FiresealMMO Well well, I used the NA ego cult term, so I think you are talking about me... How do you think the rest of the world see the US and NA posture? You do realized I said it happens in South America too, right? I didnt say everyone in US and NA is lost in his ego...but yes, the cult is real. See, an opinion is a point of view, if you think an opinion is “you are right and the rest is lesser and is wrong”, sorry, you just fell in this ego cult thing that seems to ofend you. If you decide to express your judgement formed in your mind you will need arguments to support your judgement, if without arguments you think you are right only because it is in your mind.. well, you fell on it again. Just curious, how I tried to degrede anyone? My ego is the biggest here only because you just didnt understand what I said? To be honest, I just think you are confused.
First off, as much as I've enjoyed your 'clarifications' Umbra. You erred when saying he fell into the ego cult thing you mentioned was inherent to the US and the NA's. It's been around forever, most of ancient civilizations had that ego problems.
As for opinion, you can have an uneducated pov, it doesn't necessitate structure or even valid premises..it just makes your conclusion extremely weak. Being judgmental is a derogatory remark used for those that cast a verdict over someone/something without forethought or understanding, they rarely use valid arguments. Also, an argument may be brought to a logical conclusion without it being true, truth and logic don't always accompany one another, since truth is a perspective on which to base opinion and judgment.
Finally, I wonder if you take too much pleasure in your dissection of people's views...not implying such, just an observation of several of your posts. Not implying such, just an observation of several of your posts.
As for the topic at hand, i have no comment save that experience differ from person to person, and how or what makes you enjoy a game should be your discretion only.

The ego problem is a human issue.
When you live outside US it is easy to see how celebrity, money and ego culture are strong there.
If this is bad or not, it is up to you to decide, I didnt degrade anyone using this argument, I only expressed why I belive this can numb the perception and conclusions.
The fact it is not only a today´s issue doesnt change that.
A point of view can be educated or uneducated, you know why an argument can be brought to a logical conclusion withou being true? Because sometimes, there is not only one truth.
But to express a point of view you will need arguments, maybe you dont agree with my arguments, but they are there.
If you read my answer to firesealmmo you will see I didnt cast any veredict, I gave him examples. I didnt say he fell, I expressed why he would fell based in my arguments and point of views.
No Im implying the same rules in my own arguments and point of views, just read my words again and you may understand it as english is not my first ( not even my second ) language .

An argument does not need a truth to be brought to a logical conclusion, so long as the premises (what you term as arguments) make sense in the course of the debate. You can outright lie for your premises, but so long as they link to one another and bring a coherence to the argument, your conclusion will be logical, if not factual.
''f you decide to express your judgement formed in your mind you will need arguments to support your judgement, if without arguments you think you are right only because it is in your mind.. well, you fell on it again.'' - your words
By saying 'if something" to someone then say "you fell on it again" speaking of the ego thing, then you are degrading his way of thinking, because you associate him to that negative label YOU brought up. Jjust because you don't think he has any truthful premises to back up what he says, does not make his opinion any less valid to him. You mistake truth for logic and try to inject your truth to any comments you deem illogical. Your "argument" had a judgment to it, not a conclusion. You might think they are the same but they are not. Why else would there be two words?
This isn't a flame or an assault, just an interjection of another point of view . You may also not agree with my argument, but it is there nonetheless also.

I'm one of the enlightened few, with sophisticated taste. I know better than the general public, and I know what's better for them. Sieg Heil!
