the game is made for xbox + its not 50% complete i wish i could see your face when you get to level 60 after 5 levels of pure grind .. with 20 levels left oh, and try go to an instance... im sure it will be an awesome experience for you
Interesting how 50% of the haters state leveling is TOO EASY, and the other half state it is TOO HARD. You guys should really get together and compare notes, It would makes your stories seem alittle more real.
Are you really this stupid?
Leveling and lack of quests past level 45 are two different things mmkay?
humm don't know, are you really that smart? So your saying its easy to level without quests past lvl 45? Seems rather conflicting to me, but then you already seem to think I'm a idiot compared to your dazzling brillance.
Me I always thought people could still be smart and have different opinions, oops guess not i marvel once more in your intelligent fact filled arguements
Have a nice day
Well, after giving this some thought, I think you are right. Given the inept game making skills of Funcom, I can easily see them realising that leveling was way too fast and so they decided "hey, lets take endgame quests out, that'll slow them down".
I stand corrected, sir.
You seem to be waffling there. You mean you really don't know what your posting do you? (The Damn game levels too fast!, oh umm no no I mean the game levels too slow, oh oh can i change my mind again please? ) Just taking second hand remarks that fit your agenda and piecing them together aye?
Have you played the game since release? Does it have problems yes, I don't know of any MMO on release that didn't are they as big and numerous as you say? I'd say no but that is my opinion and you have yours.
uh... people are reaching level 80 in less than 2 weeks (NOTE: not all of them are no-lifers), despite the fact that the last 20 levels you have to grind mobs, because of lack of quests.
Can you please explain why all this is so hard to understand?
The so called "new" combat system is only half new, because the only thing you do is 1 2 6 1 2 3 4 etc button mashing which becomes VERY annoying once you're two weeks into the game.
Try to tank or heal using only those keys. NO, you need skills, u need to do combos after positioning your opponents so that u can affect all of them. You must position your healer so that some heals can affect all those who stand in front of you. Even some buffs work that way.
Maybe funcom should put a mind reading function in the game so you wont find the battle system annoying. FFS!
AoC had its chance. The new in AoC is the graphics which happens at the same time be its downfall, as instances and copies are being used to cut up the world so people can MOVE their avatars. WE have yet to see how well the suttering of frames wil be when 48vs48 people will fight in one instance. It is NO surprise these Siege battles are not even included until ...main (bought) reviews will be published. Everything was sacrificed to those graphics, NOT alone open seamless worlds, but also community (pure solo instances), blocking of paths that remined me of the 90's RPG, and very limited replay value and of course stuttering PvP fights. The so called "new" combat system is only half new, because the only thing you do is 1 2 6 1 2 3 4 etc button mashing which becomes VERY annoying once you're two weeks into the game. The system does NOT have the same control as "shooters" while the biggest problem this buttom smashing delivers is even MORE lag because the server-client speeds are being effected by it (no downtime meaning the fastest clients win). ---- So AoC had its chance. Like I always said it will sell initailly but on PC at least it will be in the 300K subscriber bracket after a mere 3 months. If it will be washed away - like so many other MMORPG's pushed here on this site - will depend how much WAR/WotLK will deliver. But most users who are now "enthousiastic first 10 days players" will be returning to their old worlds letting a rather "smelly" pseudo MMO behind in their way out. As a final remark : The FIRST one who says Conan graphics are superb, doesn't have a CLUE what visuals mean in computer games. Even in this feature (and about everything a MMORPG stands for was sacrificed for it) the game is VERY much unpolished and indeed smells "amateurish".
Thank you for your OPINION. Its not the same as mine, but at least we both know that everything you posted is just your OPINION, and that you really aren't any smarter or prophetic then the rest of us. All the statements that AoC will fail in 3 months or so are the same arguements almost every troll has used since the beginning of MMO's. Will AoC succeed? Only time will tell I'm willing to wait and see, in the mean time keep telling everyone your OPINION of how bad AoC is and I'm sure others will continue to give their OPINION of how much it rocks.
I'm guessing it really upsets you on some level that people are having fun and enjoying AoC while your stuck with nothing more then the same old aging cartoony glacial expansion WoW. (Oh wait thats my opinion ) 5 to 1 says we catch you bashing WAR when it comes out in a few months.
To stop this whining thingine...i leveled to 50 via quests. from 50-60 you get 1/3 XP via quests, rest you can do repetable quests or grind. From 60-70 you have 2 zones to do quests in, 2/3 of XP for level is quest based and 1/3 is grind. On 68-80 you can enter final zone where situation depends from level to level.
Yesterday i had grinding party with healer and one AOE caster, lvl 73 me, lvl 75 they. We were pulling about 20 mobs at time, killing them in 10 seconds. 200 000 XP in 20 minutes, so in about 60 minutes i gained LVL + alot of stuff to sell and alot of money from mobs.
AOE grinding is way to go. Now it is a bit hard because there are no much players in those areas but in week or two there will be more than alot players to team up with.
About lack of endgame content...i dont know ppl about what game are you talking about. AOC have more endgame isntances than any other game that was released in past few years including WoW.
Edit:
Because of that terrible grind you have to do...i collected 3g for my mount, gave 3g to friend for his mount, donated 1 gold to guild and in pocket i have 4 gold what is more than needed in this game atm.
--------------------> Would you like some cheese with that whine?
I've been doing extensive OOC chatting in areas from lvl 20 to lvl 70 And I'm sorry to say, we're all loving it. They're spending their time enjoying the game instead of wasting their time here.
Newcomers to this forum.. don't dwell on the whining here. This game is BIG, a success, and VERY popular beyond just initial hype.
And wtf were you guys talking about with the whole no content after lvl 45? I've been playing non-stop and I've leveled me and my cousin's character to 62 on just quests. You guys must be horrible at exploring.
Oh, and. People who are complaining about the bugs like they've made or broke the game are simply naive. It's like you've never played a launch before.
One more thing. We're GLAD they made a game for decent+ rigs. Why must developers cater to YOUR crappy computer? Go play a cartoon mmo if your computer can't handle or get a better computer. Complaining isn't going to make them smudge up the graphics just for you.
Peace.
Pretty much sums it up for me. I joined a guild with about 100 players and a good test is to see how many people complain or report issues in the game. With a few minor glitches being reported the only conversation in guild chat and OOC is about the gameplay, building guild keep and how much fun it is.
Had to laugh at your last paragragh. Damn right its about time a game came out that challenged my rig! Its even going to make me go SLi and buy more RAM to really see the gorgeous detail. There has been some mind blowing scenary in this game and I logged on to some other MMO's I am subscribed to this morning and what I thought was great graghics now looks like it was made on an Commodore 64.
Running through shoulder high wheat fields and seeing the sun rise in the horizon with sweeping mountain ranges is really special.
I know people complain about instances but putting it into perspective when I played yesterday I was on 2 maps for the full 8 hours. Some are massive and the majority of missions are based outside. Then again instances are so damn gorgeous I can handle a 15 sec loading screen. (this is post level 20)
People who love the game they play are not posting hate mail about it. They are bleeding from the eyeballs because of the time they spend in-game. Hell I would be playing AoC before work now if they weren't patching!
I'm glad you like AoC. I think the game is fun, til about some level, usually between 50 and 60 and you run out of quests you can solo. Your other alternative is the disaster known as the main system.
I have zero desire to level anymore cause I get to grind. joy.
I did spend sometime working on my professions, but I mean how long can I farm resource nodes til I want to shoot myself.
there's potential, but aoc is not a finished game. And for those of us looking for a polished product, it's not there yet.
Unless you're an aoc fanboi, you're gonna tire of the game somewhere between level 40 and 80 until more content is added and bugs are fixed.
Even alts aren't that fun cause tortage is surprisingly not fun the 2nd time around (but very fun the first) and pretty boring the third. too bad, since it's really well done. I guess when you've heard the story once it loses its appeal.
After the 100th carbon copy ranting post, people start to search for an agenda. Some people have a pretty obvious one. Since when calling out an obvious agenda constitutes a personal attack?
The BIG difference in these posts is that I analyze the game while the FANBOYS ATTACK the persons . That's a very big difference. It shows the fan boys do take it personally and attack the players who don't like it and it just shows the fans are way out of control. While I who see the shortcomings are only talking about the game.
Strange, because from what I've been reading, it's the "haters" who have been rude and abusive.
And I've seen much much more negative disinformation about aoc than I've seen positive.
From reading all this stuff and from what I have gathered from the game. Alot of people were expecting it to be a wow clone. Flame me or what ever, but by how some of you have put some things on here, you were expecting it to follow in WoW.
The company was probably not expecting people to get to the higher areas so quickly. (Which brings the grind from WoW into talk.) Honestly some of you guys really need to grow up and stop being such little kids. hate it or not, ive seen enough Hate posts on here alone to start talking in these threads.
And for those who say AoC is like Guild Wars. You never played guild wars. The entire game of Gw is set in zoned areas. AoC is not set in small areas. Sure it has them but the overall area isn't. In GW you could cross a zone in a few minutes fighting.
Ok so Seige battles are not in the game yet. Gives you time to prepare for them. Alot of you have taken a single bad thing about the game and turned it into a stand tall of hate this game for this reason. Looking at the bad side of one thing is just stupid. Think of it as giving you time to prepare for major pvp.
And those who say it will lag in big battles, prove it to us.

'Haters' are usually most vocal and repetitive, take your pick.
Why do they hate?
1. Game broke in their eyes
2. Upset because they cant run the game on older PC's properly.
3. Lack the ability to see the big picture and 'cry foul' straight away. (vocal)
4. Got banned for exploiting.
5. Worried that the success of the game (or potential success) might somehow take away from another game they like.
6. They have to let the world know, over and over and over again, post after post after post of the same negativity as gospel truth (just one opinion)
7. Bad news is the news, get the most read and talked about, turn on BBC or CNN. Product of our own society.
8. Vocal and disruptive in threads were they take them off topic (hate runs deep you know)
9. Drives off decent fans of the game from the forums with non stop barrage. (most people come to the forums for information about the game, not the drama, info swings both ways, but take a look at how many negative consistant same topic threads there are. The haters always start it)
10. A haters number one rule is, post it 50 times to get the point across. (someone with a good experience is more likely to continue having that experience, a hater will have it a few times only and the procede to tell the world (vocal) )
Best thing for anyone on the fence is to wait till the buddy key system opens up there are close to one million keys out there. People should make their own mind up. + check post history.

One must say you analyze this game alot, and if I may point out again post opinions as facts. many of which are just plan incorrect like you combat string (monsters change their shielding which has a profound effect on combos so what worked one time many times won't the next)
So why are you analyzing the game? You've said several times you don't like it and won't be playing. Are you trying to convince more people you are right by posting the same things again? This isn't a attack its just a honest curiousity question why someone spends so much time posting the same thing again and again about something they don't like .
If you somehow think your improving the genere by the redundent posting I'd say I highly doubt it but that is my opinion and you and I do differe on that.
There is room in the world for people to play and enjoy AoC (if they do) and for others not too. I would never tell someone that Disliked AoC that they should play it so why is it so important for people like you to to tell people that do enjoy it that they shouldn't because of your opinions.
Hehe so the Fans are having fun and are way out of control in your words. perhaps they just need you to teach them they really aren't having fun and should be as unhappy and upset as you? yes in 2-3 months I might grow unhappy with the game and drop out, but it will be because of my own opinions formed by my own experiences not because unknown poster XXX posted 37 times the sucks.

I honestly don t know where to start on this post. First of all they should have done some research and testing regarding the speed of leveling. If they did they made a big mistake not having content in for end game. AOC and GW theres comparisons but thats alli have to say about that. Siege battles being laggy well not sure if it will be but from what i ve seen personally in game it will be if theres more then 20-30 people on screen at once casting and swinging away. Can t prove it will be for sure but with the obvious lack of testing for end game i m sure they don t know either, hence the 48 vs 48 cap pyut in to save their butts or they hope so anyways.
Actually MMOs can have graphics better than Oblivion, just take a look at LOTRO's directX10 engine (if you want a seamless world) or AoC's directX 9 (if you want a zoned world). It already happened and it'll only get better from here.

Nah, what really happened is people became believers in the hype. While its ok to get giddy over a new game, try not to fall into the hype. Marketing people know how to sell turd to anyone and make them think its the greatest thing ever.
As for the people who nit-pick something, its human nature. Someone will always complain about something, even more so if they don't like it or understand it. Kinda like christians/catholics protesting any movie with a altered view of western religion. Just ignore them and see it for yourself. Its your money and your choice, not thiers.
And for Lag in PvP, well, its a wait and see. Funcom really pooched AO's tower battles back in the day and its only slightly gotten better. Hopefully they have figured it out by now, but I wouldnt bank on it till there is proof.
There are 3 types of people in the world. 1.) Those who make things happen 2.) Those who watch things happen 3.) And those who wonder "What the %#*& just happened?!"
And did you do the "massive" PvP siege battles already with your MASSIVE hardware?
No, because they are not implemented yet, because your MASSIVE hardware will crawl at a few FPS when they will let 96 people into one instance and have a PvP fight. Cutting up a MMORPG in instances of 30/40 people is ridiculous. it's a solo game with a cable attached to it. Conan will show his real face in these not yet delivered but promised "massive siege battles". Explain why they are blocked at the moment? Because it is the ultimate reason why instances are being used in "open world" Conan. To let people ctually MOVE their Avatar. And like I said earlier: Hi Res graphics have NOTHING to do with visuals in a computer game. Wait till the siege battles will open and suddenly you realize even your computer won't handle the frame rates. Worst MMO game design ever. Perhaps good for consoles who are used to loading screens. And spare me those "15 seconds" loads,... it isn"t even discussed, "instance jumping" now that's a new MMORPG word since Conan.
A few guilds are already reporting on battles involving 75+ some players, and they are reporting favorably(at least one posted a video link here) So it would seem you are wrong. You yourself seem not to have tried it and are perhaps drawing conlusions that fit your arguement out of conjunture and thin air.
Again with the instancing? Takes me 2-3 seconds (load) to instance i'd guess your rig might not be up to snuff if your telling the truth. Considering you misinformation so far I start to doubt it.
Wait till the siege battles will open and suddenly you realize even your computer won't handle the frame rates.
Have you played the game ? Did you play long enough to leave Tortage ?
Warning !!! Spoiler !!!
The whole freaking town is involved in a large scale battle. Without any lag. The only difference between a NPC and a PC is that NPC do not need network bandwidth. But bandwidth for 75-100 players is not unrealistic. The client does render them easily.
Your the same guy who walked out of the theater when Empire Strikes back came out screaming "Vader is Lukes father!" arent you?!
WAY TO RUIN IT FOR US!!!
*cries and runs away*

Im still trying to figure out why a lot of you are lvl cap or even past 40 ten days into the games launch. So many of you are complaining about the game past lvl 40 and many are quitting. Did you ever stop to think that you are burnt out on the game because youve spent most of your free time during the past ten days getting to the end of a game that should take at least a month. It usually takes me around 6 months to get to lvl cap in MMOs. Anything gets old/boring/irritating when you constantly surround yourself with it. Too much of anything is a bad thing. Slow down and enjoy the game piece by piece, detail by detail.

From what I understand, they are, and there just isn't enough content!

As much as i agree with you it s not the point. Some people will always level fast. The fault is in the dev team not having things ready 40+ from what i m hearing. It s the nature of the beast that there will be some people that hit cap within a week, some a little slower, and some way slower. Bottom line is, any company that doesn t realize this didn t do their homework.

Slow down and enjoy the game piece by piece, detail by detail. You know, I wonder if devs ever thought of stress testing leveling speeds? Like get a group of hardcore people who can power level through almost any game on the market, give them a case of red bull and time them. Call them control group A
Then get a group of people and only allow them 2.5 hours a day to play, where there goal is to level up as fast as possible in that amount of time, set a stop watch and let them have at it. Control group B.
Last group would be made up of players who are allowed 5 hours a day to level up. Control group C.
The take the collected data and get an average leveling speed and adjust accordingly. But it has to be made up of actual players, not Q&A people who have to focus on other parts of the game. Just a bunch of fresh players who have yet to touch the game, just to get an idea how the average player will level up after a launch.

You can never use these forums as a "how the game is going" that's more or less a fact since every good game is getting bashed to high heavens and the lacking ones is somehow silently being loved.
the more popular the game, the more haters it got, WoW being a very good example for this, especially when it comes to the mmorpg.com forums. But there are always exceptions of course, such as VG.
Right now, AoC certainly ISN'T a mmorpg meeting VG's fate. Since there weren't any instability or performance madness after their sudden "miracle" patch just before launch. The lag and performance was always something that was complained about both at start of VG and when the people got the "free couple of days" to try it out again and saying that it still had those problems.
But in the end it's all about preference and "in the eye of the beholder".

I remember reading a few years back
"Omg, blizzard are complete retards. everybody I know is gonna stop playing wow when this patch goes live!!!"
Come to think of it, you get posts like that for almost every patch that goes live.

1.) Those who make things happen
2.) Those who watch things happen
3.) And those who wonder "What the %#*& just happened?!"
Again with the instancing? Takes me 2-3 seconds (load) to instance i'd guess your rig might not be up to snuff if your telling the truth. Considering you misinformation so far I start to doubt it.
Move on. Nothing to see here. Those are not the cimmerians you are looking for...
Warning !!! Spoiler !!!
The whole freaking town is involved in a large scale battle. Without any lag. The only difference between a NPC and a PC is that NPC do not need network bandwidth. But bandwidth for 75-100 players is not unrealistic. The client does render them easily.
Your the same guy who walked out of the theater when Empire Strikes back came out screaming "Vader is Lukes father!" arent you?!WAY TO RUIN IT FOR US!!!

Slow down and enjoy the game piece by piece, detail by detail.
playing: darkfall
waiting: earthrise
From what I understand, they are, and there just isn't enough content!
As much as i agree with you it s not the point. Some people will always level fast. The fault is in the dev team not having things ready 40+ from what i m hearing. It s the nature of the beast that there will be some people that hit cap within a week, some a little slower, and some way slower. Bottom line is, any company that doesn t realize this didn t do their homework.

I am truly sorry I did put a warning there...
Remove it from your quoted post please...

They did.
Take the Magic: The Gathering 'What Color Are You?' Quiz.
I remember reading a few years back
"Omg, blizzard are complete retards. everybody I know is gonna stop playing wow when this patch goes live!!!"
Come to think of it, you get posts like that for almost every patch that goes live.
