Ok, Since alot of people are bashing AOC and say there are all these things wrong with it, that it sucks omg it i wasted money blah blah blah. You guys post here and let us all know what we should be playing that is better.
*edit* I enjoy AOC, and am playing the legacy for e2 atm because well I have always wanted to try it. Heard Vanguard is starting to pick up again..let me know when a trial is available and ill give it a go.

ow and don't forget darkfall
How about a game called "Think For Yourself"?
Ahhh mellodrama! Like any of us would be playing anything if others disliking it meant we couldn't.
If I knew I wouldnt be here
Own, Mine, Defend, Attack, 24/7
Personally? I LOVE Artix Entertainment's games. MechQuest, AdventureQuest, DragonFable...
And now they're making an MMO....
I'm set for the next year
AQworlds.com
Ive moved away from MMORPGs for now until better comes out (Spellborn, WAR, Fallen Earth, SW Clone Wars, who knows)
Enjoying Gears of War right now
I think there would be a different answer for each person. Right now I don't know if any MMO is worth playing to me.
So I suppose you could be playing Waterworld the game. God only know we didn't get enough during the movie.

I think dragonfable is fun, the fact that there is only 3 classes is kind of a downer, and most of the content requires you to pay for a dragon amulet. No offense but im not going to throw cash away for a online flash game.
Completely agree. Just came back to Vanguard after being gone for a year, having a blast. I'll be playing it until Darkfall or Warhammer comes out.
Darkfall Travelogues!
I like AOC, if you read the OP you would understand that I am requesting all the trolls and people who dislike it for whatever reason to tell me whats better out there. I thought it was pretty obvious...not sure how you missed it .
To be fair, i updated the OP, since I forgot to include that portion of it, heh.
After laughing at AoC I went back to EVE... the new expansion looks pretty awesome: Faction Warfare. It releases June 10th I think.

Give City of Heroes A Try 14 day trial. I'm going back to try EQ2 again, as you probabvly know if you are a veteran then you can re-sub for free for the next 60 days.
I played Eve for my brother in law, and I REALLY TRIED TO LIKE IT. Unfortunately i think it sucked. I thought the community was neat and everything and the whole space ship in space was awesome for like 2 hours...untill I realized I would only be looking at a small space ship and endless nothingness. Then I quickly quit and uninstalled. Just too boring for me. I needed something with instant action If I wanted to have it, not jump 50 gates to get to a low security zone only to be blown up by players that have been there since launch.
Completely agree. Just came back to Vanguard after being gone for a year, having a blast. I'll be playing it until Darkfall or Warhammer comes out.
LOLactually, I was sarcastic
Vanguard has no player to play with beside the gazillion bugs
swg pre-cu should have given you the hint, that I was sarcastic...
Darkfall is vaporware
I have tried City of Villains/heroes and I wasnt fond of the combat system or the way the place was set, I guess ultimately I much prefer the lush imagination of medevil content, I did however love the customization that COH offered, loved looking like a evil Ninja Villain lol.
The giveaway for me was hearing how many people were high levels in a very short time. That is a giveaway that the game has no content and players couldn't care less about any part of the game other than gaining a new level.I'm just not into that what so ever.
Neither WOW nor AOC are bad games, but there lack of a challenge and simplistic approach to gaming leaves them as a kiddie attraction, that alot of players won't dive into.I like alot of others don't need our ego boosted by getting some level 60 in two weeks of gaming,no thanx to that.
YOU ASKED so i'll tell you....go play EQ2 it's free for past players for 60 days and for noobs there is a 14 day trial. The game is HUUUUUUUUUUGE ! TONS to do,i noticed there is tons of players with well over 2000+ quests done some even have 4000+.The internet makes questing alot easier now ,but the tough heroics and such would leave noobs with endless hours of gameplay.I would say it would take 2 years for a brand new player to cover everything in the game now.You won't hit ANY level in EQ2 and be hitting the forums asking for content, because there is TONS !.There is a lot of perks to building up a guild as well in EQ2.I might also add that EQ2 had TONS of content right out of the box, there was no need to wait for updates in the way alot of games are doing now with early releases.
IMO vanguard is also a pretty good game with tons of content, for alot of players it is there goal to be able to build ships. Some just enjoy the crafting/exploring/faction work.
Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.

I am actually in the return to eq2 thing right now, And I am trying to pick a good class that plays well solo and in groups, and will actually be needed in end game content. Any ideas? So far the combat system in eq2 looks more attractive then the caster system.
I voted online flash games. I enjoy the flash tower defense games. Those pretty much rock.
Ok not the same genre. I hate to tell you this though, but this genre is officially dead.....
It MAY get resurrected in the future, but at the moment it's dead.
MMO's are actually the biggest money maker right now, and the future sales look to be good too. So actually you are very wrong if you think that the MMO genre is anywhere close to dead. Maybe for you its dead, but not for the rest of the world. Flash games are alot of fun when your at work or bored waiting for servers to update. But I would never play a flash game myself over an MMO.

Darkfall is vaporware
Wow, you're a total moron. I played Vanguard at launch when it supposedly had "a gazillion bugs" I ran into 4 broken quests in 1 month, and that's it. The bugs were fixed extremely quickly. I guess reputations just stick too much. The game runs beautifully now. I have everything maxed out and I don't even stutter, there are no bugs that I can see, and there haven't been for over a year, and there's plenty of people. Vanguard has one of the biggest maps in MMO history, and I am in the LEAST POPULATED area, and I've already run into about 10 people in just the starter zone. Educate yourself before you post, you sound like a retard. As for Darkfall, if you think that's vaporware then you're more clueless then I thought.
Darkfall Travelogues!
I almost called this the worst thread ever, but since this post it has been marked BEST thread EVER!! Thanks Hexxeity
I think EVE will be even more fun with this new expansion (coming real soon!) so I'll probably go back to it. It was the only game that felt mature (to me, and not necessarily community-wise; I don't know, it just had an aura about it.)
--------------------------------------
A human and an Elf get captured by Skaven. The rat-men are getting ready to shoot the first hostage with Dwarf-made guns when he yells, "Earthquake!" The naturally nervous Skaven run and hide from the imaginary threat. He escapes. The Skaven regroup and bring out the Elf. Being very smart, the Elf has figured out what to do. When the Skaven get ready to shoot, the Elf, in order to scare them, yells, "Fire!"
Order of the White Border.
I guess it depends on your definition of dead. Right now MMO's are still making money. But to me the future is not bright. Without new fresh content and new fresh ideas there just isn't anything here that will keep the player base happy. I see a dismal future for MMO's once the WoW craze has completely died off, and I think even you will admit that WoW has already reached it's peak and started into decline.
The other MMO's out there are so far below WoW in terms of sustained player base, that I just don't see them holding up the genre. I'm not saying they won't survive, but to suggest that the genre will continue at it's current levels without something substantially new to bring in new customers is, I think, misguided.
As for making money, I think the recent sucess of GTA IV shows where the money and future investments are moving. Unless someone can bring some fresh creative concepts to MMOs, they are going to be in decline.
I'm playing Mass Effect on PC. Being that I don't own any consoles, I had to wait until it came out for the PC. It's a pretty fun game, in my opinion.
