jezvinjezvin Member UncommonPosts: 804

O, what the heck 4 classes and 4 capital cities are cut damn,

All we are left with is

2 Living capital cities, with lvls quests dungeons and siege

Living guilds

Alliances

20 classes, each with their own distinct look

Tomb of knowledge, not like this thing is PACKED with content and lore

Character Titles

6 Races

Public quests (300 was that the number?)

3 Campaigns

Keeps

Battle keeps

Over 30 gear sets for each class (not sure if 30 was the right number) PvE and PvP loot

Random exploration Easter eggs

RvR can’t forget that

Renown ranks

Trinkets for your armor to customize

Interesting crafting system

RvR dungeon

Scenarios

Moral and tactics

Banners

Guild owned keeps

Battle field objectives

6 man end game PvE dungeon

6 Mounts

Exp for PvP

+ Anything else I have forgotten because there is so much

Damn now what am I to do in WAR with just 20 classes and 2 cities there is going to be no content at all. This game sucks goodbye.

I can deal with the missing captial cities, but MISSING CLASSES?!? This absurd!

MMOs Played: I can no longer list them all in the 500 character limit.

  • jzuskajzuska Member Posts: 418

Yeah, there's only ~20 classes fuck this shit. My minimum is 140 classes.

I think you fail at making a list with the features. All these things you mention are either unconfirmed rumors, to be cut, duplicates, insignificant details or things you just got out of your head.

And what are "living" guilds anyway?

THE SKY IS FALLING! MYTHIC IS OBVIOUSLY IN CAHOOTS WITH FUNCOM! THIS GAME WILL FAIL! WAIT...WHAT? I'VE NEVER PLAYED IT BEFORE? ZOMG! I KNOW EVERYTHING! DIDN'T YOU KNOW THAT!? I MEAN...2/3RDS OF ALL THE CONTENT IS GONE! OF COURSE MY MATH IS RIGHT! I KNOW EVERYTHING! I -WILL NOT- WAIT PATIENTLY TO SEE IF THE GAME IS FUN OR NOT! I WILL STOMP MY FEET UNTIL I GET WHAT I WANT! It begins to mirror WoW, one good side with a city, one bad side with a city, all races stuck and fighting around. Warhammer is a very rich IP but Mythic is obviously failing miserably to exploit it.  I hoped to see the fractions, now are visible only renamed Alliance and Horde and lots of retarded podcasts. Lost my last hope in this game.

Living Guilds level up, to unlock to morale skills and tactics that guild mates can use. As you do PvE or RvR, your guild gains exp, or as you control a keep, your guild slowly receives a trickle of exp depending on how long you control it.

Oh yeah, and back under the bridge with you.

Uh those are all real features that we have tested and that will be included at launch.  Go read the main website for all the info on living guilds.

I am happy to see more games adding these kinds of features.

Ragnarok Online has a similar guild system. Guilds level up from player experience (although it does actually take from your leveling exp) and the guild must hit a certain level before you can take a hold a fort. (like WAR, anyone can fight but you must be an established guild to take/hold). Also leveling up gives you abilities like players getting buffs from being near the guild leader and the most important ability comes in the form of the leader being able to call the guild to himself. Although in RO the flags are only used to teleport yourself around the fort. (to give a defending advantage)

However I REALLY REALLY hope that they put some kind of size cap on guilds in WAR. With a size cap it becomes more about player skill, guild strategy and forming alliances rather than just who has the larger army of nublets to zerg rush in.

RO has a size cap and although there arn't enough players left on the game for most guilds to even hit the cap, in the past I think it really helped to keep the PvP wars more about skill and less about sheer numbers.

Lately I had been feeling disappointed by a lot of the news coming out of WAR but things like guild wars are what really matter and what can make the game fun. I've always thought guild VS guild is where it's at, who actually cares about their 'faction'? Most people have characters on both sides in faction based PvP games anyway. However guild competition is very fierce. It is much more fun to fight for the honor and glory of a guild that you really feel a part of rather than a faction of faceless people driven by NPC story.

Don't get me wrong, I love story lines but they arn't as effective in driving pvp.

In DaOC, a group of 12 who were coordinated could take out 50 who were acting without a team effort.

It's not that they don't have enough content that has me worried, but the fact that they planned and designed the game for years around this content.  They had endless meetings and decided it would be the best design and now they are cutting it because of a deadline.

I don't think it's the end of the World, or this game will be bad because of it, but it does scare me.  Changing major design elements this close to launch can have major side effects.

I couldn't agree more Oblivionate, people who haven't played DAoC and experienced the wonder that is RvR will never understand this untill they get to play WAR.  I remember the days a well coordinated group of hibs/mids turning up at the alb gate in emain would butcher about three or four groups of albs

Theres no side effects when it benefits the game as a whole. Why do people insist on posting crap they have no idea about. It was a decision to BETTER the game no to have side effects. Would you rather they released it without telling us, won t mention the company that just did this as we all know. I mean they told us , it s better for the game atm and it will be phased in. Why are people so blind to this.

So the outcry is you want Skill Based right?

I have to agree with the daoc thing, I have talked to and read posts from tons of people who have not played daoc and simply cannot really grasp just what RvR is really like.

You're...being sarcastic right? If you think of it there's actually ALOT of content besides those cities, also I think before many of us reach lvl 40 (Except the no-lifers) some/most of it will be back and we'll have more stuff to occupy our time.
