No offence, but atleast think about it. Do you think that it is normal to spam hateposts on regular basis? I'm not saying you do it but the trolls in common.
Another FAIL at even attempting to give me something solid as to why you would actually believe anything about Darkfall or that Talos says after seeing so much information that I and others have given to you, pretty solid reasons that SHOULD atleast make you go "Hmmmm"
And to answer your question, I can only speak for myself. But trust me it is not the fans like yourself or anyone else here that I hate. In fact, my honest attempt here is to save you from heartbreak, major disappointment, and despair. My anger goes out to the corruption that I honestly believe is taking place with this game. I don't believe for one second that they even think they can make a game of this magnitude. After all this time, I see it as nothing more then nothing but hype, propaganda, and probably attempts to obtain investors cold hard cash.. and maybe you fans cash too. Corruption and lies and people who try and use other peoples dreams or needs as weaknesses to prey on them is what I hate. No telling how many fans have been caught up in this mysterious web of deceit, lies, and empty promises already. And in the end, all that will be left is shattered hopes, empty wallets (at least some investors wallets) and a broken game that never had a chance from the start.
But you think it's normal? That this is how everyone at internet shall behave?. Yeah lucky for us you guys just hang at the internet an not lurking around at playgrounds.
Darkfall has been promising to release starting back in 2003. But they didn't release. Back then they had coverage in major game media. Now they have no coverage. Back then they had screenshots, a video or two, and interacted with the community. Now they have screenshots, a video or two, and don't interact with the community. It's the same shit as always, the chance of this game releasing in 2008 is smaller than it was in 2003. In 2003 they had a date set for beta. In 2003 a lot of mainstream gamers actually believed the game was coming out soon, now only morons think that.
What don't you understand about all that? Are you really one of the morons? From all outside appearances the state of development of the game has not changed in five years. Same promises, same empty talk, the only difference is by now no one in the mainstream of the gaming industry even pays attention to this project. Back in 2003 a lot of people were paying attention because they thought there was an actual game being made.
There was a little bit of playable amateurish crap back in 2003, some journalists actually got to log into the game world and mess with it back then [I think on a lan]. Sure there, is a bit of amateurish crap that is probably possibe to "play" now, just as there was five years ago. But a professional game? No. That's why the professionals in the gaming industry don't pay attention to this "game" anymore, if it ever releases it will be like some shit that comes out of a 15 year old's garage running on his mom's computer.
The only question about Darkfall is why did they make such grand claims about their abilities and game features? If you read some of the investigations that Polarization has made and posted here, these developers have nowhere near the experience, resources, or ability to even accomplish a small fraction of their claims, such as "A game world as large as the nation of Germany." What a laugh.
The chance of Atriarch being released is higher than Darkfall being released. And if Darkfall does release, please, whatever you do, don't let them take your money before you get to play the game! Just don't do it. DON'T. You will get burned for sure. I followed this game since 2001, and very closely for the first five years. Nothing has come from this development team but lies and deceit. In 2003 Darkfall was talked about and interviewed by all kinds of mainstream gaming publications, now nothing? Don't you wonder why gaming journalists don't talk to them anymore? Don't tell me "Women Gamers of Greece", lol. Be serious.
Go read about bitboys and their awesome graphics processors. It's the same damn thing, it happens all the time. There is investor money to be had. The main question I still want answered is: Is this Darkfall project bankrolled by Tasos' uncle? I think the answer might be yes. Just a thought, though. Just a guess. Bye.

I am going to Athens Greece on a trip next March Break around the 12th or so, so I will represent the MMORPG.com forum community and attempt to do a little Q & A, depending on whether Tasos ever PMs me back on the Darkfall Forums.
I will be starting a thread closer to that time period if it doesn't release where people can ask some serious questions and get some answers hopefully.
I will also be the first tourist to bring a camera with me, lawl.
I've got 3 days to find the building they call Aventurine S.A.

People have tried that before, and were just ignored. Not that you shouldn't try it again. Greece is a nice place to vacation from what I hear. It would be even funnier if they try to ignore you and you show up on their doorstep with cameras, "Why won't you talk to Darkfall forum members about your project? Why won't you let us come inside??" LOL.

I think I'll actually buy a video camera, and just be like, yah.
I think I should break in, steal their code, bring it back to Canada, and give it to BioWare.
EDIT: If I get ignored, I'l calling them once I get there and recording my conversation, uploading it to MMORPG.com and then let us "Vapourware Trolls" use it against em Fanboi's.

In 2003 a lot of mainstream gamers actually believed the game was coming out soon, now only morons think that. Starting back in 2003? The only time they've actually said such things about release are in 2003 and 2008. Tasos has only given estimates of their work progress in other years, as far as I know. Now, back in 2003, the game they were working on was a completely different one. They basically rescaled and restarted the whole project. Now, since 2003 to this day, they've been producing the "new" Darkfall. Also, could you link me to some of this coverage in major game media? Sounds like something new to me. Indeed, the PR isn't the best around. A lot should be proven with the comprehensive video, either in a good or a bad way. Anyway, what is your opinion on the fact that Womengamers.com actually visited the Aventurine's studios where there were people working, if you believe that there is not an actual game being made? There was a little bit of playable amateurish crap back in 2003, some journalists actually got to log into the game world and mess with it back then [I think on a lan]. Sure there, is a bit of amateurish crap that is probably possibe to "play" now, just as there was five years ago. But a professional game? No. That's why the professionals in the gaming industry don't pay attention to this "game" anymore, if it ever releases it will be like some shit that comes out of a 15 year old's garage running on his mom's computer. That sounds definitely awesome, which journalists? Any links? As far as I know, Asp (from LoD, a fairly big guild) got to log on Darkfall and play it. It wasn't the newest version, but anyways, he proved that the game exists. What would you say about the hundreds of photos they've released? All renders? The comment about released version, is just a prediction, which are basically based on nothing. The claim that the game world would be as large as Germany is not it place. A game world bigger than some countries in real world is the actual claim which Tasos made. It's a pretty vague comment, in my opinion. Be serious. They've stated, that they will not take of your money to get to play the game. Not exactly a comment a person who is trying to twist a scam, is it? Also, most of the Darkfall's community would be very steep with pre-orders or trying to get money to beta test, after the claims they've made. Aventurine doesn't exactly beg people to visit their studios, they don't beg for a hype around the game. People are free to visit their studios if they arrange the meeting before. Go find out if you're interested. Womengamers.com isn't exactly a mainstream gaming site, but definitely not a scam site either. Their visit in the Aventurines office proved at least something. Go read about bitboys and their awesome graphics processors. It's the same damn thing, it happens all the time. There is investor money to be had. Already the first investors from Razorwax lost a lot of money supporting this project, as we know for a fact thanks to Polarization. The main question I still want answered is: Is this Darkfall project bankrolled by Tasos' uncle? I think the answer might be yes. Just a thought, though. Just a guess. Bye. Fact from Polarization? Any sources to prove this point? If they would've tried to "scam" any money, why would they have another studio set up, under the same project name? Are you, by any chance, Polarization? Just a guess. When you claim that people at Aventurine are making up things, yet present these so called "facts" yourself, please, give us a link to something what could verify this information. You claim the whole game to be thin air, while that's what your own talk actually is. Stop being such a hypocrite.
I discovered Darkfall when I was in my first year of undergraduate school. I'm now almost finished with my PhD. I was expecting to be playing the game in 2003 at one point.

It's a 100% fact that an early investor from Norway that invested 500,000 into Razorwax lost all that money when they moved away to Greece.
Funny that Razorwax got a 500,000 investment than a few years later went bankrupt in 2006 and were involved in illegal shareholder (illegal loans to shareholders) activities twice during those years...
I wonder where the 500 grand went to?
split up nicely between the shareholders through some nice sized loans.
These guys are con artists.
This game will never turn out to be anything worthwhile. It's a big money pit.

That sounds very interesting. Where did you get to know this information? What were the names the corporations which were involved? Could you post me a link to something which could confirm this somehow?

It's right there under the "financial information" tab then scroll to the bottom of the page.
As for the 500k investor form Norway - just do a google search. You can find a quote from the guy himself about it.
Companies need money to develop their product.
"In October 2002, Aventurine SA was founded in Greece, ostensibly to develop and commercialise Darkfall. The Razorwax team was integrated into Aventurine, and five other developers from Norway were hired into the company.
When the Razorwax team and the Aventurine team had their first meeting in Athens, a member of one of the teams joked that Razorwax should relocate from Norway to Greece due to the lower taxes and cost of living in Greece.
Eventually, the two teams realised that this idea actually made very good business sense, and by December 2002, the relocation of Razorwax was finalised."
Upon that kind of things, investors can lose money, but I'd hardly count that as a scam. Investing isn't a totally risk free business. In any business, including the game business, money is lost and won.
Anyway, the "loans" which you're leaning onto are made in 2003 and 2005. They hardly have anything to do with Darkfall, in that case, as the investors weren't investing into Darkfall at all if they were aware that the game is being produced by Aventurine by that time.
Could you hit me up with the link of the 500k investor from Norway and the page where he's talking about it? I only got Warcry and Mmorpg.com threads pop up in Google.

Who cares what they had to do with? It still notes illegal loans...

That still doesn't take away from the point that someone lost half a million dollars because of these incompetent clowns.
Find it yourself. i am not your secretary. It's already an old known fact so I am not going to even bother..
I stated that I did a Google search and all I saw were threads about it on Warcry and Mmorpg.com forums.
If you base your whole argument on about one thing and don't accept to give me your source, how believable does that sound? It's like I'd say that Darkfall has an open beta download on the internet, but you're going to have to find it yourself.
Oh, yes and Zymurgeist proved your last point to be completely wrong.
Hahaha, I love the fact that you ignore the whole question which even sparked this debate. Could I have the link to the page where the early investor is talking about his lost 500k?

Doesn't sound like a scam to me. The guy doesn't sound at all like he would've been ripped off, either. From the sounds of it, this is something that happens in the investing business all the time.
"We really wanted to keep working with them." This is more of a proof of the game actually existing and that they indeed do work on the game, rather than that they'd try to scam anyone.
Most of the time, investors at least pay a visit to the place where they're planning on investing into. I doubt this would be an exception, when both of the companies were Norway based.

Sure, they are not that upset. The company "lost" $500K, but that is more than likely just a tax write-off. I wont pretend to be an expert on international tax law, but I strongly suspect they were able to write this off as an investment loss.
Not a bad deal actually. You can pay the government cash to cover your tax debt, or you can invest money. If your investment takes off, great you have more money. If it doesnt take off, great, you can write off the loss and not have to fork over cash to the gov. Either way you get something for your money.

I discovered Darkfall when I was in my first year of undergraduate school. I'm now almost finished with my PhD. I was expecting to be playing the game in 2003 at one point.
would been a pretty crappy version too. -_-
It's a 100% fact that an early investor from Norway that invested 500,000 into Razorwax lost all that money when they moved away to Greece.

Words mean nothing, unless you can confirm them.
And 500.000 is not much in computer games development. Not even salary for 15 programmers during a year.

Who cares what they had to do with?
Because this is a Darkfall forum and all the core producers of Darkfall had moved to Aventurine already, before the actual loans even happened?
Now, could I have the link to the page where the early investor is talking about his lost 500k?
really? Then why are the core producers of Darkfall over at Aventurine still operating Razorwax to this day as board members / co owners?
It's one big circle jerk. Spiridon Iordanis and Anastasios (Tasos) Flampouras are both listed an owners in Aventurine.

Hahaha, I love the fact that you ignore the whole question which even sparked this debate.
Could I have the link to the page where the early investor is talking about his lost 500k?
Find it yourself. i am not your secretary. It's already an old known fact so I am not going to even bother..
I stated that I did a Google search and all I saw were threads about it on Warcry and Mmorpg.com forums.
If you base your whole argument on about one thing and don't accept to give me your source, how believable does that sound? It's like I'd say that Darkfall has an open beta download on the internet, but you're going to have to find it yourself.
Oh, yes and Zymurgeist proved your last point to be completely wrong.

That sounds about something like I expected.
