    i dont get it.

It's a known fact that some of the vaportrolls are developers from other mmorpg titles, out to slander the competition and scare off potential players.

Oh so now anyone that has any doubts about DF are developers for other MMORPG'S?

Was wondering when the tin foil hat brigade would arrive.

BTW how long have you been working for aventurine? (see it works both ways so really pretty silly to make a statement like yours) Maybe just maybe the simple fact they can't put out a simple video in under 3 months time, (its still not out)  yet they are due to release in 4 more months is scary enough?

its been proven on 1 accuastion

    Twice, actually.

Ah, yes. They usual "Tasos said so" type of proof.

well actualy after reading several (tens of) websites i did found audio vision enterprise share holders info about taking job of distribution (or one part of distribution) of that game.

Audio Vision enterprise isnt really much more than distributor of foregin and local movies for cinemas and video stores i guess. I could read that much on imdb.com. They were allso co-producers of some local movies allso.

Since Greece is rather small country i guess AVE will do multiplication of game + county logistics while EU distribution can be made solo by developers...some gaming store wants to sell dakrfall....send order to aventurine and you get your package in 2 days.

I cant find other reasons why shouldnt Aventurine do distribution themselfs or via company as AVE. Its not that hard to do anyway if hype gets high enough.

AVE actualy doesnt have to do anything but take orders and ship hard copies to where customers are.

Doh, of course. My bad. I guess they have plenty of time then.

I agree. They have more than enough time, if they hurry. Tasos has said the game is complete. They still need to run a public beta, but that will only take two or three weeks. Probably closer to three weeks, with distributing the beta copies. They still need to negotiate a contract with Audio Visual. They either need to find a publisher, negotiate an agreement, sign a contract, and get them the game. Or, if they self-publish, they will have to set up sections for tech support, customer support, billing, account maintenance, game management, etc. And set up a few servers. Then just stamp out a couple DVD's, and throw them out the door.

The only thing they have left that could cause problems for their schedule is producing a video.

i'll be highly surprised if the beta isn't download-only. i think they could easily let the beta run for 3 months assuming it does indeed start sometime this month.

August is not a good month to start Beta; most people are away on vacation; I guess late September/early October for Beta...

Since they will only be able support a very limited number of beta participants (in the low hundreds, at most, due to cost), some people being on vacation won't be a hurdle (unless some of their staff is on vacation). I'm betting November at the earliest.

"due to cost?" - you mean bandwidth? i don't think they'll care about that. i am sure they will have a stress test phase with plenty of people at once as well.

Beta is the same as a miniture release. Bandwidth costs, server costs, distribution, system to report bugs, etc. Anything that requires time (even as simple as tracking bug reports or making a video), costs, and there will be plenty of cost in a beta. I would go so far as to say, if they go beta (and the game does not completely suck), the game will actually release.

Why do people insist on saying Ikona Ihos and AVE are the same company, when quite simply they're not? If they signed an exclusivity agreement with Ikona Ihos then it means the AVE MoU or negotiation didn't go through. If it's a solid agreement then it's great news, but it seems kind of a downgrade from AVE to me.

But the company in question did. Either the AVE MoU didn't go through or this exclusivity agreement with a different company isn't solid and consequently doesn't mean anything. I don't know if you understand the concepts at hand here, but you can't have more than one exclusive distributors/publishers for the same region, so either one or both of the agreements are completely worthless or nothing solid.

PS: This is most weird. Although they are different companies, as demonstrated by their listed information at the Athens Exchange, they are somehow related because at least some of the press releases from Ikona Ihos show up on the AVE website. It would be interesting to know the relationship. If both announcements refer to the same agreement, then it means that this "new" agreement is as solid as the original MoU one ever was, which is to say, none at all.

stop trying to spin theydont have a distributer when they do.. its smack in your face and you guys still say crap it really gets on my nerves.

You know the difference between a formally binding contract and a potentially legally enforceable (in court) agreement (MoU), right? Other than that I agree that they pretty much could be said to have a distributor, just that the ball is in their court now.

Silvarch I think you are right, yes that is strange I just presumed that Xxeon had checked his/her facts before making this thread, that will teach me.

I also noticed Keeper2000 already mentioned this as well and provided some information to.

Either they are indeed two separate company’s or they could be two company’s owned by a parent company or part of the same group, or theirs some form of partnership or business relationship between them.

Either way some sort of distribution agreement(s) are obviously better then non at this stage, no matter exactly whoever or however many Aventurine actually have.
