I think the point is made, AOC forums are heavily censored to paint an Ellingson-type rosy picture of a boring, contentless, overhyped and now pretty much dead game.
I can guarentee you that the forums are moderated to follow the forum rules for posting. Not to further any type of agenda. The moderators can't help it if people refuse to post in a constructive manner.

Found another one that got deleted in my text file, it demonstrates the extent of the PR lies and total fabrication of game features by showing the difference between the announced content of the game, and the actual content delivered: (This post was also rapidly deleted, along with all the replies it got)
"the pvp update...err...the pvp fugitive system and so on. It's all new stuff that we're adding in. It's not stuff that was suposed to be be in before launch"
Yet, in the video about he brag on about PvP levels, PvP XP, PvP gear and all this stuff that was supposed to be in-game.
Now, to the title of this thread is exactly that: In April of this year E.E. says one thing about the game. Then, in July of this year he completely contradicts himself in saying "oh, this is NEW and was never planned for launch." Well, we caught this little PR LIE and now want some answers. Why is this guy still speaking for Funcom when he's lying to the customers?

and this game started off so well, I can't believe it failed like this, people's dreams, I mean this game was annouced years ago in 2006, people have been following this game for years. And for Funcom to crush people's dreams. It's like EA Mythic crushing my dreams about Warhammer Online. I got into Age of Conan 3 weeks before release so I'm not all crushed about it, though I wanna bring them down, cause everyone else does rofl

It is pretty easy to see. Every thread that is closed has had posts that are way out of line or is a thread that there are already previous threads about the same topic. I have never seen a thread (and I spend a lot of time on the forums while at work) that was closed/moved/disappeared/etc that wasn't breaking pretty normal forum rules.
Each and every thread turns into a flame war, troll fest, personal attacks, becomes off topic, etc. I have yet to see a constructive thread closed.

It's fairly obvious funcom devs are lazy and need to l2code, and that their management are basically incompetent liars who can't make a simple roadmap or stick to anything they promise
Maybe a new team could repair the game by next year or something and rerelease it

Hate posts dont make games populare. Its a measure of how bad they are. Alot of ppl are upset why a company was able to launch a game in this state and then been allowed to behave like its just perfectly fine. Even boasting about it. Thats why ppl love to stick around and see things go from bad to worse. And that is where AOC is heading.
AOC is now the game that everyone will love to hate. So don't expect ppl to start praising FC or AOC in the near or distant future. There simply is to much hate to expect it to go away.

Comparisons to Vantard are completely invalid, though I certainly would compare it to Tabula Rasa... The game and the framework is there, but there are gaping wholes where content are supposed to go. I would let this slide even one month ago, but there really is no excuse for it at this point, but considering how many people are still playing AO, don't expect to see the AoC servers close... ever. Now if only Gaute would get eaten by a polar bear the game would be much improved.

Quite entertaining as this classifies as false advertisement. which is illegal. And yet amazingly enough no one has called them on it, them or blizzard.
I am rather enjoying watching the meltdown of AoC because, beta testers were squaking about it before it released. Provides some great humor!

I think it is comparable to Vanguard . Vanguard lost 50% of it's population within a few months of launch. It's looking even worse for AoC- what'd that last poll on here show- 26% were going to keep subscribing past this month?
Losing 74% of your customers- that's an epic failure that even Vanguard can't touch.
I would be inclined to say you are being overly alarmist in that I would expect AoC to get 100k to 200k subs as a sort of plateau.

i would say 99% of the people who quit, want AoC to turn into a good game. We are all jus upset at the terribad game that was delivered to us.
Funcom does lie alot. When i canceled they claimed to have added more than 50,000 unique items to the game since launch.
