I think many of the AOC fanboys have realised this already, their reaction runs from
a) increasingly extreme, absurd optimism and denial of facts to counteract the obvious game failure (feeble-minded twits like Amorey and Protus are into the "drivel-zone" these days where they just can't find any actual material to defend with, they just spam threads and rant about how we should be more spiritual and patient or something like that)
b) slow but steady transformation into feeble defender, then into quiet observer, then into - and let's not forget this - haters themselves (I've noticed a lot of fanboys just losing it lately)
Yeah Protus posts are quite amusing these days, hes not so aggressive these days, he just tries to be witty.
Forget all the bad tech problems and linear gameplay, the customer service is crap. This is how a real developer treats its customers
On behalf of everyone at Blizzard, I want to apologize for the challenges and frustrations you experienced while trying to purchase BlizzCon tickets on Monday and Tuesday. BlizzCon is about the positive experiences you all have had with Blizzard games. As a result of this week's events, the excitement that many of you felt about the show has turned into dissatisfaction and disappointment.
Due to these circumstances, we've reevaluated our convention hall space and come up with some solutions that will allow us to offer 3,000 more tickets for sale. We know this will not be enough to satisfy the very high level of demand for tickets this year, but we want to ensure that BlizzCon remains a great experience for those of you who are able to attend. To avoid the issues many of you faced this week, we'll be selling these 3,000 via a lottery. We'll post further details once our plans are finalized. Please note that the lottery will only be open to those with an active Blizzard Account as of 9:00 PM PDT on August 12, the time that the “Sold Out” notice was posted.
I, and everyone else at Blizzard, share the frustration and disappointment that many of you have expressed as a result of this process. We'll do what it takes to avoid this type of situation in the future.
Sincerely,
Mike Morhaime
They didnt even have to do this, but they did and good on them.
You gotta love when market leaders with 10 million subs come out all humble and apologetic to their playerbase, and try to fix things fast and as best they can
While Funcom throws out a crap product that's probably running at below 100k subs, and shouts that it's like steak compared to blizzard's greasy burger, and lies and censors forums to make themselves look good

The best bit about it is that the whole problem with blizcon was its popularity and the demand for tickets were so high. There was some technical issue with the online purchase of the tickets for some people, and when it was fixed they had already sold out. So instead of saying tough luck, they went to the extent of shuffling the layout of the venue to try and squeeze 3000 more people in but still keep it free flowing at the same time. They did not need to do this at all but they did because they treat their player base well.
If they ban you by mistake or do something wrong, the admit it, give you some free in game goods like vanity pets etc and even give you free time to make up for lost time.
At the end of the day, all your opinions are moot, this game IS going to fail...now that doesn't mean its going to completely stop, it will just fall into a very very small niche market with a couple of servers and a small player base, barely hanging on to life. It may even become a free MMO, advertising based.
See the problem with you Fanbois is you think this is just a minority haters club packing a small tantrum on a forum that wont effect anything. Well sorry to burst your bubble but this is a world wide feeling, so big in fact that even the media in Norway are bagging on Funcom. This game is getting kicked in the head on personal blogs, game reviews (the ones done after they had spent time out of tortage), magazine interviews, developer interviews, newspaper articles....there are even posts made on stock exchange websites warning investors to not waste money on funcom with links to forums showing the bad customer service and problems.
You can sit there being smug all you like thinking you are having a great time and that you will continue to have a great time, but we will be the ones laughing when you start seeing server mergers and massive ghost towns. You will then cry and say hell, that guy was right.
I really don't know who you're responding to being so vague and not quoting anyone, but I'll bite the bait .
I look at it like this;
There are people who genuinely have concerns about this game or the industry as a whole. Who generally offer up constructive criticism , While respecting the other side of the issue.
There are people who simply like the game because it pleases them , And don't give a damn what that means for everyone else.(fanbois)
There are people who dislike the game because it failed to please them ,who don't give a damn what that means for everyone else.(haters)
Then there are those who basically never say anything other than blanket statements meant to insult others or belittle their stances. Your posts always seem to fall under this category. You always seem to criticize the source rather than the idea itself.
So I have to ask , What is your objective ? Do you want to debate the issues that revolve around this game , or do you simply get a kick out of stirring up the emotions of those you deem fanbois?

I'm tired of debating the issues on the main forums and other sites, now I get right to the point. I'm not going to beat around the bush and get into long drawn out debates over an issue that i know I'm right about. Call me a religious nut house shouting that the world is coming to an end, or an elitist or arrogant, means nothing to me, from now on, the only response is going to be blanket statements from a REALIST
This game will fail.
...well, I will debate the points, make quotes and examples if I'm given something to work with, but all the fanbois say are insults about us just being kids, wow players, part of the want every now generation etc, they offer no real counter to our arguments.
This game reaks of everything I have bemoaned about gaming since the late 90's. Developers jumping on the great graphics and no substance band wagon. I can understand why they do it. They want the game to jump out a visually grab people, so they fork out the money. They also know that attention spans of children have become smaller over the years and that they can get away with making games that only last 1 day of play time to finish.
Now Funcom have effectively brought this attitude into the mmo genre...how they did it blows my mind away...this genre is supposed to be about games with no ending. Yet they managed to make an mmo that feels like you have finished it very quickly.
Don't even say that WoW brought this casual attitude over because it didn't, people clock more game hours on it than any other. It also follows the same design principles of the other older mmo's. AoC is very much geared towards the casual console player who likes quick disposable flashy games.

I agree it's going to fall into the niche market .
Outside of a few people no one else is making an argument for the contrary. That doesn't mean it's idiotic to be one of those few who happen to like the game. Which is the message that translates to me every time I read one of your posts.Maybe I'm reading to much into the harshness of your points , But I really don't think I am .Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

You are probably right and I should stop sly digs at the mentality of the people who still play.

I completely agree with you , I call this the gimmick age of MMO gaming . Graphics are just one of many gimmicks being brought into the MMO sphere. You're also right about wow not being responsible for the casual friendly attitude. It is an effort by developers to draw the console market toward MMO gaming.
You're going to see this more and more as Consoles grow becoming a close alternative to the power of a PC.I also despise it , But It doesn't really surprise me.It's technoligical evolution , You can't avoid it .At least not when that evolution is sparked by the all mighty dollar.

Heck yeah they are!
Just like the band kept on playing as the Titanic sank!
"I have only two out of my company and 20 out of some other company. The only reason I still haven't taken my collectors edition out back, coated it in petrol and set fire to it, is because it may be worth something in the future.
I can see it now, on some antique road show T.V program where the collectors discuss how terrible the game was which resulted in most copies being destroyed. Having one in mint condition would be wroth a fortune to a conan collector.
