Well speaking to a guildy WHO WAS THERE, there was no hands on demo of the game, in fact the video that was shown was made the same day that it was shown, you can confirm this by the fact the devs are wearing the same clothing in the video they were wearing that day.
Also note that that is was actual gameplay as it stands now and remember the instance will not go live until October. Lots of time to "polish" it.
And there will be 4 battles going on at once and you have to beat all 4 to beat all of them to win, so teamwork will be key.
Don't be too proud of this technological terror SOE has constructed. The ability to amaze a handfull of fanbois is insignificant next to the power of the Veterans.
You mean the veterans who have been oh-so-successful in shutting down SWG? Oh, wait ...
Earth to JestorFrodo ... you have no power.
I have not idea what you are talking about but as far as this instance only cutscreen side show of SOE's it is putting their best face forward. Later with the hands on demo of this instance - it was super buggy and rubberbandy. Yes, SOE knows how to market their successes and shadow their shame.
Not quite sure how, since all the people I talked to who went to the Fan Faire said there was no hands on preview of Hoth, only that video.
Since You were not there then, You should not be sure.
The people I've talked to were there, and none have confirmed what you've said.

lols I noticed alot of recycled stuff from the game which is what they constantly do and call it new content : It's like how about you make new NPC designs and new terminal designs and different textures and base layouts...
The pod racing would be kool if Episode one didn't suck so much.
Also if all this is instanced then it sucks because SWG should be seemless.
From the reporting I've read and the commentary given, its sounds if the battle for Echo base will be alot of fun. Unfortunately there won't be any grappling hooks of the AT-AT's, but the snow speeders will still be able to take them down.
All in all it sounds like its going to be a blast for the players.

For all of you saying what the new Bioware/LEC project is or isn't.....how about you provide some CREDIBLE links to this info. Otherwise it's all just BS......and "Well I heard it from so and so!" just makes it stupid BS
The CEO of EA confirmed that BioWare's MMO is based on KotOR to a journalist from Conde Nast Portfolio magazine (an investment magazine, not a gaming industry magazine). They are a much more credible source than any gaming site.

that i am aware of, however, there are people here making claims as to exactly what type of MMO it will be and features included. In fact, aside from the CEO mentioning it at E3....no other details pertaining to this game have been released.
Also from a guildy that is at fan fair, Blixtev said that the Kotor Bioware/LEC/EA game is NOT a MMO, the closest thing to it would be what Diablo 2 is now (as far as online access). So you can do the story line solo or team up with some players to do it online as well. It's another reason why SWG is not going away, two different products.
The reason Hoth is not a planet and is a instance is because LEC does not want to advance the timeline of the game.
Yeah, because the integrity of the timeline of SWG has been of paramount importance. Lucky for us they corrected the errors of the movies and allowed thousands of jedi to freely run around and things of such nature.
It is not a planet, because they don't have the resources to make an expansion.
Wow are you getting taken for a ride...that was a scripted cutscene. I didn't see a single player character anywhere in the entire video. LOL!
Also, it sounds like there was less than 10 people in that room. How far SOE has fallen...
Play the video again and LISTEN to what the guy is saying. You'll hear him describe the roles you can play, and you clearly hear him say “piloting vehicles in atmospheric flight, and gunning down rebels with your walker!” what you saw was ingame game play and not all cutscene.

Blixtev wouldn't know, do you really think Lucasarts would tell them about a new SW MMO which isn't going to be out for several years? No, what they'd do is keep SOE in the dark so they can keep getting (what is now) a small amount of money each month from the licence.
The future in PC RPG's is the MMORPG's. Bioware, LEC and EA know this, they're not going to avoid that market... especially with a title as big as Star Wars.
Either way I doubt SWG would go away anyway, SWG is like that half dead mule that's immune to bullets and just won't fucking die and put everyone out of they're misery. The fact that the KOTOR game is set in a different timeline (which is less popular than SWG's one) means that some stubborn people will stay in SWG. I can however say that SWG's population will drain even lower (it's estimated to be 30k-ish at the moment).

People at SOE are far more likely to know than say, you. Considering a lot of Bioware Austin IS ex-SOE.

About Hoth... finally. I think players have been asking for Hoth since... well, it's been years. I hope it works out for those that still play.
Hoth should of been done as an expansion planet instead of Mustafar, it would of fit more in the SWG timeline. People have been asking for Hoth since the beginning and they ignored it twice when considering new planets.
It's good they're finally getting it, though in a watered down raid form. I hope the people who can still tolerate SWG enjoy it!

Well, since a Bioware DEV has stated "kinda" that its going to me a star wars MMO.
So, I for one hope that the raped soul of SWG will die.
Besides i guess pretty much of the people who plays SWG atm only plays it for the star warsy "feeling".
Guess that feeling will be 1000 times better in a new star wars mmo, since well, nge sucks.
and yeah, fanobis, i will smile and buy my self a burger and watch the Oboards burst in flames, when the Bioware mmo hits the market.
Starwars Galaxies, An Empier Diveded, That's what it says on my box anyway.
And I will enjoy watching these boards explode when the true nature of the Bioware/LEC/EA product details are released.
Think of how you can currently play Diablo 2 online, by yourself or quest with a few of your friends, thats the "MMO" thats coming.
You seem to think it's a bigger chance to a diablo mmo type, than a full blown.....
I dunno why they would hire EA as publishers, for one thing.
Besides, mmorpgs seems to be the thing now, really.
bah, what am i doing here.
Screw you (NGE) guys, i'm going home
