Of coarse I'll be playing.  Also, I wish they were offering a lifetime subscription like LOTRO did.  I'd easily pay $200-$300 for lifetime for this game.

I got into the preview by buying the preorder at Target for one dollar.

There is auto follow but only on a good guy, not enemy player.

No, I find the game quite boring.

But at least it runs smooth and the devs don't take the piss.

So it will do well, although I don't see it people playing it for years.

It won't be the WoW killer.

Of course I am going to buy, that is no doubt.

I even try looking for more pre-order boxes so my other friends can play this sept 7th.

Now those are hard to find after this past weekend in Miami, FL. I went yesterday to pick up 2 pre-order boxes for my friends and Wal-Mart, Target and Best Buy do not carry the pre-order boxes anymore.

If you live where I live, shoot me a PM if you know a place that has a few left, I would appreciate it.

I preordered the Collector's Edition, got into the Preview Weekend and am extremely glad I did.

I can't wait for Head Start.

    I'll be playing my Archmage!

I was thinking the same thing.  It would be a smart idea for them to offer it for people who bought it within a week of release.  Chances are most of the people that initially buy it wont be playing for 1.5 years. So they could really make a few extra bucks that way.

I played, I saw , I did a little dance. I loved it and I can't wait now for open beta and for the game to go live.  To me it was fun I had lots of options on what I wanted to do.

If you shift-right-click on a mob, you auto-loot.  I don't know if it's not specifically documented but I figured it was probably going to work and it did, just like WoW.  The same shift-right-click works for scavenging & butchering.

I didn't try it personally, but there is a command to "/follow <target>".  I'd assume it would follow.

Yes, I am definitely buying WAR, and so are all my buds.

I'm really happy with the graphical performance.  50+ players on my 24" LCD @ 1920 x 1200 running on an outdated 8600 GT at 30+ FPS.  There aren't any options to turn on AA in beta, and I don't think all the lighting is in place yet.  We'll see if the eye candy they add in release means I'll need to get a new video card.

WAR is like WoW only with all the cool combat taken out.

There's nothing like the warrior skill charge in WAR

There's nothing like the warlock spell fear in WAR

There's nothing like the rogue skill distract in WAR, or stealth.

You won't shield bash to interrupt a skill in WAR

    and so on

WAR is a new game, WAR is a pvp game, it should have more combat features than a game that's four years old.

There's nothing in WAR combat wise that you can't get in any free to play MMO.

Not at launch but maybe in the future if they fix all my problems with the game. However obviously people will vote yes on mmorpg.com and WAR forums because this site is a place for all the fanbois to come to and doesn't reflect in the slightest of the success of a game or the mass market opinions. For example most people on these forums hate WOW and yet WOW is the most loved and popular mmorpg out there.

I reckon WAR will have the same success and fall of AOC.

Yeah I am. The preview weekend managed to entertain me pretty well and I usually don't enjoy playing a lot when I know that there's going to be a character wipe. Also it's been around 10~20 months since I last played an MMO for longer than a week.

If I end up getting bored way too fast.. Then I guess I'll just get some distance from this genre, unless Darkfall manages to make me feel a little faithful again.

I was very impressed with the preview weekend and can't wait to play the game for open beta and official release.

The public quests were such a pleasant surprise.  Jump in when you like.  Leave when you want.  Hopefully, after release, healers will be more inclined to heal us tanks keeping them safe, but I think that will come as people learn their classes.

The RvR was also a pleasant surprise.  The first few times I played a scenario, it was mostly comprised of random zerging, which didn't work well at all.  Eventually, each side actually worked as a team and things got very interesting.  The tier 1 open RvR areas were also a lot of fun, trying to storm and keep control of a few key positions.

My biggest issue with the game at this point is class balancing.  With five destruction allies, including three straight dps classes, we were unable to take down a single warrior priest which is completely unacceptable.  Assuming that issue and the pathing problems are taken care of, I see no reason I won't be hooked on the game at release.

    No.

I quite playing wow back in december, so my anticipation for WAR was through the roof from being on a MMO dryspell for 8 months. I found the graphics fine, the CTD were fine I got like 3 on Friday and 0 on Saturday and Sunday, I didn't like the career paths. I think all the characters are similar. The bright wizard and sorc are OP already compared to melee dps. Tank classes are fairly balanced, but melee dps sucks in my opinion for RVR. I got a lvl 11 witch hunter and lvl 8-9 bright wizards were popping out 10k more dps on the meters than me. gfy, if you think that its cause they had more skill. First they litterally had less skills and abibilities and I had about 3-4 more abilities than them, but yet they could hit me in the face for 500dmg twice before I even get to them. RVR is so wild and crazy, even if there was order it wouldn't appeal to me.

I think the game feels to much like DAoC and Fury mixed together. Which means it using components from a 7 year old game along with a huge PVP mmo flop. I guess i'm just gonna wait for DD:O to come out for the 360.

    Waiting for:
Blizzards Next MMO in 2014, lol

People often say this, but I disagree.  I think Mythic has done quite a few things right, including allowing the preview weekend to go on without any major problems happening.  For the most part I haven't heard a single thing other then the basic "this is like WoW" "Thats like WoW" stuff that you hear when any MMO launches.  No big bugs that will become a dealbreaker.

Truthfully in comparison to AoC at this point and time of its release the WAR community is rather docile.  I think thats a good sign.   Besides Mythics support can't be nearly as bad as Funcom.

No to mention one of AoCs big sell points was their graphics.  Mythic did something right... they started with everyones expectations pretty low for the preview weekend.  High system specifications have so far been on big killer of MMOs, and one of the major reasons Vanguard bombed so badly.  Tons of technical glitches.. tons of graphical anomalies... amongst other things of course, but visually the game was unplayable.

I think this launch will be closer to LOTRO then it would be to AoC

I agree with everything but the OPness of the WP.  I was able to solo them  with my marauder.  Never got the chance with my chosen.  Gotta use those heal reducing abilities.  Also comboing them with Mouth of Tzeench (silence) and touch of rot (debuff that did damage everytime they did a physical ability) works well.

Next time you should check the skill trees before you post nonsense like this. All those are in the game and more. It actually has 3 Mastery trees for every class just like wow....oh wait, nevermind

Nothing has changed for me. I pre-ordered the CE a couple of months back and nothing has changed my mind or made me to regret my decision. I enjoyed the game for what it is, which is nothing too deep, while also not requiring huge amounts of time to be able to play the endgame effectively.

I'm loving it! Brings back memories of DAoC. Resist are going to play a major role in WAR as they did in DAoC to negate casters damage.

Based on polish I would guess that it will be in better shape than WoW and/or LOTRO on release day. Balance and the like will still be getting hammered out as more people figure out how to play their classes.

This game is awesome. Keep Sieges? Best PVP experience I've had in years now... and some of the Scenario's had wonderful design.

    That's a yes from me.

thats exactly what i was thinking. i guess they will cancel there preorder, it was 5 dollars or something. i bought from direct2drive so i paid in full. i cant wait! the game is way too awesome! i really enjoyed it, got to tier 2 on one toon, the world starts to get huge! anyone who didnt get out of tier one probably has a false impression of the game. tier one is a tutorial basically. the world in tier 2 is huge and only gets bigger, i heard tier 4 is massive!

and thats the reason so many of us like it.  no fear spamming, no stunlocking, no overpowered stealth.

however there ARE interupts, they just aren't called "shield bash".  I'm sorry the game doesn't have the exact same skills WoW does, but even your troll attempt is pretty sad.  besides you people have managed to stay mostly on topic... so getting back to it.

I'll be playing for at least 2 months after release, and if it looks like its going well I'll stick with it, if not I'll quit for 4-6 months and see if it has improved before I come back.  But there is no way I'm going to miss launch.

I tried playing AoC, I even gave it the benefit of the doubt and leveled to end game(if you can call it that).  I swiftly realized there was nothing to this game, and no-one pvp'd.

I pre-ordered for 5 dollars warhhamer from gamstop and was lucky enough to get into preview weekend, and boy was I glad I did.  Within the first 15 minutes I allready knew it was a better game than AoC.

All I can say is this.  Open Beta Starts Sept 7th, and I am having difficulty trying to find things to do until then, and my wife is going crazy too.

Preview weekend for warhammer was more successful than AoC was after 6 months of being out, For anyone to compare that Warhammer will fall like AoC is laughable.  Warhammer might not surpass subscribers in wow, but it certainly won't lack subscribers.  That and people seem to forget that like 7 million of "WOW's registered users" are all asian, probably a lot of them gold selling accounts and so on.

This game wil thrive just as wow did, Comparing Wow's "polished" factor is like comparing a bottle of wine you acquired 4 years ago and let sit, versus one you purchased that day.  Drink both, obviously one is going to have a better taste, but it's had longer to perfect.  Give Warhammer those 4 years of perfection and see where it's at.  It's just silly to compare the two.

-- Games are never as fun as their hype. It's still doing the same things as 90% of the MMOs ever since EQ1 wrote the template for 3D MMOs.

-- You can't ever be that newbie again. Not Warhammer, not WoW, not AoC, or any other MMO out there claiming originality.

-- You, I, and many other people won't be satisfied until once again we can be immersed,as newbs once more, into a mysterious realm of which we know nothing.
