I plan on playing the game and keeping my CE preorder.  I remmeber playing the OB of AoC and teh first 10 hours was more than enough for me to cancel my order there.  I like how the game is friendly to the casual player (me) as well as other players with more time.  Hope to see you all in there.

I must say that my hype for WAR was insanely high. I love PVE and I like PVP, so when I played naturally I expected more PVE. The PVE is there, but it isn't the best. I definitely didn't get the same feel as I did when I played WOW or EQ, EQ2. I found myself PVPing A LOT, but I would get burnt out.

Then about 45 minutes later I would log back on and continue to PVP. Its so very addicting and the value is different than PVE-ing for loot and farming. Overall my preview weekend was good because of this. I am glad it is not a textbook MMO and will filter out those that want to ruin a game by straight farming and loot whoring.

I'm buying and looking forward to playing retail.

    1.) The game is fun.

    2.) It is NOT WoW.

3.) It is NOT a "WoW killer".

4.) It is not "The One".

Fun is the key, it is a fun game with some innovative concepts.

Expectations are also key. Based on what I saw during the preview, the game is too rough around the edges to be exceptional, even though it is fun and in some areas innovative.

Not a WoW killer, but should be a solidly successful title.

It is NOT "The One". Combat is a bit clunky. AI can be pretty horrible. Pathing issues are bad.  Avatar customization offers zero improvement over WoW. Art direction is excellent, but graphics quality and performance for that level of quality are fairly poor.  Crafting is in alpha stages. Some animations are poor (seen a lot worse, but bad enough in some cases to snap you out of immersion in the game).

This is very subjective: while the world is well designed and fun to play,  on the spectrum of theme park to virtual world, it's a lot closer to theme park.

I'll cut it short there, I could go into much greater detail and cover more points of the pluses and minuses.

It's very fun. Should be a game most will play at least three months. However, it's far from perfect and I did find myself wishing the game had a few more months for polish and to tweak the way the game feels to play.

I will buy this game. It has everything I look forward to in an MMO plus more:

    1. RvR

    2. No mindless grinding

    3. Public Quests

    4. No anti-lore classes. i.e. Orc Rogue, Gnome Warrior etc.

    5. No 10+ people raiding of instances for gear which becomes obselete in the next patch.

    6. Have a look at the Inevitable City and you will know why :)

    7. Renown ranks. Tome of knowledge. Useful and meaningful stats.

    8. Balanced classes (not perfect but will get there, OP Ironbreaker and Warrior Priest lol)

Ted Treffon: No, I don't represent that either.

Yes!  I as well will be purchasing it.  I do not think it is the game to "kill" all other MMOs but it has the "FUN" element that I always look for in a game and for that I will purchase it.

Now I have been playing the game in closed beta for about 2 weeks, so I stayed away from it during the PW as I just did not want to have to do all the beginning quests all over again and did not want to spoil anything by doing them for the "umpteenth" time, and besides I was told by other friends that all the servers were pretty cramped up with tons of players.  It looks promising and I really enjoy the "Book" of knowledge (or whatever it is called).  I find getting XP for exploring every aspect of the game to be a huge bonus to my play-game time.  So yes I will purchase the game and hope that it only gets better.

Its worse to actually think about doing something then actually doing it!!!

I am undecided as I have some concerns for the game.

For starters why do High Elves and Dark Elve Male charachters look so fem, so gay?

There arent enough differences between order and chaos classes.

I dont care for the battlegrounds as they are typically very small.

WARHAMMER for me just isnt close enough to DAOC.

Maybe the difference in melee dps and a casters dps becomes more apparent as higher lvls are achieved but for now bleh...

I may buy it. I would like more time playing and getting more into the BW.

Maybe Im just burnt out on games. Nothing has seemed very fun lately.

I had more fun than I thought I would.  Pleasantly surprised.

The combat is different than CoH/WoW etc, and it was a bit slower.  But that doesn't mean it's worse, just different.  A lot less spamming certain keys, and more about use your abilities effectively.

I played a High Elf Swordmaster, and it was interesting in that you had to go through different combos to fight effectively.  And although they typically started out the same -- opening move -- you progressed through your "dance" in different ways, depending on the particulars of the fight.

I like that, and I was surprised I did.  Took me a long time to kill stuff, but it was fun to play one of the classes a lot of others didn't.  There will be a ton of Witch Hunters and Bright Wizards, and to be honest -- they ARE a blast to play.  Still, I always like to play the classes most others don't.

-- Games are never as fun as their hype. It's still doing the same things as 90% of the MMOs ever since EQ1 wrote the template for 3D MMOs.

-- You can't ever be that newbie again. Not Warhammer, not WoW, not AoC, or any other MMO out there claiming originality.

-- You, I, and many other people won't be satisfied until once again we can be immersed,as newbs once more, into a mysterious realm of which we know nothing.

    I won't..

Got nothing bad to say about it either, so sorry to disappoint, its just not for me.

Loved it......very impressed with how stable and how few bugs there were.

    im buying!

  • Foxman13Foxman13 Member Posts: 22

    I will be buying it.

This is very casual friendly and it provides the "quick and dirty" feel I need from an MMO nowadays since I don't have the time to dedicate anymore.

My only complaint, and I see it is being addresses already, is the client crashes. If they fix the list of items they need to before launch, it will be a good time.

Hey Didn't you have a post where you whined about the twinks ruining WAR and how you where to stupid not to Kill the healer and go the the armor mercent and get your gear. In that same post did you not complain about how the armor was to much and how you could not aford it. You sound like troller or a realy crapy player to me.

don't insult the naysayers... the game is not for everyone... some are bound not to like it and some are bound to only look at the issues... i havent had 1 CTD for example... so i can't complain... and it's fun...

I pre-ordered the CE about 4 and a half seconds after they sent out the email saying that it was available. Of course, I've been in CB for a while, so I knew how much fun the game was already. But still....

Damn skippy I'm buying the game. I'd buy a lifetime sub if they had it. Soooooo much to do in WAR. And likewise soooooooo many classes that all play quite differently.

I've already got my preorder from Best Buy. Being a TT warhammer player and a DAOC vet this is a no brainer. They are doing alot right and if they can just fix some bugs, balance the classes, and be active with the players they will have more subs than they expected.
