You realize thats only the first part of it right? There are 80 renown levels to go through as well, and those let me tell you take some time for sure..

So, you actually enjoy grinding? And that's your main reason for not buying or planning to play WAR?
What makes you think you will get to 40 in 2 weeks?
They want people to get to 40 quickly so you can start lvling renown levels, and do what the game is about which is "RVR" God forbid a developer actually wants you to have FUN!!?!? I see you play lineage 2, that explains it.

I see you played Vanguard, if only briefly, but you'll understand the concept of the spheres there.
I can liken Warhammer to that in a way with their being Rank, Renown Rank, Tome of Knowledge and to a lesser extent Crafting all there to be leveled up.
I think that if you played in a balanced way, paying attention to all 'spheres' then it would take a very long time to reach the level cap in everything.
It's not just about Rank 1-40.
from what the developers say...they wabt you to get to 40 as soon as posible.
and yes i enjoy grinding...

1-40 is similar to 1-60 in WoW .
problem is im not gonna be a hardcore rvr player so thats not really good for me hehe

Only the hardcore lifeless people will grind and reach 40 in 2 weeks.. Are you even going to try the open beta?

Then I wouldn't recommend this game for you, why would you of been looking forward to it when it was clear that this game was HEAVILY RVR focused?

i was gonna do some rvr...but mainly pve...they said that there was gonna be allot of pve..
but that is lacking acording to beta testers

i didnt see that developer post but wouldnt it contradict the tier system ?
i mean what use are the lower (level) tiers if people would rush thrue them in a matter of a few days?

I've been in beta for a long time and its not that fast, doesn't seem any faster than say WoW for example.. 20+ goes quite slow.

I find your reason a pretty sad excuse ( oh boy I seem to be using this allot this morning...Meh)
Who is forcing you to speed lvl? the game?, afcourse not, you do understand that the only one who will force you to speed lvl is YOU and YOU only, not a game, not it's company, not the progression path, just YOU.
Also try spending some time on forums and you will see and learn that waiting for a game for such a long time has never proven to be the best way as most who are waiting for such a long time proof on forums to be the once who mostly become disappointed with such games. The longer people are waiting for a game ot be released the higher and more unrealistic their expectations seem to become.
1-60 took me three weeks in wow...thats fast imo

My reason for not buying it anymore is DF.
Before the video and announcement of Beta I was on my officer forums discussing the formation of the guild for WAR and was mildy excited for it just because i have been MMO-less for awhile and missed the old crowd.
Then when DF went nutso we basically were all in agreement that We'll still organize something for our members who want to only do WAR, but for the vast majority of us, we are gonna save our money for DF.
Now you may say uh what if it neve comes out?
Well WAR will always be there, and there is no rush to be there on day 1.
WAR is in september, and if DF Beta is in October, chances are some of us will get in it with a release to shortly follow. If beta goes well, then thats what we will be playing, so there is no point to spend the money on WAR and the time if we are just going to use it as a filler. And we are talking about a few $1000+ lost collectively if the guild all wastes money on a few months of WAR just to leave it.
WAR looks GREAT and will be around for awhile and be a great game, mark my words. But for some who were drooling over it for its RVR content...DF's PVP offers us a similar feeling x10000.
Though we will of course be keeping an eye on it closely and if DF doesnt come to light, we will be back. But right now DF offers way more for our guild so its really an easy call.

Darkfall Recap of everything that has happened the last 3 months: http://www.mmorpg.com/discussion2.cfm/thread/213296
"The monsters are tough. I was looking for a challenge, but these things are just too damn smart." -DF Beta Tester
"If people were dismissing it, then they wouldn't be talking about it. The well-meaning gamers root for efforts that try to raise the bar. So who's left? It's so easy being a skeptic." -Tasos
I don't think this game deserves to be called a MMORPG, more like MMOG, It's more dumbed down than WoW and you feel like you're being spoonfed the whole way. PvE is a joke, crafting is a joke, the ability system is a joke, you can just add your reknown points at whim if you don't like em, no penalty or anything. The only thing its got going for it is PvP, oh wait RvR (zerg vs zerg), meaning individual player skill goes out the door.
How the hell does this game scratch up to 2008? may of been great 4 years ago. Hell AoC was miles ahead of it, if it wasn't released a year early and if Failcom wasn't absolutely useless.
So OP if your looking for your more traditional MMO experience look elsewhere.
I'll give this game another shot in OB and see if much has changed but so far its a big MEH.
