I'm glad you posted this. Now I know that WARs target audience isn't people that like to spend 150 days / played to get to max lvl. It may shock you to realise that 97.5% of the population has a job
I never understand this mentality. I too have a job and a family and love a game that takes a long time to level in. I actually enjoy spending a long time in a game that I pay monthly for. I don't want it to end in a month or two. That would be silly considering these games are about building long lasting social connections and living in a online world.
To all those who found the topic or comments of the OP bewildering, annoying, or needlessly dramatic, don't feel bad. SgtFrog is still trying to leave his mark on some forum. He has yet to make a decent post anywhere on this site. He trolls every game there is. I am becoming convinced he doesn't like anything more than complaining, except maybe the sound of his own voice. Although I expect to hear him flame that soon as well.
He made a nice apology for trolling (and admitting to it) in the Darkfall forums earlier.
This post is more of a 'left-handed' trolling post. Designed to make people comment/argue but not an overt. 'This game SUX'.
My problem with these kinds of postings is that some folks might be swayed into not playing, folks who might actually enjoy the game (any game) if they tried it. But they see one too many of these 'passive knock' posts and miss out thinking, 'This guy isn't ranting. He must know the truth.'

im sorry if this was seen as trolling. really was not meant to be.
i think people took it the wrong way, i never said the game was bad.

As I said, this kind of post only takes away from potential players who might enjoy the game, mate. You say you aren't playing because of something as yet unproven. If you want to leave because you are sure it isn't for you, fine but you aren't helping (and are potentially taking away from) others who haven't made up their minds when you make a post like this. All because of something 'You think' not something 'You KNOW.'
*shrug* Such as it is. And I honestly don't think you were deliberately attempting to troll in this post.
Go play GuildWars then you see what quick leveling is, I got my character max level in less than 10 hours. A friend of me had it in 2,5 hours of powerleveling. Well I like to level quick to the maximum so everybody is equal in PvP

il wait and see what people say when the game comes out. if the levellign is not as easy as fast as i though i will apologize (so if it takes longer than 250 hours i will apologize)
but im just going on what iv heard from the devs and beta players.

I for one appreciate the original poster's post. I am still deciding on whether I want to pay for the game and try it. Since MMORPGs usually do not have free trials at the beginning I come to game forums to learn about features of the game and attempt to try open beta. In this case I may not because I don't want to get stuck with the game because open beta is so close to release and it would ship from amazon.
Post like these bring out information that I can use to make my decision. Thanks for the post. I have learned a lot about leveling in Warhammer from the post after skipping all the useless flame post. I think I may still try the game so far, it sounds like a different approach with renown levels at the end, hopefully they do take some time. I do like a longer leveling from the beginning but I may still give Warhammer a chance. We will see I am still gathering information.

guild wars is not an mmorpg imo
its just a fanatsy based pvp game like tf2 or cs:s
iv been waiting for this game for two years...and two weeks before luanch iv decided not to get it...
the reason is speedy levelling...i really cant stand games with speedy levelling.
i like to take time to to know and master my class. not get to 40 in a week or two and not know how the hell to use my charecter.
ah well i guess the only game im waiting for is aion...hehe
good luck all with warhammer hope ya have a great time all
You are correct, leveling is rather fast compared to many games though it feels to me to be about on par with other games in the market. Mythic made this decision early on in the development cycle.
I will say, however, that there are multiple leveling curves within Warhammer. Yes, one can expect to reach character rank 40 in a rather speedy time. To hit Renown Rank 80 though is a completely different matter.
With that said thanks for the good wishes, hope you find something that appeals to you.
I bought 3 copies of WAR for me and my kids. We will be playing it for a long time and its the perfect game for us. My point is, everyone has their own opinion. Good luck with your future gaming!
