Why are you so hung up on the fact that the majority needs is all that matters, there's something called niche marketing. Not everything has to be bigger=better. There's a lot of niche products our there that cater for a small amount of customers who are willing to pay premium price to get the product they're looking for.

I like discussions, not neccesarily to win them (there doesn't have to be a winner or a loser) but to exchange ideas. While not being happy with what WAR has become that doesn't mean I want to bash it or state "it's all crap". I will however express my opinion and as long as my 'adversary' (if you want to call it that) keeps to reasoning instead of mindless drivel it's all good.

Well, that's true to a point. Thing is (for me at least) I mostly check/post on MMORG if I'm in between MMO's or bored to crap. If I'd be happy with the MMO I'm playing (or otherwise occupied) I wouldn't be here, I'd be posting on the official forums for that MMO or just playing the game. That's the nature of a site that's dedicated to bring all kinds of info on every MMO out there (that's worth mentioning).
Thing is ofcourse that people like to whine and if at all possible blame others for their own mistakes and shortcomings. We all do it, i wine about the fact that I envisioned WAR to be DAoC, you wine about the rfact that you get annoyed by winers.

I agree with most of this post. Except I bought the Collector's edition of vanguard for 15 bucks.. and it was for sure not a waste of money. aoc was probably the biggest waste of money.

Play more of the game. It's not an open world like Vanguard is, and if you are in love with that game, you probably won't like this one (What server did you play on BTW?).. This is not a typical RPG game. This is sort of like a FPS.. with some pve mixed in.

Art is subjective, but man, the game to me looks and feels like it was made for 8 year olds. I grew tired of it in 15 min much less can I imagine myself spending HOURS in this world. I understand that it's based on the Warhammer IP and this predates WOW by 20 years but I still don't like it. The art, in a word, sucks. The movement is VERY clunky and annoying. It's terrible. The character customization is a flat out JOKE. Not to mention the class choices left me unsatisfied. I found that there was not ONE SINGLE CLASS that I wanted to play. The way the zones are set up is especially uninspiring. Not only are they smallish, but there is only a tiny portion of it set aside for RvR. I just don't like the design as it feels like an afterthought; and it was, according to the developers (originally they planned to have instanced "scenario" battles only). Oh, and no player housing? No thanks. In fact, I'm kinda pissed I bought into the hype. Paul Barnett is a great personality and he hyped this game to the max. But it's just not fun to play. My 2 cents.

Graphics and player housing are really low on my list of priorities but personally I like the graphics. I certainly like them more than CoH or EQ2 or Vanguard or WoW which are all much less than 8 years old.

No your views are totally respected and understood. I do not in anyway try to belittle you above. If a better game pops up, we will surely try them out. Right now, we (me and family) have yet to found the next better game, so we settle down for now.
Fact is, our family retains game accounts for 3 games, WAR, WoW and CoX. Every evening if we do not go out for strolls, we would vote on a game or a movie. We found choices a blessing in itself. Last night, arguing with the little baby and having him trying to explain why he want to play a certain game is in itself very entertaining. You cannot believe how fast babies learn.
We also exercise the vote of the wallet all too often. We axed AoC 2 weeks into launch, and yes we lost $89 in two accounts. Luckily we have the financial means to absorb that, and we consider the $89 a minor fee in exploration of a good family game. Its not much, its less than the gasoline cost driving around looking for a good picnic spot.

I played DAoC, it still ranks as the number 1 in my memory, above SWG. Yes its history, the game ends with ToA, and the population is already gone. DAoC is a game that carries the day with its RvR players, when the servers are deserted, the game is dead.
I do not look forward to DAoC 2. I do not start with a preconception of what should be for each game. I just take it, play-test it ($1 pre order for this case, and WAR is very generous in this aspect). If I like the game as a package I sub, if not I moved on. I tried AoC and moved on, yes I paid for 2 big boxes. I am still trying out WAR, and so far I like it. The young one at home is very fanatic about it. I do not challenge his baby zeal, I do not ask him why. Why would I challenge you or anyone else.
Maybe I am less "frustrated" b/c I don't harbor any pre-conceived expectations. I also feel no conflict between games, and see each and every game as an option. There is no need to fanatically defend a game and exclude all other games. Simultaneous sub to more than 1 game actually provides choices during the evenings when I want to log in with my family and friends.
No need to whine, its just a game, and its just one of the many choices for entertainment. It is just one option during the few odd spare hours of a day. No biggie.
Personally even if I do like very realistic ones I do enjoy "cartoonish" ones like WoW and WAR. for me it's empowering the FUN as it gives the folowing statement : this is a game and you are here to have fun.
Now about housing and so. As a former SWG house decorator. Yes I did spent hunderd of hours furnishing houses... I have no issues with the lack of it. I'd say it might come to display our trophies and I guess it would be nice.
The main issue I have with WAR and any MMO since SWG is the lack of socialisation.

Check again. I bash people that bash games. Nice of you to check the first couple pages, but in case you didn't notice I've been a member since 2005. Well, that's true to a point. Thing is (for me at least) I mostly check/post on MMORG if I'm in between MMO's or bored to crap. If I'd be happy with the MMO I'm playing (or otherwise occupied) I wouldn't be here, I'd be posting on the official forums for that MMO or just playing the game. That's the nature of a site that's dedicated to bring all kinds of info on every MMO out there (that's worth mentioning).
Thing is ofcourse that people like to whine and if at all possible blame others for their own mistakes and shortcomings. We all do it, i wine about the fact that I envisioned WAR to be DAoC, you wine about the rfact that you get annoyed by winers.

the biggest money wastes i ever done, has to be that i acturly payed real money to play Everquest 2, Vanguard & Lord of the Rings Online... not to mention Age of Conan.

I agree with most of this post. Except I bought the Collector's edition of vanguard for 15 bucks.. and it was for sure not a waste of money. aoc was probably the biggest waste of money.
And to the original poster..
Play more of the game. It's not an open world like Vanguard is, and if you are in love with that game, you probably won't like this one (What server did you play on BTW?).. This is not a typical RPG game. This is sort of like a FPS.. with some pve mixed in.

Then there is totally no conflict. Some gamers including me like WAR so far, for what it is. I for one do not daydream and I do not want to pretend to know what things could be should be would be. If I can have my dreams come true, I should be so rich that I do not have to travel and post here.
Sorry that your dreams do not come true. Lucky for me I have no dreams, and I pick the games that I find most fun, when I have to log online to kill some time.
So do I, and since I don't like what WAR is (has become) I vote with my wallet and play something else. Doesn't mean that my ideas and concerns are any less valid.
No your views are totally respected and understood. I do not in anyway try to belittle you above. If a better game pops up, we will surely try them out. Right now, we (me and family) have yet to found the next better game, so we settle down for now.
Fact is, our family retains game accounts for 3 games, WAR, WoW and CoX. Every evening if we do not go out for strolls, we would vote on a game or a movie. We found choices a blessing in itself. Last night, arguing with the little baby and having him trying to explain why he want to play a certain game is in itself very entertaining. You cannot believe how fast babies learn.
We also exercise the vote of the wallet all too often. We axed AoC 2 weeks into launch, and yes we lost $89 in two accounts. Luckily we have the financial means to absorb that, and we consider the $89 a minor fee in exploration of a good family game. Its not much, its less than the gasoline cost driving around looking for a good picnic spot.

I played DAoC, it still ranks as the number 1 in my memory, above SWG. Yes its history, the game ends with ToA, and the population is already gone. DAoC is a game that carries the day with its RvR players, when the servers are deserted, the game is dead.
I do not look forward to DAoC 2. I do not start with a preconception of what should be for each game. I just take it, play-test it ($1 pre order for this case, and WAR is very generous in this aspect). If I like the game as a package I sub, if not I moved on. I tried AoC and moved on, yes I paid for 2 big boxes. I am still trying out WAR, and so far I like it. The young one at home is very fanatic about it. I do not challenge his baby zeal, I do not ask him why. Why would I challenge you or anyone else.
Maybe I am less "frustrated" b/c I don't harbor any pre-conceived expectations. I also feel no conflict between games, and see each and every game as an option. There is no need to fanatically defend a game and exclude all other games. Simultaneous sub to more than 1 game actually provides choices during the evenings when I want to log in with my family and friends.
No need to whine, its just a game, and its just one of the many choices for entertainment. It is just one option during the few odd spare hours of a day. No biggie.
OP, well regarding graphics you like them or not.
Personally even if I do like very realistic ones I do enjoy "cartoonish" ones like WoW and WAR. for me it's empowering the FUN as it gives the folowing statement : this is a game and you are here to have fun.
Now about housing and so. As a former SWG house decorator. Yes I did spent hunderd of hours furnishing houses... I have no issues with the lack of it. I'd say it might come to display our trophies and I guess it would be nice.
The main issue I have with WAR and any MMO since SWG is the lack of socialisation.
Maybe this is not your kind of game but trust me it IS fun!

I couldn't choose between Ironbreaker, Warrior Priest, and Swordmaster so I rolled all three, and all three are awesome.
