Nope.  I tried to like the game several times, but it just never happened.

Warhammer is not a terrible game, but after seeing the Wraith beta for WOW, there is simply no reason to play a game that feels very 'old'.    The warhammer battlegrounds in particular just blew my mind... why did they take the two worst battlegrounds in WOW and model their scenarios after them.   Seiging took a step backwards from DAoC because you can't even control the seige weapons.
If you compare Warhammer pvp to WOW's pvp 3 years ago, Warhammer is the clear choice.  But the things Blizzard did with Wraith just puts in far ahead of Warhammer.

Warhammer is not built around scenarios.. its built around OPEN world pvp, taking keeps and objectives in the open world.. iam sorry that you got to lvl 7 and hated the whole game.

You show how much you also know because you do control siege weapons.. such as hot oil above doorways, catapults, arrow repeaters, battering rams for keep doors.. and many others.

it shows that you NEVER open world pvp'd and only got to no lvl past Tier 1..

Maybe i will go to the battleground and open world pvp in wow at lvl 7, maybe do all the awsome dungeons/pve content  and judge how great the game is.. You made yourself seem pretty ignorant in the fact of posting your opinion on something you have not even experianced fully..

Edit: maybe you mean control siege weapons by moving them?

Wow has 70 levels, warhammer has 40 right? Well, you can't do anything on wow until about level 14 as far as instancing goes. You'll get tired of instancing after a while on wow. By the time you hit level 70 you'll be so sick of instancing you'll take long breaks from wow due to the annoying players in 25 man raids to get amazing gear. Btw, sadly I just may MAY order WOTLK. That's, just to try the new class. But, I seriously doubt I will. It would be a good time to start over on wow though. I'm enjoying warhammer so we'll see. I have a big disliking for wow because it takes gear to do anything in that game which takes hours out of ur time every day. What's good about warhammer is you can play for the amount of time u want and get off. You aren't strapped to your chair if you get in an rvr scenario. Whereas, wow you get in an instance and you're pretty much strapped to your chair for 2 hours or more.

I am definitely subscribing to this game. It'll be the bread and butter of my entertainment for some time to come. About the only thing that MIGHT take me away from this game is Darkfall...but I'm not holding my breath.

Sure will be subbing. Most of the complainers here were expecting a game that does not exist and, in my opinion, will not exist unless a huge slice of the MMORPG fanbase have a lobotomy.

To the OP and everyone who agrees with him, maybe you should quit MMOs for a while and do something else for a while. To those that say the servers are empty, what do you expect after two weeks, 10 millions subs. I saw people complaining on these forums last week that they had to queue to get to play, it wouldn't surprise me if they're the same people that are not complaining there's nobody here. All of you will never be satisfied, accept it and move on.

I have seen no lag, the bugs I have seen are not game breaking, I am not bored, the RvR is fun. Yes I will resub.

Not gonna subscribe because of stuttery play. I can't play a game that is laggy for me. I'm really disappointed in their game engine but maybe it will be fine tuned in the future.

It mystifies me that the recommended specs are almost identical to LoTRO's and I play that game in "Very High" graphic settings with no lag and play War in the "Fastest Framerate" mode and get sporadic lag EVERYWHERE. And I'm sorry but the world looks butt ugly in the lowest settings LOL!

Of course I will. I'll also be keeping up a WoW account. I love both games. I've been taking it real slow with WAR so that most of the bugs are fixed before I get to higher levels. I play WoW for my PvE and RP fix and I play WAR for the awesome PvP and RvR.

I will say something referring to your post. Warhammer DOES take up way too much memory to run which contributes to it's lag from time to time. That's one of the reasons I close all programs but winamp when I run warhammer. I wish it used less memory.

    Agreed

Compared to the releases of Vanguard, LotRO and AoC, i have had a great time playing this release. I have the settings onm high, little lag and tons of rvr fun. Just what i was hoping for basically.

I won't be subbing to the game. I guess I can point out alot of things I didn't like but the bottom line is that the game is not entertaining enough for me to warrant my 15 a month for the game.  After you reach level 40 rvr turns into a pvp grind to renown 80. Chances are I will be going back to Lotro, Guild Wars and waiting for Fallout 3. Good luck to those who are continuing!

I will be subbing. I will be continuing the game play.

I don't care what people say about it. I don't care about the other games which I have already tried.

I like this game and am willing to pay to play. That's all that matters in the end. It's my money and my time.

I started MMOs with the original EQ.  Started on PvP server and will only play MMOs with PvP servers.  This is by far, the best PvP MMO i have ever played and the PvE is easily good enough.  However I do realize there are some tech issues, but I would fully expect them to be fixed in the coming patches.  I have already re-subbd and hope to be around for a long time.  The only thing thta could cause me to reconsider in the coming months is if Mythic does not address bugs/tech issues.  But they cant be that ignorant as to not already be hard at work on this.  The game just came out, I like it enough to give them a chance to get it all worked out.

No. Mythic cut way too many corners to appear to EA that they were frugal. Maybe if they had spent less money on useless marketing hype and more on actual development, we would be looking at a far different game. There is no depth, no sense of immersion, no real community, only conflict. I never get the feeling that I'm playing with other people, only soulless bots in a neverending tug-of-war over territory. Mythic is banking on big guilds to float this title. I'm not a guild-type person. I don't need or want a mob around me to accomplish anything in a game. You're not close to being a hero in this game, just a cog in a series of wheels, indistinct from every other cog of your type.

Mythic wants to stay distant from their customers. That's their prerogative, but it's not one I have to pay for. They shoveled out a sloppy product and hide behind fansites from paying customers with legitimate concerns. Mythic doesn't want to invest in a community, they just want adoring fans who gratefully gobble up any half-baked content they come up with. I used to respect Mythic and cut them some slack for being an independent design house. They can't use that excuse anymore, yet they're still using the same business philosophy.

I love the Warhammer RP, but WAR is a pale shadow. I'll get the WoW expansion and I have a LOTRO Lifetime. It would take something really special to coax me back to WAR and I don't think Mythic cares enough to make the effort.

YES. I think it had a nice launch the game has glimmers of greatness and the fact that I'm having as much fun as I am despit the unstability and the few bugs it has... well that says a lot.

I am not sure, I want to experience RvR properally first before I decide to resubscribe. But the population doesnt really support it on the servers I have played at the moment.

If I were to base it off of not experiencing RvR properally I would say no as I have said in my first impressions in another thread the other parts of the game are solid but nothing special.

If the PvP activity increases then I will stick around because all this game is really lacking appart from the population is polish.

For instance the combat system at the moment is very slow and sluggish, but I think that could be fixed with tweaks to the cooldowns, and fixes for the animations. The problem with chat can be fixed by including zone wide channals, etc All of the problems I have with the game can deffinatly be fixed. I don't think there are any major flaws with the game mechanics that could prevent the game from ever getting better.

The community can not be fixed ie its full of ass hats now it will most likely still be full of ass hats at the end of the month. But that can solved by finding a decent guild. So it is not to big of a concern at the moment.

As for the game having nothing special, it still has a very solid foundation to build on, so it is not beyond hope, RvR, and the PvP in general could grow to be fantastic. Ill wait and see basically, I dont think all these problems will be fixed by the end of the trial but hopefully if the RvR is enjoyable then it will give me a reason to stick around.

I already canceled my sub. At the moment, I'm still trying to find the class for me. Unless I find one that I want to stick with I won't be resub'ing.

I didn't resub for AoC, but I'll be playing WAR for months.  I'm into it, and I think it's a great game.  Maybe I'm lucky but I haven't really had the same problems with lag.  Every now and then I have some slight lag, but honestly, not much.

My biggest complaint so far is that when I look at the world map, I want to be able to scroll out and back in on an area adjacent to where I'm at now and I haven't figured out how (or if) you can do that.  I sometimes want to see if the RVR point on the next area up is taken and not have to run all the way to that area to see that portion of the map.

Other than that, I'm really digging the game.  I LOVE the open party system where I can pop in and pop out of a part instead of begging retards for an invite only to be ignored.

Yes, I will be resubscribing at the end of the month. It is rare that I find a MMORPG that I actually have fun with and am not bored with after a week. I likw WAR and plan to explore the game to its fullest.

Sorry can't agree on that. I agree that the game probably is fun to play, but I just never had high enough FPS to experience that. Also the damn rubberband lagg issues killed the fun totally. WH is on my shelf at least for the next 3 months till Mythic got their stuff together.

  • RexNebularRexNebular Member Posts: 259

If Mythic changes the game in such way that you'll be getting more xp from RvR. prompting people to participate in open world PvP, instead of grinding scenarios, then yes, I'll resubscribe. I believe they admitted they're aware of the problem. We'll see how they deal with it.

  • cukimungacukimunga Member UncommonPosts: 2,258

I will renew after free time is up. This game is awesome and I really don't have any lag problems even while doing sieges with full warparty against a defending warparty.

I don't know what people are talking about a broken chat system It works just fine for me.  If they are complaning about linking items. who cares this isn't WoW.

Yes, of course I will. I can't think of a better use for 15 bucks :)

Just a question for those that have canceled their accounts: Does it ask you for any feedback or a reason you are canceling your account? I'm interested in whether Mythic is collecting info on why people are canceling.
