Nope, not the game for me. Too much population imbalance between tiers and between realms. Also i found the characters rather dull and boring to play. Too much dmg overtime and healing overtime and not enough direct.
Definitely not. Scenario PvP is lame. This game mind as well be Guild Wars 2, but worse because they force you to level up in a game where they spent about 5 minutes on the PvE aspects of the game. Sure, PQ's are cool, but 40 levels of it gets old. Yeah, I know you can level with PvP, but world PvP is non existent b/c everyone just sits in town and queues up.
I have to say, I have never been this unexcited to play an MMO in the first month as I have with this one.
Warhammer flat out sux, sorry I was hyped for 1 1/2 years on this dumb game, but now I can't stand it.
I'm going to resubscribe, I'm never going to quit this game, but I'm going to be extremely casual, and if the subscriber base drops below a certain level, I'll quit, but if it doesn't and is steady, I'll keep playing.
But for now, I'm going to be resubscribing, I just don't like western style MMOs anymore, Warahmmer, a huge dissapointment
If you guys (particularly shadow warriors) are dieing to melee you're doing something wrong >_> for the most part my melee friends seem to be having a difficult time dealing with the other team much more so then I would be.
I will be resubbing and incredibly glad to have bought a CE ^^
no i will not resub i bought the whole world pvp thing. only now i realize pvp in war is not much different then wow in that there is no world pvp just scenarios (bg's anyone)and boxed pvp in the rvr zones outside that the world is statisc and has no world capture points that i've seen. i keep getting told the game begins at endgame why make a game i have to grind 40 levels just to get to the start or the game
I have to agree with this post, most people like war because they are still in Tier 1 or Tier 2, Wait till they hit Tier 3+ and see how the exp curve goes so far up they will start to wounder why they are even trying anymore!
It's called an MMO. It's designed to be an ever-changing game that will take a lot of time to play and get good at. Because so many people spend so many hours on their MMOs, it makes sense to make the majority of the game take place at the endgame.
When it comes down to it, each MMO has two different games: the leveling "game" and the endgame. Leveling is all about the experience of the world and the learning of your character. The endgame is all about the use of your character once they have reached their maximum potential (gear aside).
Does that answer why you need to level 40 times to get to the meat of the game? It's not a single player game where you reach the "end" and it's all over. The "end" is just the beginning for those of us who play MMOs. (ie: not you guys who level to the cap and then quit)

Will you understand if I tell you, WAR gives you meat starting Rank 1? Do you understand? You know it means you have to start playing NOW, not after you have levelled 40 times.
You will level, it's inevitable. But this is a MMO where you have to (repeat) start playing and enjoying NOW.

I can post another dozen pictures like that (BTW I'am a WL not a SW)desto side is just full with tanking classes which need 3-4 people to take down, most of the time it feels like i'am hitting a brick wall with a rubber mallet. And what worrys me i've started to see premades with just tanking classes and a few healers thrown in.
Yeah, I will, for the first time I enjoy PvP, so that counts for something. I'll definitely renew. This doesn't mean that I leave other games behind me. I still like to play Lotro, Conan and many other games.

Maybe its just servers then, because I see a good mix between melee and range (or an appropriate one I guess) on my order server, but once I play my destruction server I do see this trend (only mass tanks and some healers on order, not destruction). More often then not I find myself frustrated at the sudden death from a sorc more then some chosen or marauder on my order server, though.
I guess I was a lucky one then, dont have any problems with population on my server (Eltharion-EU), sometimes we get our asses handed to us on a plate by order, sometimes we (destruction) clean the floor with order, its been like that since I started playing and its been awesome. I dont really feel the population imbalance, maybe playing with a guild helps alot too.
Tried to play it for 12 days. Terrible game, lacks about everything Wow (and a LOT of other MMORPG's) has to offer. If this was the industry standard, it would be completely buried with the upcoming WotLK and guess what... it will be buried by WotLK and justly so. Cancelled CE after open beta and prelaunch (Tx to Goa for the free "extra days" - but War depresses me so, I can't even launch it anymore). Yes it is that bad. 5 days later now ... I even think AoC was a better game... AoC had more depth with that city building. We'll see a plunge of subs in Nov. 60% will just drop out of pure boredom by the end of November.
WoW is a Terrible Game, lacks everything about what a MMORPG should have to offer (PvP).
WAR is the industry standard, WoW is just a buried old hag. WotLK will be a complete failure in comparison to there "wannabe" battleground.
I cancelled my WoW CE before open beta, it depressed me so much I couldn't even launch it anymore.
I even think Vanguard was better in the beginning, was a hell of a lot better than WoW.
We have seen the plunge of subs of WoW in Sept. 60% of WoW subs will drop out of pure boredom of constant grind raids.
Nice try but neither WoW or WAR has real PVP - they have kids pvp only.
Try a game with consequences when you PVP before you trash the by far better PVE game of the two.
WAR is a 30-45 minutes joy of quick painless PVP with no skills involved or long term goals to reach - it's a quick fix.
For real PVP you need to be able to PVP where you can destroy what the other person has spend time getting/building. This gives a reason to PVP for both sides - I think both WoW and WAR should have a huge xp loss of your entire level when you die in PVP, that would mean you had to think about what you did before running in and dying. Also if you are bad at it and keep dying, you should go down in levels until you learn how to play your character.
Also nothing should be 'soulbound' to the character - when you kill someone you should be able to loot anything they have on them.
Nope, not the game for me. Too much population imbalance between tiers and between realms. Also i found the characters rather dull and boring to play. Too much dmg overtime and healing overtime and not enough direct.
Waaahhhhh.. I suck at the game and can't focus fire... Wahhhhhhh
So because he has a different opinion than you he sucks at the game?
Nope, thought the game was pretty lame. It got really boring and repetative. Kinda sucks that different servers can determine whether you have fun in the game or not. The replay value seems pretty null to me. I'll move on wait for better ones.

So a griefer should be able to downlevel you unless you log off?
I'll agree to WoW and WAR having mild pvp, but by the gods, lose a huge amount of xp when dying?
Well, somebody has to die in pvp, that's kinda the point of it, and if the side that wins, wins by zerging or some tactic hard to get around by planning alone, would you join the fray again knowing that unless you get some pretty darn good reinforcements you will keep losing?
So you want a game that punishes people for trying but not cutting it, or punishes people because some twit is out to make you stop playing, fine go play that, but don't expect subscriber numbers to soar.
Probably not unfortunately., But hoping i will be back in a few months
I say unfortunately because i really like the meat of the game and i've had a hell of a lot of fun at times with it, but....
I keep hearing people in response to complaints about bugs, population imbalance, underpopulated servers, saying "yeah but none of these are game breaking issues"
Well i disagree. Taken as a whole they do become game breaking. Little things that were bugging me just kept mounting up until i just found myself not really wanting to log in anymore.
Too many servers. It seems like 50% of the population is trying to play on 10% of the total servers.
This lead to queues.... so they cloned servers. Quite a novel idea and i see all the good points about it, however, It means those extra players won't be coming to the less populated servers.
My server is med/med-high around primetime and is quite enjoyable at these times. Outside those times it's a ghostland. There is no rvr and scenarios pop once in a blue moon.
Ok so outside primetime i'll get some pve in. Well that was ok up to around lvl 15 when i seemed to start running out of quests in an area before i was ready to move to the next.
My SM is lvl 17 now and is pve'ing in areas with mobs around 20-22.
So i rolled an alt, and then another, and so on.... I now have 5 alts varying from lvl 8 to 15. Games only been out 2 weeks ffs and i have 5 alts already!
The graphical bugs, animation, mobs and players beating the piss outta me while i get "that target is out of range" message. Constantly losing my target, trying to do the salvaging/talisman crafting on 3 different toons and getting nothing but a frikkin headache out of it. Scared to minimize the game cos its gonna run like my auntie with a hernia after i bring it back up. No Defense channel or something similar so people can actually know when the good shit is going down.
I could go on but i won't cos it will just get accused of being a flamepost which it sincerely isn't meant to be.
I like Warhammer. I played a little bit of the beta and have to say it seemed to actually play better then than it does now.
I'm sure they will fix all this stuff. Population issues is gonna be a bit tougher imo, but i think once a lot of these things are working it will be an awsome game. But as it stands now i'm just not gonna pay 10 quid a month for something i might actually have fun with for a couple hours on the odd night during the week, if i'm lucky enough to stumble across some open rvr.
My friends and I are definitly resubbing...we're on the busiest server (Badlands). The Queuing sucks but its worth it knowing when we go to certain areas there'll be people. (the queue went up drastically which sucks stop rolling on full servers and roll on the med high servers on down people!!)
I have a decently spec comp and have no stuttering issues, lag is minimal at best I just turn the settings down during sieges...sucks some people are having those issues specially with high end machines but then I know people with seriously high end machines and they have none.
Either way I'm not experiencing anything thats breaking the game for me and I'm having a really good time....my only issue is the drop ratio difference between the Realms...right now everyone is playing their toons mostly in the empire vs choas areas because thats where the drops are.
The game is not made for everyone to enjoy I expected that from the beginning. I'd say good riddence to bad rubbish but thats not really the case with some of the peeps who arent' coming back. Either way both sides need to stop telling each other what to do...either like it and stay or dislike it and leave. No point in telling everyoe their Experience is wrong. If they're not having the same problems then they're not having the same problems and telling them different won't make them suddenly 'quit' the game.
All MMOs have rocky starts. Remember when WoW came online? It was pretty bad. Having said that, I'll probably wait a few months for to see how things get ironed out.
This thread should have had a poll. It's a yes or no answer, everything else is pointless opinion that we have gone over and over again in these forums. Time to move past the trolls' agenda of whether or not this game sucks and start making meaningful threads about the game and community. If that's even possible around here.
