OP I have a question...why are you so antagonistic? Honestly, I agree with you that whats going on is ridiculous, but there is no need to attack every single person who posts here. A lot of these people bring up good points. Why was no one actually defending Altdorf? When asked your only answer was that owning the keeps and BO's in the zone should be enough, but if someone is attacking the CITY why were you guys not in the CITY defending? That's a pretty good way to help stop them from getting epics....
That was only one poster who asked that question. That poster was being silly and purposely diverting the issue. Or they were being argumentative for its own sake since what they were saying made no sense when put into context.
The city defense is not the issue. It should never have even have happened. The borked campaign is the issue. I never said anything about the actual city defense. Did I say Altdorf was taken? Did I say anything about how many people defended the fortress?
No I purposely left all that out bbecause its immaterial to the issue. The issue is zone control and that the entire march up to the city was completely borked.
Destruction should never have even been able to attack the fortress. That is the entire design of the game. It does not matter if 1 Order or 1000 Order showed up to defend the city, Destruction should never have been able to capture points in Reikwald to be able to open the Fortress for attack

I agree that this issue shouldn't be able to occur what so ever. Read the thread linked above and you'll see a potential cause. Apparently suiciding and ressurecting is the culprit.

Again, the interesting design of Warhammer is RvR... but the majority of people are not doing it.. they are queueing for scenarios. Twice now while an enemy city was being sacked, the 'defenders' did not even show up.. they just kept queueing for scenarios. I'm sorry, but the scenarios/BGs in WOW are just as 'fun' as in Warhammer. i'm not going to play a second game for something I can do in the first one.

2. End games was tested by Elder testers. Sure some of these testers are friends and family put 90% of them are regular gamers who were picked based on past play experience, system specs, and luck. The end game content was tested and is present.
3. Scenario's reward less EXP and Less Renown then open field RvR. Most players are skitterish in the T1 - T2 RvR lakes but are opening up more to T3 and T4. To lock down a zone you need Scenario wins, PQ Completitions, and Open Field victories. You can not control a zone without all 3 items factoring into the equation. What happened had to do with a exploit. Its being looked at.

From what i'am hear it was 2 people who managed to stop 50+ people from even getting close to capping a zone, a friend of mine who was in beta told me that they already knew there was a issue with order capping zones yet they still haven't fixed it.

End Game RvR is not broken.
1. No way.. population imbalances are becoming more extreme. The bonus implemented last week has not had any noticable effect. You don't see people suddenly talking about rerolling, and the polls on other forums showed like 90% of people weren't going to reroll because of it. it is helping Order level faster, but it isn't bringing more people to their realm or is it making those already in the game participate in RvR any more often.. now they are just leveling faster in scenarios
2. Again.. Elders under an NDA does not equal open beta. Ironically, Lake Wintergrasp in WOW had a same issue with what happened in the first city raid in Warhammer.. there was a way to exploit the terrain and use a backdoor to bypass a lot of defenses. The difference was that in WOW, it was discovered and 'exploited' in beta and people screamed about it 2 months before launch and it was fixed long before going live. Elders are more likely to play the game the way it is meant to be played (not go out of their way to find exploits), and because they were under an NDA they couldn't go to the public and use a bully pulpit to get things fixed.
3. Yes, if you get into a good RvR fight you get more exp and renown.. but factor in how many times you run to the lake and don't find anything going on.. it's much more efficient to just queue for scenarios. And again.. I play the game.. you can say it isn't true, but most people know that Order is not actively doing RvR.. even when it's in their own city.
So you know the equation on how to lock a zone? You are sure you have to do PQ's? or do PQ's just help? Same with scenarios? do you have to win them? or do they just help a little? All we know is something is seriously borked because there are instances where Order seems to have a zone completely under control, and can't lock it.. and yet destro looks like they barely have made any progress and suddenly it locks for them.
Just a few things I want to post and your all welcome to reply.
1) Im not 40 yet or in T4 so I have no knowledge (neither do any of you) as what contributes towards realm control, except for what ive seen in Podcasts, which is PQ,Quests,Scenarios,open rvr.
2) You have all taken the time to post on here the problem of zone controll and having Order being sieged which I understand and agree that if there is a problem we should fix it. However, for all this posting on this forum have any of you actually posted this in game as an issue, if you have please link me a picture of you doing so. Its not that I dont beleive you or anything...but I find it odd that Mythic would avoid your suggestions entirely seeing as they are patching diligently what players are "reporting" as bugs or problems.
3) All I can say, is that if this is an issue that they "are" aware of...with time it will be fixed as there is something called a "process of checks and balances" that need to be done before anything can be live. Mythic might already be working on a HOTFIX for this...unfortunately we just dont know do we?
4) Since we cannot do anything right now against this BUG that you guys are all mentioning..all I can say is that you have two options. 1) You can quit the game (which I hope you guys give Mythic a chance to fix this, because the more people are in game the better the RVR exepriance is), or 2) you guys can just agree that there is a problem..report it through ingame reporting, or try calling customer support. After this is done go to the CITY and protect it from its invaders untill its fixed.

If your loosing your capital, its because you didn't defend it well enough, and you deserved to be penalized for not standing up for your realm. It seems like everyone has forgotten the spirit of Realm vs realm.. edit: also if i recall, lower level players can prevent the enemy from gaining access to the capital at all to my understanding, if the players would actually fight for their tiers, but they don't so far, so yet again, you have only your realm to blame.

1. Population is increasing on the servers with the bonus. You cannot use a forum poll to determine its effects. Look at the server select. Where you had low/highs after the first week of the bonus several have moved to med/high and even one to high/high. Its working, just not as quickly as some players would like.
2. We can't assume that some of these bugs were not discovered in Elder testing. Within the first 24 hours several major exploits were brought to light. I even witness a pair of players within 24 hours get to level 30. Both players were exploiting a PQ tier 4 PQ to grind levels from 10 all the way to 30. They were caught and restored to level 1 for their efforts. They were both Elder testers and never reported the exploit. This is what is happening with the Campaign right now. I can tell you from what I seen in Beta that plenty of non standard styles of play were discovered and nipped in the bud. In this case you have people who want 15 minutes of fame and failed to do the job they agreed to.
3. It really depends. If you wander around solo you generally don't find any action going on. But if you grab a group and start capping objectives players start to show up. This happens on both sides of the coin. If your Realm controls all the Areas in the current zone move on to the next or another pairing. The fight will find you. I haven't had trouble stirring up a hornets nest on the 2 servers I play on.
Yes there is a formula on how to lock a zone. Barring the exploits which have been used and are being addressed, it takes a decent amount of effort. A realm earns VPs based on 4 actions. Open Field RvR, Scenario's, PQs, and Normal Quest Completition. To lock a zone a Realm has to dominate in 3 of the 4 items. Again the exploit allowed them to earn more VP in Open Field, which is why they capped the zone without needing to caputre the objectives. Open field is the biggest factor in capturing a zone but you can't do it without the other factors contributing a little bit.

I'm not sure what all the drama is about. People act as if problems either won't be fixed or won't be fixed for months/years. I can't think of a MMORPG to date that hasn't had issues of one sort or another shortly after release.
What gets me is the whole conspiracy attitude as if developers deliberately create or foster class imbalance or deliberately ignore bugs and design flaws.
Mythic will balance the classes as needed. They'll address and fix the bugs and flaws. The serious stuff they'll fix sooner rather than later. Not so serious stuff they'll fix when they get to it. Just like it happens with other developers and other games. They are making changes and improvements to the game now and there is no reason to expect that will change.
I don't mean to ruin the topic, but wasn't the problem a couple of Destruction warbands who were exploiting a way to get VP very quickly by killing and rezzing themselves repeatedly? I'm pretty sure they have already fixed this. If so it has nothing to do with overpopulation.
I believe something along these lines was listed in the patch notes for today.
It has been confirmed by screenshots that the problem is still occuring. The only thing the patch says is they made thgings "slower" not that they stopped VP from magicly going to destruciton side.
There is no peep out of Mythic about this and if it was soley that Rez bug wouldn't you expect to see more crying from Destruction.
I canceled my account. Screw this if Mythic can't or won't do anything to keep things fair. They should of locked these zones weeks ago.
Just a few things I want to post and your all welcome to reply.
1) Im not 40 yet or in T4 so I have no knowledge (neither do any of you) as what contributes towards realm control, except for what ive seen in Podcasts, which is PQ,Quests,Scenarios,open rvr. 2) You have all taken the time to post on here the problem of zone controll and having Order being sieged which I understand and agree that if there is a problem we should fix it. However, for all this posting on this forum have any of you actually posted this in game as an issue, if you have please link me a picture of you doing so. Its not that I dont beleive you or anything...but I find it odd that Mythic would avoid your suggestions entirely seeing as they are patching diligently what players are "reporting" as bugs or problems. 3) All I can say, is that if this is an issue that they "are" aware of...with time it will be fixed as there is something called a "process of checks and balances" that need to be done before anything can be live. Mythic might already be working on a HOTFIX for this...unfortunately we just dont know do we? 4) Since we cannot do anything right now against this BUG that you guys are all mentioning..all I can say is that you have two options. 1) You can quit the game (which I hope you guys give Mythic a chance to fix this, because the more people are in game the better the RVR exepriance is), or 2) you guys can just agree that there is a problem..report it through ingame reporting, or try calling customer support. After this is done go to the CITY and protect it from its invaders untill its fixed. *please note* take my post with a grain of salt. I gave mythic weeks to acknowledg this crap. They haven't i cancelled. Its been obviously broekn since Beta. We have account from Beta player who reported this. The thread on warhammer allaince is like a week old.

I'm not sure what all the drama is about. People act as if problems either won't be fixed or won't be fixed for months/years. I can't think of a MMORPG to date that hasn't had issues of one sort or another shortly after release. What gets me is the whole conspiracy attitude as if developers deliberately create or foster class imbalance or deliberately ignore bugs and design flaws. Mythic will balance the classes as needed. They'll address and fix the bugs and flaws. The serious stuff they'll fix sooner rather than later. Not so serious stuff they'll fix when they get to it. Just like it happens with other developers and other games. They are making changes and improvements to the game now and there is no reason to expect that will change.
Sure an they will bann all the exploiters. Never seen them do it. I have personally reported peopel for terrain exploits. Nothing happened.
And they will take back all the high end gear the destruction players have been farming for weeks that Orfder cannot farm. I call BS on that.

I don't think the problem lies in the game, but in the players. Why aren't order players defending Altdrof? I realize their aren't that many people at 40, but im sure their are plenty enough to put up a good defense, especially against an attack on the capital. If your loosing your capital, its because you didn't defend it well enough, and you deserved to be penalized for not standing up for your realm. It seems like everyone has forgotten the spirit of Realm vs realm.. edit: also if i recall, lower level players can prevent the enemy from gaining access to the capital at all to my understanding, if the players would actually fight for their tiers, but they don't so far, so yet again, you have only your realm to blame.

Explain to me how Destruction got access to the fortresses without taking objectives?
Because to my understanding thats how it works, they build up the most victory points, they own the tier, very simple to do if order doesn't fight back, so yes I am going to blame order on that.
Explain how they got "free" access to the capital? Unless you consider free by order, once again, not fighting back for control.
Now explain to me how Destruction locked down this zone.
Victory points, they must have killed alot of players..alot..but that most likely isn't the case.
Possibly a bug? I doubt thats been the case in every single capital raid thus far, it would be nice to know exactly how that happened.

I agree anything past 2:1 is a death sentence for real RvR. Not saying Order couldn't ninja a keep, they can. But real RvR with ongoing skirmishes and fights won't happen.
Order will Ninja a keep and fade away to run scenarios. Probably won't even defend them that often only when some people get together and do it for fun.
RvR is already on the precipice asfar as I can see. This will quite possibly push it over the edge.
We will see what MJ's state of the game says, but unless its something amazing and a decen mea culpa I won't change my cancellation. Even server transfers or mergers won't be enough

That was only one poster who asked that question. That poster was being silly and purposely diverting the issue. Or they were being argumentative for its own sake since what they were saying made no sense when put into context.
The city defense is not the issue. It should never have even have happened. The borked campaign is the issue. I never said anything about the actual city defense. Did I say Altdorf was taken? Did I say anything about how many people defended the fortress?
No I purposely left all that out bbecause its immaterial to the issue. The issue is zone control and that the entire march up to the city was completely borked.
Destruction should never have even been able to attack the fortress. That is the entire design of the game. It does not matter if 1 Order or 1000 Order showed up to defend the city, Destruction should never have been able to capture points in Reikwald to be able to open the Fortress for attack

I agree that this issue shouldn't be able to occur what so ever. Read the thread linked above and you'll see a potential cause. Apparently suiciding and ressurecting is the culprit.
Yes I am aware of that, I posted in that thread and have known about that bug for a couple weeks.
I am skeptical that is the whole of the problem, although it could be. I was also giving Mythic more credit and assume they had fixed it weeks ago.
I found out about it easily just by browsing forums.
The problem is that Mythic did not allow an open public test of this content. The content is borked and making the biggest aspect of endgame a joke.
City seiging is 'the' most basic part of endgame in Warhammer... and it was never tested openly.

I don't have a lvl 40, or anything even close. I have a real life, and real world responsibilities that keep me from playing more than a few hours a week so really I couldn't care less what the end game looks like right now. Thats not to say that because I don't care they shouldn't fix it or it shouldn't work, but as it stands I just don't really care enough about it.

I'm an extreme fan of WOW PVE game. I also think Lake Wintergrasp will be intersting for PvP. But I bought Warhammer with the hopes that it would be my pvp game.
But lets state the facts
1. RvR does not exist on most servers because of population imbalances. Destro owns the lakes, and Order queues for scenarios. I played on 3 different servers, the first two servers I tried destro... but running through the RvR area I saw no enemy players. I then rolled order and we would just get crushed because we were vastly outnumbered. People stopped trying, they just queued for scenarios where they could at least advance their character.
2. Endgame was not tested openly. The only people who played it were 'friends' of the developers. These are not the type of people who try to really break things... which is why as soon as the game went live all this stuff is getting abused and these major bugs are keeping endgame from working properly.
3. The whole, well documented problem with scenarios rewarding players too much. Again, the interesting design of Warhammer is RvR... but the majority of people are not doing it.. they are queueing for scenarios. Twice now while an enemy city was being sacked, the 'defenders' did not even show up.. they just kept queueing for scenarios. I'm sorry, but the scenarios/BGs in WOW are just as 'fun' as in Warhammer. i'm not going to play a second game for something I can do in the first one.
Trust me, if RvR at endgame wasn't so borked, and if RvR rewarded players who did it more than scenarios... I'd be a big fan of this game too.
In my mind, I was supposed to be in a big RvR battle killing enemy players and helping my realm win. That just doesn't happen on most servers. The only RvR is destro steamrolling into cities using broken mechanisms and exploits and the defenders not even showing up.

To lock down a zone you need Scenario wins, PQ Completitions, and Open Field victories. You can not control a zone without all 3 items factoring into the equation. What happened had to do with a exploit. Its being looked at.

So far that's just an assumption based on the fac tthat it *is* possible. There's no proof that's what happened.
From what i'am hear it was 2 people who managed to stop 50+ people from even getting close to capping a zone, a friend of mine who was in beta told me that they already knew there was a issue with order capping zones yet they still haven't fixed it.

1. No way.. population imbalances are becoming more extreme. The bonus implemented last week has not had any noticable effect. You don't see people suddenly talking about rerolling, and the polls on other forums showed like 90% of people weren't going to reroll because of it. it is helping Order level faster, but it isn't bringing more people to their realm or is it making those already in the game participate in RvR any more often.. now they are just leveling faster in scenarios
2. Again.. Elders under an NDA does not equal open beta. Ironically, Lake Wintergrasp in WOW had a same issue with what happened in the first city raid in Warhammer.. there was a way to exploit the terrain and use a backdoor to bypass a lot of defenses. The difference was that in WOW, it was discovered and 'exploited' in beta and people screamed about it 2 months before launch and it was fixed long before going live. Elders are more likely to play the game the way it is meant to be played (not go out of their way to find exploits), and because they were under an NDA they couldn't go to the public and use a bully pulpit to get things fixed.
3. Yes, if you get into a good RvR fight you get more exp and renown.. but factor in how many times you run to the lake and don't find anything going on.. it's much more efficient to just queue for scenarios. And again.. I play the game.. you can say it isn't true, but most people know that Order is not actively doing RvR.. even when it's in their own city.
So you know the equation on how to lock a zone? You are sure you have to do PQ's? or do PQ's just help? Same with scenarios? do you have to win them? or do they just help a little? 1. Population is increasing on the servers with the bonus. You cannot use a forum poll to determine its effects. Look at the server select. Where you had low/highs after the first week of the bonus several have moved to med/high and even one to high/high. Its working, just not as quickly as some players would like.
2. We can't assume that some of these bugs were not discovered in Elder testing. Within the first 24 hours several major exploits were brought to light. I even witness a pair of players within 24 hours get to level 30. Both players were exploiting a PQ tier 4 PQ to grind levels from 10 all the way to 30. They were caught and restored to level 1 for their efforts. They were both Elder testers and never reported the exploit. This is what is happening with the Campaign right now. I can tell you from what I seen in Beta that plenty of non standard styles of play were discovered and nipped in the bud. 3. It really depends. If you wander around solo you generally don't find any action going on. But if you grab a group and start capping objectives players start to show up. This happens on both sides of the coin. If your Realm controls all the Areas in the current zone move on to the next or another pairing. The fight will find you. I haven't had trouble stirring up a hornets nest on the 2 servers I play on.
Yes there is a formula on how to lock a zone. Barring the exploits which have been used and are being addressed, it takes a decent amount of effort. A realm earns VPs based on 4 actions. Open Field RvR, Scenario's, PQs, and Normal Quest Completition. To lock a zone a Realm has to dominate in 3 of the 4 items. Again the exploit allowed them to earn more VP in Open Field, which is why they capped the zone without needing to caputre the objectives. Open field is the biggest factor in capturing a zone but you can't do it without the other factors contributing a little bit.

They gained access to the Fortress by own ZERO out of FOUR keep and ONE out of EIGHT BFO.

Explain to me how Destruction got access to the fortresses without taking objectives?
Because to my understanding thats how it works, they build up the most victory points, they own the tier, very simple to do if order doesn't fight back, so yes I am going to blame order on that.
Explain how they got "free" access to the capital? Unless you consider free by order, once again, not fighting back for control.
Now explain to me how Destruction locked down this zone.

I'm not sure what all the drama is about. People act as if problems either won't be fixed or won't be fixed for months/years. I can't think of a MMORPG to date that hasn't had issues of one sort or another shortly after release.
What gets me is the whole conspiracy attitude as if developers deliberately create or foster class imbalance or deliberately ignore bugs and design flaws.
Mythic will balance the classes as needed. They'll address and fix the bugs and flaws. The serious stuff they'll fix sooner rather than later. Not so serious stuff they'll fix when they get to it. Just like it happens with other developers and other games. They are making changes and improvements to the game now and there is no reason to expect that will change.
I believe something along these lines was listed in the patch notes for today.
It has been confirmed by screenshots that the problem is still occuring. The only thing the patch says is they made thgings "slower" not that they stopped VP from magicly going to destruciton side.
There is no peep out of Mythic about this and if it was soley that Rez bug wouldn't you expect to see more crying from Destruction.
I canceled my account. Screw this if Mythic can't or won't do anything to keep things fair. They should of locked these zones weeks ago.

I gave mythic weeks to acknowledg this crap. They haven't i cancelled. Its been obviously broekn since Beta. We have account from Beta player who reported this. The thread on warhammer allaince is like a week old.

Sure an they will bann all the exploiters. Never seen them do it. I have personally reported peopel for terrain exploits. Nothing happened.
And they will take back all the high end gear the destruction players have been farming for weeks that Orfder cannot farm. I call BS on that.
And they will somehow magically fix people abandoning Order in droves. When Order goes from 2:1 outnumbers to 4:1 outnumbered there has been almost irreparable damage done to a two faction RvR game.

Victory points, they must have killed alot of players..alot..but that most likely isn't the case.
Possibly a bug? I doubt thats been the case in every single capital raid thus far, it would be nice to know exactly how that happened.

That can explain how they got 1 tier locked down, but what about the others? They still have to fight through several other tiers, fortresses, and then lastely the capital, not an easy task assuming their are players that are defending. Yet they still lost apparently, the blame still goes to the players for not putting up a good defense during this raid.

Since I've seen from Beta Testing that 2-1 odds are enough to overrun the smaller side, the damage is already extensive. 60/40 is the Line of Death for the underdogs.
The Boss is releasing a Grand Speech on Friday - he needs to address this problem head on or watch the stampede out of the game.

I agree anything past 2:1 is a death sentence for real RvR. Not saying Order couldn't ninja a keep, they can. But real RvR with ongoing skirmishes and fights won't happen.
Order will Ninja a keep and fade away to run scenarios. Probably won't even defend them that often only when some people get together and do it for fun.
RvR is already on the precipice asfar as I can see. This will quite possibly push it over the edge.
We will see what MJ's state of the game says, but unless its something amazing and a decen mea culpa I won't change my cancellation. Even server transfers or mergers won't be enough
