Brilliant game, but too dreary, and with no variety to the atmosphere the darkness of it all just ceased to have any effect on me. Warhammer feels like taking too much Nyquil and then raiding Duskwood for the rest of your life.
That might not matter so much, but with the entire world a miserable ruin, Order has nothing worth protecting and Destruction has no reason to cause havoc. I could not identify with my own faction or view the enemy faction as adversaries. It's a shame that, of all the games these days that pit two or more sides against one another, the game that placed the most importance on that feature failed to draw any meaningful distinction between them.
I know I'm virtually alone in this sentiment, and I'm glad about that because Mythic deserve to win big for what they've done.

I cancelled mainly because i became extremely bored in T3.

I was going to cancel, but decided to resub at the last minute. Basically, I took a look around at all the games out, and coming out, and decided that WAR was actually my best choice for mmorpg entertainment over the next couple months. Not because it is "all that," but because I have already played the hell out of the other games available and WAR is still a pretty solid game to me. WAR has excellent casual play from 1 to 20 IMO, so I figured that could entertain me for quite a while. At least until TCoS or DF come out.
Also, in all honesty, the only way to go through T3 and T4 is get a guild group built for AOE'ing PQ's. Just my opinion though.

I initially cancelled with 5 days left because a few of my friends cancelled to go back to WoW. Then I remembered I hated the battleground grind in WoW and quickly resubbed to WAR :P. Good thing too, this game is amazing.
I resubbed. I don't play a whole lot, but I'm a decent guild with a bunch of good people and we get together to do some fun stuff at times. Last night we took 2 destruction keeps one tier 2 and one tier 3. Also it's fun just to log on for an hour or so and do a few scenarios. Even with what little I play the leveling seems fine to me.
I resubbed 2 accounts yesterday, but I really haven't played it much. My son however has a level 15 Destro character and has said he's really starting to enjoy the game. I restarted on his server as a Shaman (was an Elf on the order side before) and while only level 5 I find the zone and story line more interesting so perhaps I'll be able to level it up a bit and see some of the later game content.

I have the same sentiment. I liked the game in the beginning, but the fun factor slowly died on me. People from my guild were busy doing scenarios, players outside the guild were busy doing scenarios, players in my area not available because they were in scenarios. Then went to a RvR server, same. Tried both factions, same. Seems everybody is rushing to reach level 40 since scenarios are feeding them with a lot of XP. Another rat race. Finally went to a Roleplay server, nobody role play, but thats not surprise.
This is a good game but after a couple weeks I am just bored to death playing this game. I hate to say this but this game reallly seems like WoW 2. I wish Mythic would work on DAoC 2 now. I renewed my EQ2 subscription.
Re subbed and will for awhile, because i ebjoy the game. I probably wouldn t if there was no talk about changes to encourage ORVR, but there is. I personally think there will be alot of huge changes to it, and make it literally a must , so the game will finally be played like it was meant to. I ve always hated the idea of scenarios, and still do, but i have np getting a keep take going or some good old ORVR going. I ve submitted many feedbacks regarding DAOCs Battle Group chat option. Many times in DAOC on my lvl 10 i would find the BG leader join it ask whats up and join them if needed or was something going on. The chat improvments help but a little more RVR centric stuff is needed to make it the game it was meant to be. It will happen just give it time.
I still back in the saddle with WAR and probably going to keep rolling with the game till something can top it, which I dont see anything, anytime soon (maybe Stargate Worlds since I am a SG Fan).
As one user posted, I at least got to see my character make it to 40, so it doesnt look like I will be quitting and I am still having a blast with the game and my guildmates.
Despite everything in general, I am not a hardcore player where I can invest 30+ hours a week in a mmorpg anymore, so I am not even close to burnout, yet... I average about 15 hours of gameplay per 7 days.
Well I resubbed as well. Whether or not I resub again depends on if Mythic fixes the glaring bugs I am having that have wore me down this past month. It's interesting to see the results on this poll. I'm not saying that mmorpg.com is a good sample of players that represent the whole, but if we are, this shows that the game is losing around half its players after the first month, giving it aroudn 350k subs. That's pretty good for an MMORPG and doesn't take into account the people that will buy the game and like it this month.
MMORPG's w/ Max level characters: DAoC, SWG, & WoW
Currently Playing: WAR Preferred Playstyle: Roleplay/adventurous, in a sandbox game.
Having a single scenario queue and randomly (or even sequentially) choosing a scenario would go a long, long way toward helping the staleness that is never-ending Tor Anroc.
Cancelling, but only because the genre is sucking my life away. I love the game, but I told my wife I would quit for her.
Plan B; get her to play. My missus and I have been playing together for years now; so much better than when I used to slope off to play some computer game or other.
The other day she say that when we retire (not that long away) she could see us spending all our time killing online
Haven’t thought about it really, people who quit after a few months of a mmo's release seem to have MMO ADD. The amount of the same kind of "x doesn’t work exactly as i want it to right now so I’m quitting" posts on all forums seems to have skyrocketed, maybe people need to have a little less sugar in their diets .
I’ve been playing since release and play a few times a week, having a blast, as are the vast majority of my friends, but we all came to WAR expecting the game to be in a state of just being released...that includes having the good things about discovering a world without having a web page open with all the info you require to get to 70 on it. and on the flip side it means the game is a lot less polished it will be in a few more months.
I don’t see anything fundamentally broken with the game and from the patches they have produced it appears they do listen to feed back, that’s something I've rarely seen in the years of mmo playing!
So if you have burnt out or decided that X game that’s going to be released will be the best thing since sliced bread, well good luck and happy game leaping, one day you might find your utopian vision.
I’ll stick with the game, heck i stuck with eq2 for 4 years and it was in a shocking state most of its life
I am still having some free time left but I am thinking of resub, there's nothing better at the market right now me thinks. Also new stuff coming in december makes me wanna stay a little while longer. I for one like T3 Except Tor Anroc that sucks. Although there are some shortage of players now and that's not very fun I hope it will pick up soon.
I quit, but I think I just got bored after being in beta for a while, then starting all over. I'm actually playing lotro and having a lot of fun. I would have gone back to daoc for the RvR, but the population is just so low. Maybe if origins ever comes out. The RvR in daoc is so much better than War. War seems a bit more shallow/ empty to me and does not feel like a WAR.
Comments
I happily resubbed.
These polls are usually meaningless. You're gonna have every troll from other games coming on and voting that they didn't resub.

I really enjoyed the first week of playing War, the second week was ok, but the 3rd week I quit playing.
Maybe I burned out myself already (played 8 hrs a day for the first 2 weeks).

I resubbed. I forsee playing the game for at least another 6 months, hopefully longer. It is the best MMO out atm.
As long as they keep fixing things and I am having fun I will keep paying and playing.
