The design of WAR (like including scenarios) means its a poor imitation of the glory day of DAOC, and harkens to be more of a WOW-like experience.
I'm betting lots of folks love the game as it is, but it appears others like myself don't. That's OK too, we're probably in the minority, since WAR has far more subs than I think DAOC ever did in its heyday.
Guess I'll have to hope they decide to release that "origins" server because I'd surely go back for one more round and see if it retains its appeal.

you have got to be pooping me, really ? what server dude . and is it constant like it use to be ?
So almost 2 months in and we are comparing a game that is just building up as the successor to DAoC?
Most of the action is in tier 2 and 3. As in DAoC, I played on Palomides primarily and a few other servers, This game is going to take a little bit longer to catch on.
If you are disappointed that this game is not DAoC, I'm glad you are unhappy. DAoC was a revolutionary title, but all revolutions must end and see the fruit of its death blossom.
Otherwise you just get a bunch of crabby gamers engrained in their ways looking for the sun to rise while riding hard west.
ah.. there are so manny mmo's right now, and it seems a lot of people miss te old mmo days (i also mis the wow pre-tbc times ) but i'll tell you what, an mmo is a complexe game and, even after launch it needs some time to become good, yes indeed we have seen some REALLY bad launches last few years, but also some good, and WAR isn't out that long yet so I suggest everybody to just wait a while it will become better
------------------------------------------------------------------- waiting for ... nothing..
Just last night I was in Tier 3 and there was a tower under attack. When I go there there were like 6 players. I flee to the Keep and started to call for help. I was thinking that maybe Order was planning to take the Keep so I asked on the chat to form a warband and take back OUR TOWER. Two people answered me saying "take it yourself" and another said to go beat Order in scenarios.
So whatever, I am almost in Tier 4 now and havent experienced open RVR at all, except for the Witching event which was a total failure since Order players were nowhere to be seen, only 8 Order players against 25 Destruction players. Seems nobody else from Order was interested in that and we were like idiots waiting for something to happen.
Once I reach Tier 4 I will see if there is something going on, but I doubt it. Just have a couple of days before my account is inactive. At least I will get to see Tier 4 even if it's a ghost town.
So besides 1 other person nobody noticed that the 2 pics posted was basically a order zerg attacking a keep, where there was little to no destro, as laughed about by the chat logs?
Do i need to post pictures like slide show for your satisfaction? after 10 mins we were rolled over by Destro and then we came back again and it went on like this for quite a while.
And didn't you use to be such a rabid fanboy of WAR? what happened? Man you guys have 0 credibility when it comes to MMO. You change color faster than bloody chameleons.
I quit because the world was empty and the pvp was a scenario snoozefest.
open rvr was scheduled for keeps. pqs were undoable.
The actual game was sorta fun, but it felt like playing a single player rpg, so i quit.
I must admit that I haven't seem massive of action in T1 & T2 rvr land, but I have seen a bit and had a few nice fights. I think the game is still to young for it to have settled down and players have yet to find the joy of defending a castle against a group (nicely balance I found that two of us were able to screw up a group that were trying to take a keep).
To me this has been pretty much similar to DAoC BG. However I have noticed that is has been worth taking RvR objectives, so I expect that "presence" in these zones will increase. Already I'm seeing zone chat with suggestions to grouping up and taking the RvR objectives as it was "easy XP and Reknown".
Obviously the big problem here is gratification. Run around a RvR zone looking for a fight for 15 mins, or log onto a frantic Senario (popping typically every five mins). I suspect that once the "rewards" from RvR land make it worth it, then people will be playing more (particularly as they see the benefit).
However, it is horses for courses, my missus never like the big RvR fights, too much hanging about; and for her WAR is much improved over DAoC (and she loved that game) because she can log on and kill people without the drag of finding them.
Sicc1, 1. Played the the game(horrible)! 2. Next time copy a shitty game and make it it goood! 3. why the fu*& are you talking to me and boasting a game you loveX2 and are here?

lol, good one.
When I said i had "time", i meant virtual time, i got no RL "time" for you.
well to be honest i was very disapointed with warhammer i played daoc from beta and if you have played that game youde know what ime about to say .
compared to camelot war dosent come close to evan being as good as it was for rvr they made that game with heart and sole and it was very impressive 3 realms all trying to be the most dominant and when they made it known they were working on warhammer ppl were thinking its going to be evan better how wrong to think that instead of a good pvp/rvr game its a first person beatemup a joke of a game compared to the game that set standards like daoc .
if mythic had put thought into war more it could had been best out there instead its a fast hack em up game with no community aspects or roleplaying aspects how can it call itself a rpg evan the charictot generator was lame compared to daocs i mean they could had done that right at leaste i mean ime a girl and we like to make our charcs look good at leaste bit on there was hardly any difrence between looks .
all in all mythic should chalk this one up as a toa mistake and start again ime sure daoc ppl would agree if mythic want to do something to cheer its faithfull following up a bit hurry up with ORIGINS server maybe they will keep a few ppl then .
thats all i have to say sorry if i ranted a bit just geting my inside thoughts to all <hugs>
