But, what happens when I respawn?  I mean.. we'll all be new players to start, and I won't have an extra sword or reagents or an axe or a staff in the bank.. so.. am I just.. well dead?  Should I delete and restart?do I get more stuff to start?

I would say MOST people would do like they did in Ultima Online. Create a mule/crafter first and that is the backbone of your account in the beginning. Making money to supply other characters that cannot fund themselves in the beginning(IE Tank Mages or pure mages etc etc etc). Many dungeons in UO were mostly empty in the very beginning or were full of newbs that were dead.

Then create your main character and you have funding.

That is what I will do.

This is a pretty good idea thanks, I hadnt thought of this approach.

I'm not a big fan of having more than one account if the relationship between the two accounts is purely financial.  In AC.. it made sense.. you could create and xp chain or something along those lines.. but in Darkfall you can't.  So.. I'm not going to spend 2X a month to be able to "play" a game.

Um what? I said create a crafter to fund your fighter... I assume there is more than 1 character slot per account...

    Reading comprehension...

See here.. oh! Look... you tried to be "Clever" with this Reading comprehension mark!! Oh.. Look! so cute!!

    You are one sly dog!!

    Everyone look! He's clever!!

    Damn you owned me!

I can't believe 1 character per account. What is the skill cap? If it is not really high I don't see anyone trying crafting. No one wants to play a blacksmith 100% with no option to go fighting :)

You obviously never played SWG.  Back in the good ol days...

    1. Everything drops can be looted on death.

    2. Get ganked anywhere by anyone.

If you wanna get an idea of how that is just go play on Asheron's Call Dark Tide server. It's exactly like that.  And it's brutal man.

Bzzt wrongo.  It is not even close to Darktide.  Been there done that.  Darktide is and always will be the wrong way to implement pvp.  Pvp without consequence is a recipe for a dead game.  Darkfall is supposed to have factions, if so, woe be to the player that kills his own faction.

Some people will be dedicated crafters, about 5% according to the last poll on the offical forum.  I will probably do this after I've done a bit of initial exploring.  Even in WoW some people just craft and do nothing else when they hit max level and the crafting there is really basic.

Skill cap?  While I don't know what the plan is, what makes you think there will be a skill cap? I've not read anything about that until this thread.

Uhm what? AC Darktide did NOT have full loot. You dropped X number of the most valuable items you were carrying with a random factor to it and it scaled with your level. Also some items were undroppable.

    Number 2 was correct though.

No consequences? In AC DT if you killed someone from your guild, and they did not consent to that, you for sure would get kicked out of your guild and if you killed an ally then thats how guild wars were started. So AC DT definetely had consequences. The difference between what you seems to like and what they did was that the consequences were not dictated, and hardcoded, by the devs.

The players decided the consequences, not the devs. And that is how it should be and I hope Darfall will be like. If not then it will just be another WoW or AoC "PvP" (read fake) server.

I very much disagree with you.  No NPC consquence turned DT into a FFA NO consquence gank fest.  IN the begining, it was newbies getting camped by the level 20 somethings, than it was "who ever had the biggest guild".. Now it's evolved into RPK only, where if you aren't allied with someone, they are KOS.  There is no "anti" as the Anti's are only allied with other antis.  the RPKs are the same..   I want some sort of forced game consquence to the killer to prevent ganking/griefing.

Darkfall will NOT be like AC Darktide. We know that for sure. If you kill someone in your faction, the game will punish you. How hard, we don't know, but you will be punished.

I will have two accounts, and so will my RL friends. One crafter and one pvp char because I tend to die alot. So my enemies will be happy with free quality weapons and armor made by Hotjazz.
