    Dear people of Spellborn International,

In those crisis times, thank you very much for not letting me spend my money in your game.

Four sales lost here (2 Brits and 2 Swedes) if we can't play together.

I cant believe the Dev's arrogance over this matter.

One of them started a post with " I'll try to make this as clear as I can"

    so listen

" I'll try to make this as clear as I can"  carry on with this BS and theres going to be alot of lost customers and its not only me that thinks this way the numbers are growing ... I alone have spoken to about 6 freinds of mine who will not be playing if they carry with this Bullshit.

Dont want to listen to your customers ? Remember AoC ? wake up and smell the coffee.

Well thanks to all that signed but it was all in vain.

The guys from the uk will be on Acclaim servers with the US along with the likes of Spain,Italy and central european countries.

The mindscape/frogster run servers with the 11 other european countries as listed before are now split from the rest of europe.

    R.I.P Spellborn.

Did they throw darts at a board with random dumbass ideas, and this came up as the bullseye. I always wonder, how companies come about decisions like this(its money of course). Like hey guy's how can we f*** over Europe!!!!. I know Bob!! Let's completely alienate one half of Europe with the other half. Great idea Steve!!!!!

But for them to be that blatant stupid about it. Eh whatever....

I actually thought they would at least  try to explain why this is happening and give some sort of an apology  for the drama this has caused....obviously not.

Goodbye Spellborn and thanks for all the fish!

after about 2 years in closed beta i had planned on purchasing this game when it released this week

i feel for the europeans that have been separated by the acclaim deal but my issue was the long delay caused by this deal

so this is a no purchase for me - not a great loss but i would have liked to experience the game when people are actually playing it  - closed beta players couldn't even be bothered to log into the CB forums to discuss the game let alone into the game itself (big clue there)

    Bye Bye spellborn

The funny thing is I can play "Runes of Magic" from Spain and it is a Frogster game (at least now I can play).

So technically there are no problems. It is just an awfull bussines decision.

Just another example of a comany that thinks its bigger than their customers .... arrogant bastards I say ...

Learn the lessons Mmo makers ! AoC should at least teach them that ... tho its does seem they are all a little thick these days .

I have been watching TCoS for a long time along with Darkfall, and Aion. Now I live in Istanbul/ Turkey, this means that I won't  able to play the game since my country isnt even listed by Acclaim, Mindscape and Frogster, and IP banning is just far worse. (otherwise I could order thru internet and buy the either EU server TCoS, or USA)

There is a big MMORPG community here as well. For me there is no option but forget about the game I have been truly supporting from the beginning. Was thinking while I was reading the forms, developments all this time how would i ever make a decision between Aion and TCoS, at least now that is very clear for me!

I agree with the posts and concerns here. The gamers should be able to have the freedom to choose whichever server they want to play!!!

So there are UK servers, but you have to be UK to play on them? This effects no other country? Why are they doing that, there must be a reason?

It shafts guilds, thats for sure.

I believe MMO gamers should be able to choose whomever they want to play with, wherever they may be.  I don't fully understand the business dynamics involved with publishing a game on an international level, but from past experience, it seems that I've been able to play with people from all over the world without issue.  Why must it be any different with TCOS?

Surely this is a joke, right ?

As a citizen of the 51st state I'm wondering what our new President Obama will do for the mighty state of Britain? When will I start getting paid in Dollars rather than Pounds? and does this mean I can now legally own a gun ?

I just can't believe they would be as stupid as to split the European player base like this. The game will be dead in Europe before it's even launched if they do not get this sorted imho.

I know I certainly won't be touching this at all unless I can play with all my fellow Europeans on a server based somewhere in Europe.

I am always surprised at how companies try and pool players like this when the whole point of a MMO is to have a massive 'diverse' community.  I have an issue with games stopping EU playing with Australia and the USA.  Separating UK from EU is just poor.  I see in AoC different players setting up guilds for their region, Polish, Swedish, Russian etc.  It really develops the game in population diversity and RP.  So stopping this will only destroy the population and the fun that goes with playing with gamers from all over.  I will check out the free version of the game but I would never play if they separated UK from the EU.

the reason imho is a publishing deal gone bad

the devs are a small studio in netherlands and it seems they didnt have the will/resources to selfpublish the game (all the more credit to eve from me btw)

they found a publisher in europe in mid developement but that publisher seemed also to small to publish world wide. pretty late they got acclaim to publish their game in the us and it seems that acclaim also got the rights to the uk in that deal and some other areas the original publisher had no contract for.

all in all i think they are very talented devs but totally messed up on the business end of the game and for people working in the mmo industry they should know of the power of guilds and that no big guild would go to a new game where it could only bring half of its members

Well, based on the news of how the publishers are distributed, it seems EU got split to 4 groups, France, german speaking, norhtern EU, the rest. First 3 being handled by 3 diffrent distributors on same server pool and the last one being handled by Acclaim along with rest of the world. It's far from being UK apart from other EU. If you look on all the countries Acclaim is going to handle, you may find out it is quite possibly going to have more EU players than any of the previous groups, so I really hope Acclaim will also have EU based servers.

Subscribtions: EVE, SWTOR WOW, WAR, DDO, VG, AOC, COV, FFXI, GW, RFO, Aion
    +plenty of F2P, betas, trials

Female Dwarf player: WOW, VG, WAR, DDO
    .
Due to the recent economic crisis and spending cuts the light at the end of the tunnel was turned off. Sincerely, God.

When I 1st made this thread it was indeed the UK that was split, since then the UK have had Italy Spain and eastern europe added to there servers(also with NA),though all this has been said in this thread as the info was released.

Its seems the Dev dont care two hoots what the community want .... and the only thing they have said on their official forums is ,like it or lump it. They must be either stupid or arrogant ... or probably both

I feel cheated, won't be able to play with my guild friends overseas on mainland europe

100% signed, they were about as clever as sticking your wet hand into a toaster with this bullshit server segregation.
