When the game releases, Im going to start a thread for people to post their toons name, mine will be on there as well.
I think it will be fun to settle this once and for all in game, hope you fans are in large guilds to back you up.

I've always said I'm looking forward to trying the game when it finally releases. Plus, it's good to see that this silly debate is going to draw to a close in the foreseeable future. But hey...with people like you around, I'm sure my forum amusement is still guaranteed for a while.

if theres some free trial it will probly cut those numbers in half and since its full body looting all tho i like that the wow noobs will never buy the game so it will never truly be that big of a mmo
there alot of wow noobs that want to play it or at least give it a try. but there nto tryign to compete with Ww anyways

How about a game with a community that isn't comfortable using terms like "rape face"?
Looks like the wait may finally be close to over for you guys. I hope for your sakes I'm also wrong with all my doom-and-gloom predictions of non-immersive visuals, vast tracts of boring empty space, frustrating combat due to lag and poor optimization/stress testing, and an unpleasant number of missing 'promised' features.
God knows some of you guys have really paid your dues in terms of time and faith invested in this product, there's no doubting you deserve to get the game you've been wishing for. Let's hope Aventurine is done disappointing its fans.
All the trolls deserve all the squirming they will be doing around here for a while, be careful what you try and pretend you have not said in past, crediability = zero. It was obvious this game was winding up for a release if you followed it at all with any detail but the truth is you didn't really care about that, you are mostly just a bunch of souless deviants attempting to upset and cause anger and hate in the world, I pity you.
Fanbois better just soak in this time of gloating as it won't last all that long, unfortunatley I believe this game will be viewed as a failed game after realease, not because its a bad game but because of who it appeals to, the people who have followed this game with interest will play and most likely enjoy it. Your average MMO'er may not be able to digest that it will not have the look and feel of WOW, these guys are going to flame this game after playing and i feel they will be in the majority and therefor the concensus after release will most likely be of uter failure of a game. But at least the people who are looking forward to this game will most likely be very happy people.

Hehe that may not be necessary for some. I'm sure you'll all be able to spot downtoearth's typing 'style' a million miles away.
It's not out yet. Don't get carried away... again. And even when/if it does come out, see what it's like before gloating.
I personally doubt it will release in January 2009, but if it does I hope some non-fanboys try it so we can hear how bad it really is.

Sadly if there is no OPEN Beta or Free Trial before the Jan. 22nd... I will be taking a pass on it. I'll wait 3-6 months to see what the reviews say about it... then make my choice from there.
Hopefully they'll still try and put together some sort of an OPEN Beta before then.

Obviously the OPEN Beta finished by early December is out the window... so we'll see if there is some new announcement of OPEN Beta sometime before the Release Date.
Unfortunately I don't think it will come to pass. But, we'll see if I'm wrong.

If Darkfall indeed delivers with all it's promised features would you really not play it cause Tasos called you with a bad name? Really?
And if it comes out to be a unfinished piece of crap i won't be sorry that Aventurine made a few bucks less due to this insult.
You said it right, a good businessman would do exactly the opposite of what Aventurine have been doing with their marketing, i'm however mainly disgusted by what companies led by good businessmen produce in this particular industry.
The only thing that could ensure they won't bankrupt at the moment is a real good game. They don't have a well known franchise to base it on, they do minimal PR, they aren't a known company, the majority of the MMO community is really sceptical about their game, they're targeting a small market and they haven't wanted a single buck from anyone pre-release (yet) - they don't have all those things that usually net shitty games some money before they completely flop. The only way that they will make it out of the red will be a solid base of long-time players.
Wether it's all just one big bluff or they've made something amazing we have yet to see. I however have more confidence in them than in the big businessmen in this industry.
