You know those numbers include non active accounts to, right?
When Mark actually puts something in regards to how many people are "actually" still playing the game, then I'll pull up a chair and listen, but until then just like Browncoat of Warhammer Alliance said "it's all just smoke and mirrors".
Always good to see the WAR haters spend so much of their free time with us. Makes me thankful I have better things to do with my time then hang out on forums of games I dont play or like.
Seriously? You wouldn't call the OP a troll for the way he posted that?
I didnt say anything about the OP one way or the other. If you want me to point out the obvious concerning the OP I can, but whats the point ? Regardless, he knows there are a bunch of people out there that have shown time and time again they have enough free time on their hands so as to allow them to come to the forums of a game they hate and post and post and post some more. I dont play Eve, but you wont see me on their forums.

HAHAHAHAHA
Seriously. You couldn't have picked any worse statistics site then this one.
So what did you prove in the end? Absolutely nothing!
As if over 1 million people were actually ACTIVE and PLAYING, then over 75% of the servers wouldn't be dead in the water now would they!
Hence, they would have needed to open up extra servers to support all these active players.
It's only a raw data scrapping site. Nothing more nothing less. Hence by looking at several EU servers. Half those guilds aren't even around nor exist anymore LOL!
its good to see people respond to my post ..im glad to see i lit a fire under everyones asses ...ROFL...and you think all the accounts blizzard clames to have is all active ...11million you gota count gold spammers, quadboxers, inactive accounts etc
Rofl, seems he's completely stopped using facts now and just went into ignore mode, even claiming falsities already disproven in his own thread
It must be a sad day when one can't even troll using facts about one's own game or facts about one's other game ^^
Who wants to bet he actually thinks he's making himself or his game look good by doing this when it's actually doing the contrary?
So WoW has 13 million subscriptions? Not players?
And what are you advocating here? I'm a little confused as to what you bring besides the polar opposite view as the OP.
Who mentioned 13 Million subs? Ow ... you... lol, any more false info you want to provide?
The only polar opposite I provided was truth as opposed to false information. Unless of course you want to argue his case for him? Don't let me stop you, go ahead, argue how waralytics proves the game is doing just fine. Or have a go at how Blizzard apparently counts inactive subs even though each time they post their sub numbers they give a very extensive description of what they constitute as subs and they *exclude* inactive subs. All the subs they count are the ones that were paid for in the month before.
All the dualbox/goldfarm mentions, lol, that's true in any game and especially ironic coming from someone mentioning it for a Mythic game who's prior game was multibox heaven.
Is there anything you're actually here to *add* to this thread or are you just here to call in doubt what people say without actually giving any reasons or grounds for it?

I suppose I count myself in the middle as I'm not really a fan of either game (loved daoc tho).
What has bothered me is the consistant claims people make that WoW has very few subs in reality or is dying. Regardless of the PR claims... *here is a clue incoming*
Every quarter the gaming division of Vivendi (before the activision merge and.. even after) reports a record profit. This profit is always detailed as mostly coming from WoW.
It is 100% illegal to lie on financial disclosure papers... very heavy fines etc if you are caught doing that.
You can't make record profit every quarter with non existant subscribers.
That's the best thing we have to go on. I'm not really aware of EA or even Mark "spin" Jacobs making any comment on sub numbers since the free transfers have started. I know EA's share value has dropped so fast it has splinters in its arse and I know they are consolidating studio's and cutting jobs.
However, I really have no idea how many subs WAR has.
If someone can show me a more accurate line of thinking without some fanboi or troll spin.. I'll gladly be enlightened.

So you don't answer my question, then you ask the same question I asked.
Where is the proof you offered in your retort to the OP. I asked out of genuine curiosity, not malice. I have no love for WoW and I'm not ashamed at all to say it. But I am a realist in seeing that WoW is the number 1 game period. I've said it a hundred times and will continue to say it until it is no longer the truth.
WoW has people with multiple accounts the same as anyone else. I asked if the number posted is of subscibers or characters. Its an honest question. You seem to ONLY be capable of argung which is why I asked what you are advocating. Are you a WoW player who is adamant about the game? That's fine, but don't pretend to appear as though you've produced anything more than some of the other trashy people that reside on BOTH sides of this ongoing discussion.
If there was an idea of an average number of characters per subscription that's be a clearer indication of where the sub numbers are. I don't believe that the game has 1mil players/subs, but I also don't believe the game is hurting either. Proof? I don't have a fancy website to show numbers of people at certain times during an off-day to coincide with calculations to stretch that number to represent the actual subscriber count. I play and I see players more than I'd seen in other games this size or bigger. If you have something more let's see it.

Dollars and cents is just that. An increase in postive cashflow is a direct result of increased sales.
Blizz is a good company, they know how to make money. WoW is the number 1 game on the market. So what is there to argue, and what do the advocates of WAR and WoW get for arguing on the forums over a moot point.
More people play WoW, therefore more people like WoW. That is versus any game, the evidence is irrefutable. You can't spin it anymore than you can spin a president getting the electoral vote and the popular vote as being a good sign for the losing party.
Subs = cash money. Blizz has more of both and there is nothing that can be done to change that.

First off, I haven't argued the game is hurting anywhere in this thread which you'd know if you'd read my posts so you're preaching to the wrong person there.
As for WoW, pardon me, i've stated it often enough and recent enough that I actually thought I had already done so in this thread. With every statement WoW makes of it's subscriber numbers they clearly give the definition of what constitutes a subscriber. Then again, I never mentioned 13 million. 13 Million is a non existant number since Blizzard never announced such a thing. If you mean the 11 Million + they have then yes those are "subscribers", not "characters". Feel free to look up any of their press releases, it has a very clear definition of what "they" think constitutes one which is more than most other MMO's have bothered to define their subs.
Every game has people holding multiple accounts, it's just common sense. Then again, who in their right mind thinks of single live persons behind a computer when we talk about sub numbers these days? Anyone besides maybe the people trying to diminish a certain number? It happens in every MMO so trying to seperate it is almost meaningless unless it's very rampant like probably the later years of Daoc where buffbotting and multiboxing was rather common even before people started leaving and probably sold off their accounts to the people that left even more aggravating the issue. (had 3 myself though far before the game started dieing down)
As for WAr's real subs. We don't know, period. They announced 800k accounts created and that was the last of it. (last time they used that was at the "here we come korea" announcement if I'm not mistaken. All we can see are signs. A sign of growth mentioned often is the fact that some people see more people in game. This is probably lessened by the fact that people have been transferring or rerolling on the higher pop servers. Are there newcomers among them? Most likely, however the game has dropped off the charts quite a while ago already which does not seem to support a growth argument.
Imo the biggest question is is it breaking even on new subs/resubs versus people lost by now. I think it probably has, Xfire for one seems to have stabilized.
The next big question mark is how many subs do they have left? Noone knows, and unless the number of subs ever comes above 800k I doubt they'll be announcing a lower number (even though they aren't even the same thing) any time soon as it's just counterproductive. Most likely they'll announce more "Accounts Created" if the sub numbers stay lower than 800k.
You failed to note the biggest reason ' omg, my server has never been fuller'.. and that is that over half of servers are being closed down. Of course if you play on a destination server you were going to see an increase in players. In fact, since 60% of servers are being abandoned, the average destination server populations should have doubled.
A noticable increase of players on your server is not a sign of overall growth for the game when 60% of servers are being closed down and players are being routed onto 40% of the launch servers.
ok all you bliz kiddies and doom and gloomers check out these numbers....of how many people play war ...and you say this game is dieing ..this game has gained instead of loss from what i see hmmm.... http://www.waralytics.com/warservers/index
I was promised apples? Where are they?? Oh you thought reporting 1 million CHARS was apples?? Lol you owned yourself
Always good to see the WAR haters spend so much of their free time with us. Makes me thankful I have better things to do with my time then hang out on forums of games I dont play or like.
But your not playing your game... I guess the forums are funner then War... but thats old news
Actually I have a job, a girlfriend and other interests and hobbies besides WAR. So, no I do not play the game all the time. I do however visit the forums of the games I DO ACTUALLY PLAY, in order to keep up on the latest news, developments and what my fellow gamers are experiencing in the game, as well as to discuss the GAME I ACTUALLY PLAY and perhaps meet other players and find a guild or people to party with. You see, thats the point, I PLAY WAR, this is the WAR FORUMS, I play WAR and spend time on the WAR forums...is this starting to make any sense to you ?
And the forums of WAR (a game you dont play) are apparently "funner" then any games you are playing (according to your logic). Which only proves how ignorant you are to try and say the WAR forums are more fun for me than actually playing WAR -- I mean the WAR forums would then be "funner" for you then the games you would be playing....ummm, yes ?

You just lurk around waiting to respond to them apparantly.
Not sure this is much different...
So, there is no difference (in your eyes) between someone like me who PLAYS WAR and spends time on the WAR forums and people who HATE WAR and spend their free time on the forums of the game they hate ?
Dont answer this rhetorical question, it just serves to show how foolish your comment was.
its good to see people respond to my post ..im glad to see i lit a fire under everyones asses ...ROFL...and you think all the accounts blizzard clames to have is all active ...11million you gota count gold spammers, quadboxers, inactive accounts etc
all the WAR haters should bow down before you and kiss your feet. You gave their lives meaning in providing them a thread to post the same redundant things they have said about WAR over and over and over again. I see them here all the time and smile knowing how sad their lives must be. They really must have nothing better to do.

why must you QQ so much ...
Isn't there one guy with 32 accounts that he plays all at once?
That is pretty insane. I have 6 toons on one account so I can see where the 1mil number can be a little inflated.
But hell, even if every active account had say 3 toons on average, that is still over 300k subs.
It ain't WoW, but that ain't bad either.

If your only claim to fame is that you are better than SOE that's *really* not saying much.
I was promised apples? Where are they?? Oh you thought reporting 1 million CHARS was apples?? Lol you owned yourself
Enjoy !!
takes one to know one.
You just lurk around waiting to respond to them apparantly.
Not sure this is much different...
So, there is no difference (in your eyes) between someone like me who PLAYS WAR and spends time on the WAR forums and people who HATE WAR and spend their free time on the forums of the game they hate ?
Dont answer this rhetorical question, it just serves to show how foolish your comment was.
all the WAR haters should bow down before you and kiss your feet. You gave their lives meaning in providing them a thread to post the same redundant things they have said about WAR over and over and over again. I see them here all the time and smile knowing how sad their lives must be. They really must have nothing better to do.

You have to have a video make your threat for you? Now that's lame.
This is active characters, not players actively playing and subscribing. Nice spin, though.
says the guy with the kitten avatar...jesus.
