This game is exactly like Dark and Light now
Both made by small dev. teams. Both promised a revolutionary pvp game. Both had long delays.
But the fanbois said the big difference was that Darkfall would never take pre-orders to get into beta. Well now they are taking pre-orders. Now the two game are exactly the same.

A lot of people (including myself, and you for that matter) have been saying this on these forums for months. I am really considering getting out of the discussion now that the thing has been exposed to the point of no return. If the fans decide to pre-order the game at this point, the fault is going to be theirs.
Played (more than a month): SWG, Second Life, Tabula Rasa, Lineage 2, Everquest 2, EvE, MxO, Ryzom.
Tried: WoW, Shadowbane, Anarchy Online, Everquest, WWII Online, Planetside
Beta: Lotro, Tabula Rasa, WAR.
^ Soo true, though im sorry these two games didnt live up to thier promises

Except we haven't heard any leaks saying the game is shit. I seem to remember those from DnL, especially my own leaks.

Don't forget, you can use the block function on trolls.
To continue the spinning for the fun of it (i dont care, if theres a game in feb, ill try it or check it out, if not then continiue on with life).

There is pre-order but so far they aint getting you into the beta. They are getting you a head start on live servers. Please explain your intent where you feel the point the fanbois make is false and no longer valid.
Some more fun facts we can pick apart and make dragons of doom of:
* Pre-orders will arrive mid-feb
* The Limited open beta will start 22 Jan
* Aventurine confirms that there silence with the game was becouse they felt the Hype was to big and they didnt wanna make it bigger.
Is that jsut Bullshit, or is aventurine accepting that having a huge hype crowd at launch being a bad thing in the long run, and are now trying to avoid it? (its great for flaunch sell figures thou)

The sad part about this is, that we said the exact same thing about Vanguard and a few others after DnL hit the Fan (i think Vanguard was next in line if memory serves me, anyway you get the picture).
Having said that, Aion is a NCsoft HQ developed game. It will atleast be good enough to be worth the cash one pays for it. And as it looks like in Korea, its a big hit. Granted you have to enjoy the Asian Anime style to play it, but i do so screw the rest

Oh and saying asian grinder is just lol, after the last years of WoWization in Korea, i hardly think they still want the same old Lineage2 style games everoyne here seems to hate. NCsoft actually said they had to adopt to the WoWization with Aion to keep up with the genre, and not be stuck in the GrindEra.

198.75k of them have, its just they dont think its doomsday that aventurine has changed there gameplan, they still feel its a good plan to get the game out in a good manner.
But all the trolls just reads that as "OMG TASOS IS HOLY , TROLLS ARE HERETICS. TASOS NEVER LIED AND IS NEVER WRONG" - where in fact they are just saying ok so it fucked up, but they seem to have a good new plan so well see.

Atleast there will be Open Beta, if the game will be buggy or instable we've now that they wont sale many pre-order copies.
And DnL had a very special open beta and a very buggy one
. I still don't think it's the same.. Yet.
With DnL we've got fake screenshots, lies about the state of the game (features, stability a.s.o.) and total overhyped every day by the devs. And a difference game to open beta?
It's a long way to go before Aventurine is there. And I think they'll did it right to postpone the release if the game nor the developers and publisher wasn't ready.
Avoid collateral damage bust still takes a hit.

To be fare to all the poor Haters out there, one doesnt even have to be CLOSE to DnL, for the statement of SUCKAGE to still be true.

Edit: the preorder will be made mid february which is after the trial have started. getting early access makes more sense when you preorder though

I'd think Aventurine did what almost every MMO developer have done the last decade. But with Aventurine it's more of unexperience than plain griefing by 'businessmen' who don't even care about games.
Either way, the game is delayed. Probably dogde a bigger hit with it.

Things are slowly becoming apparent, in my opinion. Slightly off topic, but a review from a professional journo or members of the press would be ideal and help kill the speculation.
The only beta reviews officially made public are minimal and the "regular" updates from The Noob Comic I'm taking with a pince of salt due to the fact the owner is "friends" with Tasos Flamingo. So close infact, that Tasos has kindly allowed The Comic to host it's domain name on Aventurines server, how sweet!

This is nothing like D&L there is a Trial starting next week which you do not have to pay to get in to
like you had to with D&L. The pre-order's are only giveing the ones who do not get in to the open beta a
shot at getting in early, If you do not get in the just cancel the pre-order. Most places you pre-order from
do not take the money til the game ships.
Now with that said just chill out and wait and see what happens if you dont like how things are turning out then dont pre-order and move on to the next game you feel like ranting about failing.

A Public open beta would be open för everyone. Open beta doesnt neccesarily have to mean its open for everyone. My personal category for a Open beta is that the testers arent choosen in any way. Putting a limit on how many testers they want isnt choosing who they want, just how many they can handle. Ofcourse if the limit is like 10 ppl i wouldnt argue you hehe, but i hope you get my point.

There won't be an open beta. An open beta means anyone can play. Tasos said that there will be a limited amount of spots.

Technically by what Tasos said in his update today...
We don't know if there will be an Open Beta OR a Public Beta by what he's said.
He said:
"Starting on January 22nd there will be a Darkfall trial with the distribution of the release candidate client allowing thousands of players to sample the game for free, help us stress test our servers and test the final features of the game."
So for a couple thousand people they may get an "Open" Beta... we still don't know if they will have to sign an NDA or not at this point.
No mention of the words OPEN or PUBLIC Beta... or even the word Beta for that matter.

Actually you are almost right. DnL ran a small client under a different name for several months before release to my knowledge. People just expected the DnL client to be much much better based on Dev posts. I am so glad I didn't fall for that one.
