And there have been no credible reviews of the game yet, And they won't let you try the game before you buy it, even though for the last few years they said they would let you try it first, then yes, it is like D&L.
I am actually leaning towards one of my other assumptions from an earlier thread made in jest, that when all is said and done, there MIGHT be a real beta for subscribers (Tasos calls it release for preorders, I call it the long awaited closed beta) where there will be real subscriptions taking place while under an NDA. I could be wrong, but based on Tasos own comments, it is seeming more like this will be the situation...

If any one is really interested to see the parallels between these 2 pieces of software it is all laid out over there in the discussions about DnL, and if they spent a small amount of time researching what happened, they would see the same sequence of events happening all over again.
No matter how often people claim otherwise, neither AoC nor WAR had a paid beta. If you fell for the usual fileplanet routine of giving out keys to subscribers a couple days earlier than registered users, you've got noone but yourself to blame.
Didn't he say something about a open beta prior to the 22nd launch? Now there is a pre-order planned...It's just not looking good for them. At least AoC and WAR offered open betas. Actually, I can't comment on AoC's open beta, but I certainly played WAR's, and I am greatful to them for allowing me to do so, the only thing I lost was bandwidth. I didn't like the game, but I certainly didn't flame it. They gave me a chance to decide whether I wanted to play it long term or not, and I decided not.

Aventurine handled this game like the Cleveland Browns. Now, I don't watch football, but I do know a blunder when I see one. Aventurine has been promising the sky for a long F$^#ing time now. Not only this but every interview they've done has held the confidence of an info-mercial. Honestly, this entire situation screams the word scam. These guys have proven absolutely nothing past the fact that they lie and are vastly overconfident. We've been promised a trial before purchase, I expect one. Anything less from a company as poorly thought-out as this, would likely mean wasted money.
