I would say those saying yes now but are NOT raving fanboi's are pretty much aware of the fact that there is a damn good chance the game will suck donkey balls, but on the information SO FAR have decided its decent enough.

In my experience the ones that come back crying are usually those that say no in forum polls and slag the game off with no FACTS for doing so purely as a public display for how disgruntled they are that they haven't been personally handed their beta invite in devs' blood as though it were a personal insult.

Sorry, but your "indie" game has secured 45 Million Euros (valued at at least 66 million USD, per the exchange rates at the time the bonds were procured) in bonds in the last year and a half.  Add in your 11 million Euros and assume a conservatively averaged exchange rate a 1.5 Euros/USD and they've got over 80 million USD.  That's hardly low budget ...

Well.. if they have so much money, and produce such a low quality game, i dont see them good How much they need to improve the quality of the game?? Unless they have no idea what to do to money... hell yea...

I don't necessarily think the game is low quality.  I've seen some leaks that have both positive and negative points.  If anything, it appears that the game just isn't ready for release.  I definitely hope to be proven wrong.

WAR had a budget of over 250 Million USD and see how that turned out. By current MMO standerds 80 million is low budget. Combine that with a small company without hardly any expiriance in the MMO industry and being WAY to ambitieus. While with 80 million they should be able to make a decent ninch MMO, however they simply want to much with to little.

If I even THINK about giving this company my credit details, I hope someone slaps me silly.  Not that it would happen - I don't drop acid.

Nope, most MMO's fail to meet expectations, and the chances of this one failing is just as great as any other.

Will most definitely preorder.  This is entirely because I have so much fun at MMO launches.  No gaming experience compares for me.  I am fairly sure I will get my moneys worth out of the game.  It amazes me how many people think a preorder is final.  Almost ever preorder can be canceled up until shipment, and even then you can almost always refuse shipment and get your money back.  Just takes a little research.

I wouldn't miss this launch for anything.  Very excited.

Never really see a need to preorder, not like it will be hard to find a new game in a store (unless all you have are Gamestops and their lame 'we only got in 4 copies' crap).

As for the PO Bonuses, meh. 3 day head starts and free useless ingame item just dont really impress me all that much to warrent a PO.

There are 3 types of people in the world.
1.) Those who make things happen
2.) Those who watch things happen
3.) And those who wonder "What the %#*& just happened?!"

No not till i play it. I seen hitching in a few of the vids, and i want to see how the loot system works. If hoards are waiting with guilds at the banks waiting for people to walk up so they can wack em when they get stuff from the bank, then it would be stupid to play this game.

So ill wait till i get a beta invite, or open beta to make a choice.

According to the poll about 25% of the people here are incredibly stupid and naive.  Poor souls=)

After following the game for quite along time, and reading the *info* and *betaleaks* blogz, I will be playing it when it is avable.

I will only pre-order it if they do a MAJOR stress test before release (and it goes well).

    Otherwise, no.

I have been following this game for quite a while and was pretty excited about it.  Lately though with everything I have been reading and learning my lesson from past game releases, I'll just wait till it's out and see how things are at that time.

  • ZorvanZorvan Member CommonPosts: 8,912

Well i  have to go with my instinct on this one and that says "There ain't no mofo way  that  you're pre-ordering this mofockin game...mofo!!!"

....and yes to all wondering my instinct takes the form of Samuel L. Jackson

I might preorder if it guarantees early access and its competitively priced with other similar titles in the budget independent developer market section.

Because I'm a connoisseur of the unintentionally crap, and just as much a sucker for the best worst games as I am for the best worst B movies.

As other people have mentioned you just can't beat all that pre launch frenzy buzz from the excited hopers and dreamers, and then actually being in game for the community meltdown and the cry's of sorrow and outrage when reality bites is simply priceless, nothing beats it for sh*ts and giggles in my opinion.

If you think about it, this is the biggest and longest running joke in MMO history, I'm not sure if I want to miss out on it even if it means wasting money on preordering the game.

I dunno dude... Dawn still has people fooled apparently.  A guy mentioned it last night while drunk.

    No, I won't pre-order.

I have more faith in Hanbitsoft's claims of keeping Hellgate alive and releasing updates for it, than I do Aventurine's release date of Feb 25th.  However, that's not much more faith, just a little more as I think Hanbitsoft is almost as full of b.s. as Aventurine.

  • PolarizationPolarization Member Posts: 1,410

Another thing that makes preordering so attractive is the potential for griefing, consider that this is an open PvP game with full looting that is still in an early beta stage of testing with a very rudimentary and easily exploitable faction rating system.

Also has a latency situation that is extremely favorable to Europeans.

Sounds perfect for an enlightened griefer such as myself, could possibly get away with weeks of unmitigated mischief and shenanigan's before the game even launches.
