10 days till release, still nda.
No word on free trials, just preorders, collect cash and fly to caribes.
Who is going to be a fool to preorder this game?

Almost all games would at least have prepared for the open beta by now so people could have downloaded it at least. The NDA should at least lift within 3 days or they are probably planning to change the date again.
If we heard nothing a week before release in any game I say we have a problem. Of course it is possible that they wont have an open beta at all and no lift of NDA until release but that would be a bad sign.
Calm down guys, we don't need no open beta or play before you pay. We have something better now, when you pre-order you get to play a lottery mini game, you win you get log into a crashed server. If you lose you get to watch as Aventurine disappear and Tasos changes his name and flees to Somalia with all your cash to set himself up as a pirate king, HAR HAAAARRRR ME HEARTIES!

lol Darkfall is going to succeed because it makes people like OP waste their time creating an account with the name darkfall in it to tell the world how bad it is....yet no one will ever not buy the game because of him, his time is wasted and according to our holy leader tasos...he is helping bring more attention to the game.
OP needs to take a look at himself.
Oh btw lmk when you release your MMO and how easy it is to deal with a community filled with people like yourself who will bash the game no matter what they do.
Darkfall is a great game, people enjoy playing it and will be buying it, sorry if you arent in beta and that upsets you. Maybe you should get a puppy or something.

How do you know it is a great game?
No really... At the moment it is more realistic to call the game a piece of crap, then say it is great. We all read the same sources, yet.. how come there are lot of people who say it is rubish?
I have yet to encounter a game in which it is so.. obious it is going to fail.
May I PM you when the game is disapointing? Something along the lines of "Haha, told you so. Haha.". You can PM me to ofcourse if the game is superduper awesome.
But those chances are slim. But you can always stick your head in the sand and pretend that it is going to be perfect. But I am curious what people like you are going to do when it fails?

ok so when Tasos says in the interview "We will lift it in time for people to get enough feedback to make an informed decision." ur assuming that he is lying?
My prediction they will lift it with 7 days to go.

It amazes me how many people on this forum arent aware of what it takes to make a mmo and deal with this community that attacks anything they feel they can sound right about. At the end of the day if the game is fun, play it, some of you people need to take a good long look at yourself.

Because Aventurine or Tasos said they would do that, because they didnt believe in preorders etc etc..But that has all changed now..:)
More presisely they said they would let everyone try the game to deiceide if it was worth to buy or not..

The question is $50 to big of a money to throw around
Most of the haters also wont feel that this kind of money will be that of a pinch.
Even i feel games like WAR and AOC $50 was a complete waste of money .
So I will preorder $50 is not that big of an amount .I hve seen some beta vids and for curosity sake I will buy it . Yes many may say waste of money , perhaps .
The question is whether the game will be worth it to warrant another $15 subscription each month.
for me $15 each omth spent on AOC and WAR was a complete rip off

Most people on this site doesn't like Darkfall due to tasos spindoctoring.
Fair enough everyone's entitled to their opinion.
Doesn't change the fact that if game will be good or bad thousands of people will still play it because its different.
and tasos is just as bad as the others out there.. Garriot/Quaid/Smedley/Koster etc etc i could go on, all have spin doctored their games at one point, no different to tasos.

To go alittle off-topic. The game is great and can speak for itself. I dont like when people asume the game must be crap because they dont like Tasos personality (wich have nothing to do with the game). I mean, are you for because you like MMOs or drama? This is a MMO site after all. My gf like drama, so she visit "PerezHilton" forums. Maybe some of the people here is on the wrong forum?

nono we are talking about free trials AT LAUNCH, in other words to launch a game allowing ppl to try it for free at the same time.

To be fair most MMOs don't have completely open betas anymore or trials at launch. Last open betas I can remember being part of was Lotro and Dark age of Camelot...
On the other hand Tasos himself has said that everyone should get the chance to try the game before buying, care to explain that Darkstar?
Most MMO's don't need to have open Betas because they have closed beta tests consisting of tens of thousands of people.
Darkfall on the other hand seemingly let in a few hundred idiotic fanboys to their "beta" lol
Why would they have an open beta or a trial? All it means is that people can try the game, decide they dont like it and dont buy the game after release.
WITHOUT a trial people will have to buy it to play it and will most likely have more patience with the game because they've spent money on a game...
