The offical FACT Thread.

I'm looking for Facts about Darkfall, I've seen many fanboys post that Aventurine wasn't expecting this many accounts to be created, but how is that not to be expected when the beta sign up hit 200k?

So, I thought I'd start a fact thread.

FACT: Aventurine KNEW there would be a large demand for their product

FACT: Aventurine was not ready for that load

FACT: Darkfall IS NOT STABLE

    FACT: DarkFall is NOT released.

another fact: blizzard had the same problem, but of course not that big because they had the money... but nonetheless, they had real trouble getting the servers up and running because they underrated the demand

(sorry for bad english, isn't my native language ;))

Difference here though between Blizzard and AV, WoW had hundreds of thousands trying to hit their servers. AV cannot even get ten thousand players successfully logged in.

FACT: Aventurine neither cares nor wants to hear from its playerbase. 6pm Athens time atm. They kicked everyone off their servers over 12 hours ago, and we have not heard back from them, and their forums are still down. Basically they told their playerbase F OFF! MUAHAHA! You are on your own.

This is indeed also a fact (part anyway).

But is missing information. Blizzard did indeed have more money than AV, but not lots more. WoW is also the first mmorpg product that Blizzard had released. The money they had was from their free to play (buy on purchase) expansions of Diablo arpg, Starcraft, and the Warcraft strategy games.

Wich makes the situations almost identical, except Blizzard fixed it. Now lets just see if Aventurine will be able to fix it too.

Maybe it was just major overconfidence of them to try and launch a game of this scope. Perhaps they should have build funds with other games first, or get their funds trough other routes (wich I actually thought they did, but you said they have no money in your fact, so I will go by that).

Even though blizzard had more money, we payed like the same price.  However the team at darkfall closed any form of communication with them. Of course fanboys can say they have to work on fixing it not get spammed, however theres different kind of people for different jobs.

if course that's another scale there. but remember, wow had more than one server opened at launch...

even today, the wow servers are very unstable when there are many people online (atleast in EU)

    Only facts:

    - this seems to be a stress test . I remember the Lotro's stress test ( a lot of pbs with account server, login server etc) But it was 3 months before the release and of course, free of charge. Customer service was perfect and gave us news immediatly. DFO players payed for a stress test, without customer service, without an official forum. They are actually ALONE.

    - Official forums are down since.. don't know, 24H?

    - Servers are down

    - People tried to buy the game (are they haters ?) and couldn't

-Some (lot ?) of them don't even have the email from AV

    - It's a preorder, the day of release, so it's an order...

    - client crashes.

    - Noone BT the end game.

    - It seems now AV doesn't have a publisher.

    - It's the worst release I saw, wasn't there at AO and DnL release. But was there for AOC, VG and many MMORPGS, DFO's release is the worst of all.

Umm...check your facts, MMORPG's were not "new" in 2005.  Everquest had been out for 6 years at the point that WoW was released.
