Ah, all of the tears coming from your eyes must be blocking your view. This is in fact the Darkfall forum SECTION at MMORPG.com.
Let me enlighten you.
This is a section on a general mmorpg gaming website.
This website is not run by Aventurine, by Tasos, or by you.
Aventurine does not get to decide who posts and what they post here.
Tasos does not get to decide who posts and what they post here.
You do not get to decide who posts and what they post here.
So take your whiny little insults and "commands" over to the official Darkfall forums where Tasos and Aventurine will silence everyone who disagrees with you to your hearts content.
As soon as they figure out how to get them running again, that is.
If they even bother.
But that's merely a suggestion on my part, since I can't tell you where to post either.
But I can tell you where your "zomg go back to WoW" drivel will be laughed at, spit on, ridiculed, and flamebasted in general.
FACT: Never pre-order or buy an MMORPG on the day of the release, be patient and wait for ATLEAST a month so they can iron SOME of the problems THEY ALL EXPERIENCE ON LAUNCH!
That's not a fact it's a suggestion.
FACT: I am not a crook.
FACT: This is a pay-to-beta/pay-to-stress test. I agree they should have done an open-beta which should still be going on because clearly there's some huge issues causing people to get all hot and bothered.
Pre-orderers get the oppurtunity to play the game before anbody else other MMOs have done this on launch its still released though. Google "Darkfall Release date" every site I click says Feb 25th of this year. So Darkfall said this was a release but its really a beta is what your saying, which I dont doubt its still in beta, but not according to there offical Release Date.
Difference here though between Blizzard and AV, WoW had hundreds of thousands trying to hit their servers. AV cannot even get ten thousand players successfully logged in.
if course that's another scale there. but remember, wow had more than one server opened at launch...
even today, the wow servers are very unstable when there are many people online (atleast in EU)
Bull crap.
My bro is still able to play on every server he is on, and it are all full servers. I myself used to play it too, with nog issues.
Yea, ill go back to WoW.
Does that mean you'll stop posting here then?
See ya!
go back to the DF forums! /evilgrin

No.
that's because you can't...aventurine really has no cares for its players :P
Do you have daddy issues and feel neglected? Need to project your feelings of abandonment on a game company? It's okay dude, cry your tears. Once you're done WoW will be waiting for you, where you can type your slash commands to your heart's content.
FACT: You =
nope but any company will agree..the first 24 hours is the most important for new customers, and if they are having technical issues you want to be there communicating with them. It's good business. How many other games can you say, on launch day, turned off their forums and said basically "here, we don't care what happens, we wont be communicating with you...good luck..and see you in a few days"
Is it safe to assume that you wont be a customer then? In that case, can I also assume that you'll stop posting here?
See ya!
why would i stop posting here..these aren't game only forums....if you want Darkfall only forums...go to the darkfall forums....
OH WAIT!
and i am a potential customer, just waiting until they iron out the servers.....but.....wont be for at least 2-3 months before i seriously think of purchasing it again.
Ah, all of the tears coming from your eyes must be blocking your view. This is in fact the Darkfall forum at MMORPG.com. You must be looking for the 'Ex-fans who have nothing better to do than post the same rhetoric over and over again in a paltry attempt to make Darkfall look bad and turn people away from the game' forums. I would look around the MMORPG.com general forums for that subtopic.
Will you at least do us the favor to stop posting for the 2-3 months before you decide if you want to buy the game again? I can assure you that your cries for attention wont get heard by Aventurine here.
Or, apparently, anywhere. Since the forums are down and they have closed off all communication...just saying.
another fact: blizzard had the same problem, but of course not that big because they had the money... but nonetheless, they had real trouble getting the servers up and running because they underrated the demand
Yes, but this was 5 years ago and mmos were rather "new".... we are in 2009 now
Umm...check your facts, MMORPG's were not "new" in 2005. Everquest had been out for 6 years at the point that WoW was released.
Guy, learn to "think" before missing the point.
First, "new" and "rather new" is not the same, is it?
The point being that, considering it takes 4+ years to develop an mmo, yes you can say mmos were rather "new" in 2004 when WoW came out. It's not like you launch an mmo in 2001 and then launch another one in 2002. FYI Darkfall has been in development for 8 years....
How many mmos were there when WoW came out ? And how many are there today?
In 2004 they didn't have the knowledge, the technology and same access to server cluster infrastructures which are common things today. At worst, a launch in 2009 should be better than a launch in 2004.
Meridian 59 was the first 3D MMO. 1996. MMOs have been around awhile. EVE was released in 2003 and their server cluster beats any current MMO. Easier with space, but still very impressive.
Difference here though between Blizzard and AV, WoW had hundreds of thousands trying to hit their servers. AV cannot even get ten thousand players successfully logged in.

Just saying.
That's my point, if you would care to listen. They aren't listening. To you, or anyone. All communication has ceased, which is horrible for a new MMO company. I fear this game may go the way of Vanguard, if Adventurine keeps failing the way it has. Just my opinion...

Nice, didn't know about Meridian, so that makes 1 more before Everquest came out in 1999. This doesn't sound like there were dozens of mmorpgs, does it?
Does that make mmorpgs a common thing for that time? Compared to the 100+ we have today?
The point still stands. An mmorpg launch should be a common thing today. In 2004 they were still learning about the technology. A 2009 launch should be better than a 2004 launch.
Today there are dozens of mmorpg engines readily available to the developers. In 2000 when Wow was in development they were still learning how to do things.
As for EVE, in 2003 they didn't have the cluster they have today. As the years go by they learn and improve the technology. Just a could months ago they moved part of the cluster to 64bit. As you say, the Eve cluster is impressive.
-> What is readily available today was not in 2000-2004 when wow came out. It was still "rather new" compared to today.

Sorry Brad but Smedly isn't going to buy your shit this time.
I would hope that isn't a fact. (I call BS). But, if it does happen, I predict that DF would become just another "Cookie-Cutter" MMO. They would change its core mechanics to appeal to a broader customer base. On the other hand, you would have micro-transactions.
I'm looking for Facts about Darkfall, I've seen many fanboys post that Aventurine wasn't expecting this many accounts to be created, but how is that not to be expected when the beta sign up hit 200k? So, I thought I'd start a fact thread. FACT: Aventurine KNEW there would be a large demand for their product FACT: Aventurine was not ready for that load FACT: Darkfall IS NOT STABLE
FACT: Facts are usually substantiated with evidence.

Comments
Then what do you call it, Beta of the Beta?
FACT: Even 1000 retarded monkeys coding for 1000 years could turn out a better mmo than darkfall has.
FACT: Everyone whining right now deserves what they are getting. Everyone saw it coming except fanbois with blinders on.
