Savage2 is very fun to play.
But its no MMORPG. And thats what we want.
I don't see your point. The fact that DFO is a MMO does not justify its garbage and depth-less combat system.

actually its a RTS/FPS/Persistent game.
It currently has more going for it than darkfall.
It also has a more robust melee combat system, a True FPS magic system, and more skills with real utility than darfall has. Its has constant PvP action, loot, and a form of crafting.
All dark fall has is swing vertical, or horizontal, and a blue ball. So, I'm still not seeing it.
This was also made by an indi company, And its free to play.

So how do you feel Savage 2 combat system compared to WoW combat system? DF is atleast manual aimed and realtime without hidden dicerolls. Wich we can not say about WoW.

Its painfully obvious to any FPS player that DF two mode attacks are... simplistic and moronic. Even for an MMO its pathetic. Half the vids I see most people dont even use both modes.. they simply swing and go Benny Hill on everyones ass.
But it lacks adventure, quests and many other key MMORPG elements. Hell, it's combat system is more robust than any MMORPG. You can't compare two different genres of games. Find an MMORPG to compare it to, not an FPS who's focus is combat, but nothing that an MMORPG has. It lacks any kind of loot system apart from taking souls which you lose at the end of the game. The shop items you buy you lose at the end of the game. The levels you don't lose mean nothing. Everything else is purged at the end of each match. Like CSS, you buy wepons and what not, when an enemy you can pick up their wepon, but you lose it all. Also like the two, the only persistent thing is stats.
End the dumb comparision between two entirely different genres now?

You have no idea how I hear that music in my head everytime I watch a DF video (looking for this "higher" combat). If the kids didn't dub the awful DF sounds with some EMO tripe I'd be ok.

With that moronic logic, Vangaurd isn't an mmo b/c such a small amount of ppl play it.
massively multiplayer refers to how many people can play together in 1 world (which is why guild wars is officially not an mmog but a cmog, cooperative multiplayer online game), not how many people bought the game.

The trolls are getting desperate with this thread.
The combat system is a lot of fun. It might not be the multi-directional mount & blade combat, but it is a step up even for melee. You can call it boring, but I've fought a lot and it's still fun. what it lacks in multi-directional it makes up for in positional play.
Course, it's just like any other games, the people that lose have to fault it so they don't look so bad.

Savage 2 combat sucks balls. It's paper, rock, scissors all over again. Paper beats rocks beats scissors beats paper. What in the world is so revolusionary about that?
daarco not to burst your bubble has hidden die rolls -- it's an RPG... your character has stats -- there for there is some sort of random number involved somewhere along the line with combat... IE... shield block, or damage or a crit hit... so again I'm AM bursting your bubble... DF has dice... if there is no dice, then there skills mean nothing -- perhaps there skills are just a bunch of numbers to trick the users? I don't know yet... but there is indead hidden die rolls.

If you 're going to play a FPS, it's hard to beat Battlefield or Call of Duty, IMO.
I hate people that don't give games a second chance, when they have a bad experience they just leave and never look back, this is what killed vangaurd, a great game atm, but no one plays it. Savage 2 updated their melee system to seem more like the S1 melee system. Its definitely not as good as S1's melee system, but unlike before, it actually takes skill (dodging was made like 10x more effective so its kindof like a "leap", you can no longer "interupt", and blocking no longer stuns but negates damage)
Anyway to the people who say takes no skill (though it does compared to the other forms of war in DF), try crouch dodging attacks and jumping over them too (i heard you can jump over horizontal swings, and its confirmed that you can crouch dodge a horizontal swing)

Why would you give a game a second chance? The content is already old. Who cares if the system is repaired, if you've already played the content, why not move on to the next new content instead of going back to old content?
