Look I understand many people have a lot of problems with this game which is why I posted. If you put developer politics aside and simply judge the game on its own merits I think we all agree that Darkfall has a unique spin on a modern sandbox MMO while reinventing features many of us miss.
Unfortunately, in today's world, you can't separate the two. The game and the company that makes it is a package deal. Just look at SoE and Star Wars. You can't have one without the other. Aventurine needs to shape up if they want to compete in the MMO genre.

Exactly. How can people forget that a MMORPG relies on more than just game mechanics? It relies on the company supporting it. It's not like a single player game where the company can just release it and forget it. Desiging and releasing a MMORPG is only the start, what really decides a MMORPG's future is how the company handles their subscirbers and treats the community after it's released.
A MMORPG and their company are completely intertwined, you can't seperate one from the other and they have to be judged together.

I've been in over a dozen MMO's and never contacted support. If they make a game I like I'll play it happily, if they don't I'll move on.
I DO play this game currently and it's a ton of fun. You say that the dev a gameplay are judged together, well I'll say that Aventurine wants the game I want. They want to have a FPS feel, they want boats and big battles, they want lots of fighting and battling and a player built world.
Which developer is more likely to advance a game in the way I want, one that just wants a slick game that can pull money out of our pockets or developers that want to build a game that they want to play.
You don't see any, or at least not many large developers making PvP, sandbox, skill based games.
are you saying darkfaill is a good "skill based " game?
MAWHAHAHAHA ..thats rich
if you call pvp runing around in circles like the benny hill show and chaseing or being chased with about 4-5 other leechers trying to steal a grave fun..well ...your way of fun / being skill based is like throwing a huge rock up in the air and letting it smack you in the face..this game is weak in soo many ways..cant belive people are falling for the" flavor of the month" mmo's nowa days...they just dont make em like they used too / sigh
1) someone who would rather have the best possible graphics over gameplay
2) a cowardly/carebear who whines when killed and doesn't accept risk or loss as gameplay mechanics
3) highly uncoordinated and/or just not into twitch-based gameplay
4) someone who majorly or exclusely PVEs
5) someone who loves doing quests
if you're one or more of these categories, please, save your money, and do not buy Darkfall. you will probably hate it. Course, if you've only ever played WOW, then DF might just open your eyes to something new and very different and you'll fall in love with it as we have.

Why does everyone say that Darkfalls battle system is new or never been done before? I can name games with the same combat systems or even better "DDO, Oblivion, NVN, and hey all fps out there" This isent new or groundbreaking its just wolfmans with sword and PvP that will make ppl teabag you and shout out "Nooob!1!"

Why its the same reason Worlds.com think they own ALL MMORPGs.
Because they did it ONLINE first.
.....
Even though there were many offline games that were exactly the same as their now MMO counterparts and they have nearly all the exact same elements.
(see Ultima 7 vs Ultima Online)
Essentially if the game wasn't online it doesn't count, I mean obviously right?
(Sorry if you can't tell how horribly sarcastic I'm being)

6. Likes PvP, and fast based game play, but wants a complete product even on an Indi level.
