I spend 1 or 2 hours looking to find a way to complete a quest that would take 30 min tops to complete. Ultimatly that's why i quit back then but i'm bored stiff here and i'm looking to go back, possibly.

Just recently they've added a quest tracker that would help you a lot. Some people like it and some don't but its really a matter of personal preference. You can turn it off if you don't. It just basically shows you where you are suppose to go on the rader (an arrow) and the map as well. It can be very useful especially if you hate alt-tabing out to look quests up in the browser.
That would help me a lot. I tried to find a nicely written website for quests but i didn't look hard enough.

Questing hard? You have got to be kidding. LotRO is a third grade hand holding crappy but eye candy looking game now. Thanks to the last major patch. But you can find a challenge (thankfully) if you run off exploring and try to find mobs that are white, yellow, or orange. But now I have been deleting all lower quests completely from my journal. Only reason i still even play this is because my wife likes it and she can't even read the quests. But we have fun running around together. She is dyslexic.
I've tried reading the quests however i failed. When the quest text says: "north of town" and the town is at the very south of the map that's a lot to explore.

And besides, in real life, if my boss said, 'i need you to pick up some very important papers north of town', I'd probably ask some follow up questions, rather than driving blindly north, excited about the 'challenge' of completing the quest.
Try asking your next npc follow-up questions, they way you would for an 'actual' quest. Hey look at that....the root of the word 'question' is 'quest', and yet, in-game you cannot ask them.
Sounds like a quest tracker is a good alternative.
Don't get me wrong, I do think there should be some mystery involved in some content, however, I don't go to an npc to pick up a 'mystery', I'm looking for a quest, for which I can ask zero "quest"ions.

Poorly explained quest directions and incorrect quest level labeling is what made me quit LOTRO. The quests provided vague directions and about 25% of them are labeled incorrectly in regards to level. Sorry but I dont have time to run around for 2 hours looking for a stupid quest location because the quest writers suck. And I play WOW AND I play Eve Online(Possibly one of the most unforgiving games out there). LOTRO quests pretty much like to waste your time. The "Books" were well done though.

Perhaps another option to avoid over-exploitation of this option would be a type of 'quest-help' button. Something that you could only use once or twice in a 24 hour period? Maybe linked with the destiny points or something I don't know. I feel your pain though... But at least with this option everone would win. People that are really struggling to find something could help themselves instead of using the Advise chat non-stop. Because that's really what the 'lazy gamer' would do instead of alt-tabing and looking it up in the browser or just exploring around for it. I do understand that the maps in LOTRO take some time getting used to especially when coming from a more detailed mmorpg map system. However the best way to learn to swim is to just jump in but there has to be a life line there. I'm certainly not advicating for a baby-pool if you know what I mean?

First off, this is not real life. In real life I would look on Google maps with my phone.
Second, It's awful funny that Myself, and many others, managed to figure out our quests by READING THE DIALOGUE, and max out several toons...not only in LoTRO, but in many other games where there was no fucking hand holding.
No, Turbine added this feature because of the morons who are used to playing MMOs on auto-pilot without having to bother reading. You know the ones who sit and cry in Bree about not being able to find the Vale of Andrath, or even better...the Great East Road??
Hell, I bet a lot of them can't read anyway, having skipped school for the last 4 years to play WoW.
Not only do they need someone (an NPC of all things) to tell them what to do, but NOW they need to be told with a big red arrow how to go do it, and where.
Seriously...take a while to explore the area you are in. It's not all about playing a game of connect-the-dots all the way to max level....explore the world that the devs worked their asses off to create. You never know...you might even have a bit of fun, and a little adventure, that doesn't require some NPC telling you to.

Haha, What a wonderful world. The true sense of completion is when people have zero sense of accomplishment. I wish I had all my hard work just handed to me on a platter so I never had to lift a finger. Hell I wish I didn't even half to use my brain/eyes OR move my hands in order to play a MMO. That would be grand. Real aheivers the lot of us, truly worthy of being epic dragon slayers.

LOTRo is easy indeed, for me. The quests are nice, and the starter quest really draws you into the game. I like the hobbit one most.
But then LOTRo being easy does not justify your insults above. Why are people called morons? They do not have the time or mood to explore, that makes them moron? Maybe they are very professional in their walk of life and works very hard. By the time they went home, they need to wind down and want some easier features from a game. Maybe you are so unemployed in real life that you can only find challenge in a game. Maybe maybe, nobody here know nobody else, and you have to call them morons. What does that reflect on your intelligence level?
Seriously, stop telling people how to play their game, and stop name calling. Others are showing the OP the new map "OPTIONS" that can help. If you have nothing to contribute, you can read and move on.
As for those above who cry out loud at the new feature, you can turn it off. You can even close your minimap and explore like the EQ days.
Not everyone need to be an achiever in a game. Maybe they already achieve enough elsewhere, they do not care about caressing a big ego when they log onto a game.
There's still so many places to cheat and find your way....and no difficulty at all to get where you want to.....if you actually want to show some effort...at all.....and I don't see that from you "I can't do this" crowd so far

Most quests are frustratingly easy. I understand if you mean the fellowship quests, though. There's too damn many of them sometimes and they're a bitch if you're on a lower-populated server or play on off hours and it's too hard to just skip them because they're the only quests that yield nice equipment.
Not dogging anyone that thinks they're hard, though. Just turn the quest marker on or ask in advice or ooc.
This would be the reason they added the quest helper option.
Just to add a useless option that no one wants because quests are well explained and only to blatently copy WoW.

I can't believe what I'm reading! Questing is too hard and it's hard mostly because of the directions it gives? I played this game up till a few months ago and never once found the quest too hard. If the quest said go to the north and find "X". I would point myself in a northern direction and run as straight as the terrain would let me and I would say that over 90% of the time I would find what I'm looking for. I'm not trying to be insulting here but maybe some of the people here just have problems understanding how a compass works and following directions on it.
I'm not calling you wrong or anything for that matter. I'm just pointing out me and 2 other people quit the game because they coudn't figure out the quest directions. This matter was frustrating to us and we decided to take our gaming some place else.
Some people have seen it as a challenge and worked through it. Now it seems easy and dull to you because you're achived those quests. Some people never did.
Calling them morrons and lazy is going to create a defensive reaction. Do not expect any support here, not even from the people how feel the same way as you.

I just think its funny that the people that are against this quest tracker option don't even play the game anymore. Seems pointless to argue about it doesn't it?
More and more people seem to want a game where a single click puts them at max level, and pounding a button on their keyboard will eventually net them the best gear. Easy is the name of the game, and so few want a game that requires reading, thought, or a bit of exploration. Mindless Mmo Monkeys.
I don't know what i want. I was bored in wow. I'm bored in CoV. I'll prolly get bored in LotrO too. Those are all MMOG, maybe i don't like mmog anymore? I could build the effiel tower with matches maybe?
It may not be as much the best gear at max level as the pace of the game. Remember Super Mario Island? or FF6? Those games were fun and back then they didn't care about extending gameplay.
