Will Texas please secede already?!?!?

popinjaypopinjay Member Posts: 6,539

Governor Perry,

Stop threatening the United States with seccession. You are all hat and no cattle. If you do not like the way the country is going and keep complaining about the direction, you claim you have the right as you say, in your 'treaty' that you signed with the federal government to begin seccession proceedings. What's stopping you?

So, will you please DO it already? It's getting old listening to "We should think about seccession" over and over again. Please go. You can keep all the oil there. You can keep the Gulf Coast. It's yours.. just take it and go. Hopefully, all the people who think like you in this crackpot view will move there as well.

Oh, and btw: You won't be able to get anymore United States aid from us either. You already took aid from the Federal Government 13 times since you took office in the name of Texas. So shut up or put up.

What is it now, ten or eleven states prepared to succeed?  You better hope those states get more back than they pay in to the feds.  If the net contributors leave the union, you're going to have to work extra hard to pay off that national debt.  I'd suggest getting a third job now to get a head start.

Succeed at what?  Texas has succeeded at many things.  But if they ever do decide to secede, then I would have to think long and hard about moving there.  Even though I am not a hot weather person.

No it isn't, lol. It's just that crackpot hellhole.

And the United States would simply just take what we wanted from them. It's our history anyways from ripping stuff from other "countries". So, let them secede, then we go in and "liberate" them.

I think it's a good idea actually. I would LOVE to "liberate" Texas, Iraq style.

Maybe they are busily working out a new union with the other ten states.  Man they are going to have it easy when they jump off this sinking ship and shed all that debt responsibility.

Yeah some crackpot hellhole with Bell, Pantex, TI, and oil. Not to mention a few military bases.  IMO you have a very twisted view of Texas.

Hold on Snow Leopard, imma let you finish, but Windows had one of the best operating systems of all time.

Floods, intense heat, tornadoes, hail the size of basketballs, humidity, jungle-sized mosquitos, dirt, dirt, and MORE dirt, militia groups walking around with guns, huge crime problem in their cities... my mistake. I'm sure it's a real paradise. Just not my idea of one.

so if texas does secede will they bring back slavery?  if this did happen i think a few more southern states would go with them.  of course a 2nd civil war would break out resulting in another southern beatdown,  while this is going on britain and france will team up to take back the 13 origional colonies.  of course russia will take advantage of this and invade from the north. and finally mexico and all of south america will come from the south completing our destruction.  so when its all said and done britain and france will split the 13 origional colonies.  russia will split some of the nothern states with canada when canada makes a deal to avoid war of any kind.  most of the south will go to mexico and south america.  the indians will be given a few midwest states.  and california will sink into the ocean when the big one hits.

just in time for 2012 yeah? States shouldnt secede, they should grab more support and put pressure on these presidents we have. It's not like these laws or bills or even stimulus bill passed with just the presidents signature. These fuckers are also part of the problem. THEY voted for it, shitty politicians are shitty.

Interesting question, but think about what you said.

Who in this day and age would allow themselves to be captured and placed into slavery, knowing what their lives would be like?

What race of people would just sit back and allow themselves to be placed into slavery? lol. And where would you get the slaves from? There are no places left on the planet that doesn't know what slavery is unlike hundreds of years ago. The world court wouldn't allow it and Texas would lose it's right to soveriegnity. They would be like post-war Japan or Germany, unable to make any decision or wipe their butt without approval from another country.

Your proposition fails due to lack of vision.

Sudan, India, Pakistan to name a few. In the western world "slavery" is also known as "9-5" or "wage-slave" or "white collar":P

Do you have any comprehension of what a politician does for a living?

You do know that Perry is a politician?

I personally think that any state seceding is taking the easy way out like running away from the problems. If someone really doesn't like whats going on do something about it don't moan all day and threaten about leaving which will just make it worse.

    That's just it...

You don't tell Texans what to do....ESPECIALLY from Washington DC.

That's when they'll polish their shotgun.

Bush is in office.  Liberals protest and work on getting more liberals back into office.

Obama is in office.  Conservatives threaten to take their ball and go home.

What would be even more hillarious is if they seceded and then we decided to wall off our entire southern border.  It would epic beyond belief.

Have you ever been here?  It doesn't seem like it.

This is where I live in Texas.  Hardly looks anything like what you're describing.

Actually, that's an old photo.  It's growing while the rest of the nations cities are falling apart economically.  Construction is underway all over downtown Dallas and our real estate values have not suffered hardly at all.  And crime is down in record levels.

About the only problem we're having right now is the schools.  But trust me, there are enough people screaming about that to where I anticipate a quick turnaround soon.

I will be in Texas sometime toward the end of next week.  If they secede while I am there I may not leave!  I wish the whole of the west would leave the union.  If Montana secedes or Idaho or any of the western states I would move to it in a heart beat!
