I can't decide if these were meant to show me the masculine side of Aion or to assist what I am saying in this thread.

"It has nothing to do with being aimed at a female audience, the overwhelming majority of people who read mangas and watch animes are male (not including the romance/love mangas which have probably more girls reading them)."

So yea, you're not used to animes, that's why I'm telling you the art has nothing to do with being aimed at a female audience.

It's just a culture you're not familiar with, which is fine.

I hope they use that quote in their official game literature now!

<Shrugs> But my wife loves it so far...I think for most of us put some nice looking eye candy in a game and it has a chance to attract a females eye....and then attracting a female attracts males. One could use a bar physchology <LADIES NIGHT> seems to pack in males and females alike.

I'm assuming from the responses here that no one is actually familiar with what is typical build and stature for an Asian male?  It certainly doesn't match the hulking he-man concept people seem to want Aion to follow.

If you can't get your male toon to look fierce enough, do the honourable thing and roll a sexy woman instead.

Aion appeals to both genders, reflective to it's art which seems to come from an anime kinda of form. I don't like anime.....I work on computers and those tentacles scare me! A joke on the last part, but they are scary. Hide your DD+ housewife from those tentacles guys!

Its not the game devs, a lot fo the players are just making pussy ass characters. the game has a full range of manly features such as full beards, and battleworn faces, players just seem to be keeping it sweet 16 preteen.

Also, there is a huge lack of plate thongs and gstrings when it comes to the female armor, which is surprising for an NCkorea title, i mean to go from lineage 2 style of art to this is a shock, but the game is great.

The art of Aion is very bright and cheery, colourful and happy. Guys in Aion look slightly gay and feminine.

I don't really like it, but I'm European and in Europe people aren't really fond of flashy and happy themes. In Asia people can't get enough of it.

What many people on this forum don't seem to know is that Aion in Asia is not catered to adults, it's more a teen game. From gauging the players there, most are 14-18 and many are girls.

I think the male characters can look as burly as they want, however most of the players that play that game choose to make the players like the ones you see often in the screenshots.

The reason for this is that players are almost all asian at the moment and they like that metro style more.

As for all the anime comments, the game looks nothing like anime at all. i have no idea how you people say it looks like that.

Not arguing or disagreeing with you, but how did you "gauge" the players to be mostly around 14-18 girls?

I guess everyone has different experiences. Most Chinese players I've met have been late teen - mid 20s guys
