Can anyone recommend fansites for CURRENT skill tree and crafting info, everything I find is very out of date.

A country raised New Zealand girl can kill, bleed, gut, skin and butcher a sheep in about 40 minutes, the sheep are bigger than a large person ... so be careful about pissing off a NZ country girl.

So its not a winback trial as much as it is an offer of 2 weeks off of re-subbing?

It's pretty much a winback trial, you get 2 weeks of playtime for free with no strings attatched.

Anyways I figured I could kill some time by giving this game another try. I don't really plan to stay for longer than the winback trial, but 2 weeks of ganking and such with my friends sounds fun.

There are strings. You essentially have to re-sub. Which means for anyone who tries it and doesn't like it, but doesn't specifically go to FC's site and cancel, you will be billed for an active subscription.

I opted to try the game again and did not have to add credit card information. The account is open till July 22nd and the billing is labeled as cancelled. The only way Funcom can bill is sending a bill through the mail. The no strings attached appears to be true.

I would class it as a winback for sure: They have a whole new website saying what's changed: http://www.ageofconan.com/updates/#/us  lots of up and down / left + right buttons describing the changes since launch.

It's an offer of 2 weeks off re-subbing, with the intention of winning back those that were driven away early.

    MUNDO!!

It takes no more than 4 minutes to cancel your account on Funcom's website. If you want to call that  a string, it isn't tied that tightly.

Their intention is to "winback" players that previously canceled their accounts. I'd call that a winback trial. Semantics.

It says my account is payable and I haven't entered any CC data at all. I have like an hour or so left on the client download so I'll update then.

Not certain where you get that from. It says quite clearly on the email in the steps to re-start your account for the program:

Your account is free of charge, and you will not be billed unless you choose to become a subscriber again AFTER your 14 days of free re-evaluation. You will NOT be automatically billed at the end of this period.

I note that you do not refute what I've said.  You cannot merely sign up for the trial and try it out. You must re-subscribe, and then cancel your account before the trial ends or they will bill you.

Its not semantics. Any mistake on my part leads to me being subscribed. It should be set up that IF i do not specifically choose to re-sub by the end of the trial my account is closed. Not that I must specifically close my account or I'll be billed.

It doesn't matter what the email says. I went to the site, clicked on the re-evaluation trial, signed in, accepted. However it still says my account is locked and the only option I have is to re-activate my account, select a billing cycle and provide a CC.

  • RaymondERaymondE Member Posts: 13

I reactivated my account without the need to select a billing cycle. When you sign on to your Funcom account there will be a link available that once clicked gives the option to resubscribe for a 20% discount but it is not necessary. The account will say cancelled but the 14 days will be added.

today i pvped with my 80 dt.. it was fun

soon found myself kinda like "okay.. its fun, but whats the point?"  I see theres pvp experience and so I'm assuming you get rewards for leveling?

So I decided to start a lvl 50 bear shaman.. pretty fun, killed some 50 sin that tried to gank me, then some group killed me later.. kinda stopped there.

i'll probably try summore tomarrow :)

Just when you think you have all the answers, I change the questions.

Well could be worse, I patched and now have 'account frozen'. I doubt I will get a support answer anytime soon.

    Funcom "Relaunches" Age of Conan

After a year of improving and adding on to the MMO, Funcom invites all Conan players back for two weeks of free play.

What I don't get is why they didn't wait till patch 1.6 to show us the endgame.

As of now I see everything I saw before, polished.  I got a better than avg comp so perfomance wasn't really an issue.

What should I be doing with my 80 dt?

Just when you think you have all the answers, I change the questions.

There is no place for melee in the game and that's stupid, but it's fun game if you don't play one, ranged does more damage and doesn't need to worry about long combos :)

I believe they are alts that have gotten all the same armor, funny though seeing that makes one realize how bad the class balance is - I have still hope for the game but seeing that melee is practically worthless nowadays is quite sad.

They're bringing lot of balance changes in the 1.05.3 patch which might change things to better but we will see, at least they're finally getting the needed improvements to Assassin feats and such so there might be still hope for the game.

Aww too bad. I will miss the re-evaluation due to vacation but I guess a lot of previous customers will appreciate the chosen period.

I think I will stick to my original plan and just resub for a month once the next 2 patches are out and ready. (Unless Aion is too good )

We dont need casuals in our games!!! Errm... Well we DO need casuals to fund and populate our games - But the games should be all about "hardcore" because: We dont need casuals in our games!!!
    (repeat ad infinitum)
