    FUCK YES!!!

    But other than that....

Anarchy Online 2 (in which the shadowlands were utterly obliterated by some psychotic NT with a multi-megaton nuke)

A Cyberpunk (R. Talsorian style) based game...rated either M or even AO, for drugs, nudity, and gratuitous dismemberment...

An updated and improved Pre-NGE SWG, where NO ONE could EVER unlock jedi, and SOE wasn't allowed to TOUCH it.

An Old Republic SW game done by Bioware ALONE, with a skill-based system, space combat (JTL style with guild-owned cap ships), and a wide-open sandbox galaxy to play in.

Neocron 3, made by a COMPETANT developer.

    ...really, I'm not asking much...

It is comforting to know that I am not alone.

Of course I have had 3 beers and a vodka, so that is comforting too :)

A Mech combat mmo with RPG elements, with the artistic drive and feel of a Mechwarrior with the customization of a armored core. Make 3 factions at war over the control of a planet or the whole galaxy. Imagine eve with mechs, maybe more than that. Some ideas include:

Have a guild that has a persistant level system that allows access to equipment and missions involving stealth, domination, and objectives in order to gain control of the planet or planets resources.

Make a class system for mechs like a BF game.

Fully customizable mechs ranging up from parts to ammunition and paint with play made decals.

Have guild leaders/officers base of operation be a huge ship with customizable interface and addons such as repair bays, docks, artillery, AH, and even have proffesions revolving around discovering sciences and technologies for you guild through maybe pvp elements. The ship being able to do command drops on hot spots.

True mecha feel where split second decisions and skill TRULY come to play. Examples such as weapons and limbs of your mech take damage and can be critically hurt to where you ,make the decision of getting in one more shot or purging the limb to prevent further damage and reducing payload (If your mech was built to carry large mounted flaks or missle bays that weigh it down) and wieght to move with more agility and speed.

True FPS HUD and possible a actual custom controller interface with many shiny buttons like that mecha game that came out for xbox.

This is just the tip of the iceberg, the ideas i have for something this large can go on for pages on end. In the end I want a FPS Mecha with RPG elements with fast, direct, and smooth combat situations. Have actual player driven content and word space as well as world domination with skirmishes taking place in cities, forests, and even the far reaches of space. Have a player driven economy where those who want to avoid PVP but still be usefull in a guild by researching upgrades to bolster thier allies and make money for necessary researching and upgrading. I want twitchy gameplay and the ability to have FULL control of the situation. I had a dream about all this, very vivid and realistic to the point i thought such a thing existed. If a  game like this could me made i could play it for the rest of my life.

Would love a Mospeada-based game with this kind of set-up...trying to survive on Earth during the Invid occupation, scrounging for technology and defending against the Invid and other human survivors.

Hell, have the third faction be a alien comp controlled AI and have the 2 other human factions fighting for survival.

Has anyone said Magic the Gathering yet? I'd love to see something based on it, I'm sure it could be done somehow, but I'm also sure that wotc would never allow it to happen because it would undercut their current business model...

My answer:  If I was to be on some random gaming news site and see a little article oh say about 100 words in length stating that there is a Legacy of Kain MMORPG I would just fall onto the ground foaming at the mouth screaming bloody murder then go grab my soul reaver and blood omen play station discs and rub them on my body.  But the MMORPG would have to be in the past before Raziel was thrown into the lake of the damned and became the soulreaver.  When the vampire clan's owned nosgoth and just did as they pleased.

A vampire vs demons/aliens vs human vs elder gods MMORPG where you get to select your vampire clan and serve kain.  So basically a better version of Age of Conan?  Not much to top there imo.  Anyways... Answerz me!  Oh oh wait we can call it Age of Kain.

I wonder what happend to the IP, I felt the game was visually ahead of it's time with many special effects, gameplay, story.

It also had some bad issue's like camera control was abit borked with the last chapter, but overall a great game and YES would love to see it as a MMORPG as it has more then enough lore to get it set up.

Just a week ago, I tried the demo of Zeno Clash, which I never heard of but the demo was fun/wierd/entertaining, the Zenozoik world is a great surreal world whci hwould be awesome for a  MMORPG. I also love the way combat is done and the facial expressions when fighting.

    the WAR40k MMO

they just have to make it the polar opposite of the WAR Online game by Mythic and it will be the best game ever

  • TyezBaylorumTyezBaylorum Member Posts: 18

Anything Not WoW and it will be amazing. How many carbon clone medieval type MMORPGs do we really need? This Genre has been overkilled way to much. Its horrible how grossly the same all of them are to one another. Other then the title of the game it's more or less all the same game. *sigh*

Couldn't agree more. UO is still the best MMO I've ever played. It does, however, suffer very bad from issues due to it's age. It's time for a reboot.

Picture UO, Pre-tram, with all the lessons learned since then, corrected, brought into a modern client, 3D or graphics.. Keep the geography exactly as is.. Keep custom housing, the crafting, and the highly customizable everything, from dyes to skills.. Now add city wars (Each city is it's own faction, instead of the current "Factions" system) and siege.  In a true 3D client? Yes please!

Its not only to be skill based. Its balance between PvP/ PvE and much more.

I think if you combined everything from say...

    Ultima Online 2

Ultima X: Odyssey (another cancelled UO sequel MMO)

    True Fantasy Live Online

    Final Fantasy XIV

    Zelda series

...and rolled it all together into a MMO designed from the ground up for the console (360/PS3) featuring full voice support built in, action packed combat similar to say Ocarina of Time/Majora's Mask/Wind Waker, skill based character progression ala Ultima Online, story driven questing with minimal grind via FF XIV, and a massive free-flowing world prime for exploration and sandbox style adventuring/community building ala UO2...

    Your opinion is immaterial.

/nerdgasm is a bit of an overstatement, but one game I would really love to see would be Monster Hunter Frontier Online in the 'West'. The annoying part is that it's been released in both Korea and Japan, but they haven't announced any plans for release in the 'West'.

A fully graphical, modern 3D, MMO version of Ancient Domains of Mystery or Dwarf Fortress.

Since that's not gonna happen.... Ever....

I guess I'd be pretty happy with a Rune Factory MMO.

Warhammer 40k MMO. made by bioware or THQ only, any other studio would totally ruin it.

A true sandbox version of Middle Earth set sometime in the past before the Trilogy, preferably the First Age. You could choose to be from any known race/culture except the Valar/Maiar. There would be chances the Valar would interact with you and initiate special events.

Deep crafting that included the usuals (blacksmithing, mining, woodworking, etc), but would also include mapmaking and translation. Crafting could be done solo or as a guild or group. Group crafting could create larger structures and monuments, even cities.

Open exploration that was rewarding. You could stumble across some weapon or resource that was valuable or could be repaired and used. No insta-travel, it would take time to travel from one end of ME to another. Traveling could be done by foot, horse, oliphaunt, small boat/canoe or ship on the open ocean.

No instanced housing, but you could only build your house in certain areas. You can buy/sell plots of land and houses/materials. Floorplans can be bought from the right crafters. Housing has freeform placement of items. Houses will decay after a while if no one maintains or lives in them.

It would include both PvE and PvP. PvE would include hunting for mats, exploring old keeps, caves and such. It would also include special events like defending against orc raids. Raids (large or small) could be put together to invade Morgoth's camps or some Elf lord's storehouses. There would be no size limit on raids. You could even put together a large force to attempt an attack on a fortress or keep. Open PvP out in the wilds and battlegrounds. Limited PvP in most other places. Housing and certain city areas would be safe havens.

This is getting long-winded, so I'll stop here. If a LotR-based game ever came out with these features, I'd be a very, very happy guy.

    Current: None
Played: WoW, CoX, SWG, LotRO, EVE, AoC, VG, CO, Ryzom, DF, WAR
Tried: Lineage2, Dofus, EQ2, CoS, FE, UO, Wurm, Wakfu
Future: The Repopulation, ArcheAge, Black Desert, EQN

Even better, a virtual reality .hack mmorpg like game. Why play a normal mmorpg, when in about 20-30 years, we will be gaming like in the anime?

Warhammer 40,000. I agree with those above me on who the devs and company should be (relic).

My suggestion is that the game be solely focused on the Hive World of Necromunda and flesh that sucker out as a primary setting, with players making Hive Gangers with an array of mutations, psychic powers, and technology being accessed based off of faction gang at first. The first installment of free content could involve induction into the Space Marines (or a Rogue Trader cartel), and paid expansions could follow introducing Eldar, Tau, and other playable races and classes along with expansive worlds to explore and adventure in.

Warhammer 40,000 is HUGE. Mind bogglingly HUGE. Keeping things simple and contained for initial release is the key, in my opinion.
