    UO2 all the way.

Although I wouldn't mind W40K, Planetside 2, Shadowrun, Mechwarrior, Forgotten Reams and Ravenloft MMOs.

I would really love to see a Fallout MMO but please no fps combat like Fallen Earth will have.

Also Star Wars Galaxies pre-cu server in working condition.

Finally, a Harry Potter type MMO would be awesome. It would be fun to experience hogwarts school as you age / lvl up. Then let us go out in the world and take up an occupation. Own a house, maybe a shop in diagon alley. Maybe take up the dark arts or become an aura and fight them. It would have to be a virtual world simulator and not be 100% focused on combat and raiding. and of course quiditch needs to be in there.

I just want MMORPGs to continue developing in the direction that they were going towards before they decided that certain MMORPG formulas must be copied in order to be $ucce$$ful.

For me, it depends very greatly on the team developing it. The most obvious choices today would be the current RPG juggernauts, BioWare and Bethesda. From BioWare: Mass Effect and Dragon Age MMOs once their trilogies are complete. From Bethesda: Elder Scrolls, of course, since someone else holds (and is exercising) the right to make a Fallout MMO.

What else, though? There are a lot of IPs I can imagine in MMO form, but for most of them, I can't think of a suitable development team.

Of those that I think do make good matches, though, one stands out as the dreamiest:

Shadowbane 2 by CCP. Yeah, you heard me. Buy the IP from UbiSoft's morgue, get Sam Johnson on as Lead Writer and Creative Director, and show us what the best dark fantasy setting ever can really be when able to spread its wings. I don't even like PvP very much, I just frickin' adore the world of Aerynth in all its oppressively dreadful beauty.

Saedron, shed khalad amb in Dar Khelegur! Khuinar anand in Alkuanath!

The only scenario I can imagine as maybe, possibly being better is CCP devising its own dark fantasy setting from scratch, but I imagine that being so much like Aerynth anyway that I'd rather they just make it theirs.

I'd think I'd get quite a nice nerdgasm of a Mount & Blade MMO..

Like.. The normal game, but without walking on the map..

Star Wars: The Old Republic is pretty much doing it for me. It is everything I have ever wanted in a video game, online or offline. It will be my one and only, when it comes out.

When we get back from where we are going, we will return to where we were. I know people there!

My answer:  If I was to be on some random gaming news site and see a little article oh say about 100 words in length stating that there is a Legacy of Kain MMORPG I would just fall onto the ground foaming at the mouth screaming bloody murder then go grab my soul reaver and blood omen play station discs and rub them on my body.  But the MMORPG would have to be in the past before Raziel was thrown into the lake of the damned and became the soulreaver.  When the vampire clan's owned nosgoth and just did as they pleased.

A vampire vs demons/aliens vs human vs elder gods MMORPG where you get to select your vampire clan and serve kain.  So basically a better version of Age of Conan?  Not much to top there imo.  Anyways... Answerz me!  Oh oh wait we can call it Age of Kain.

I enjoy the concept and the topic but announced games just simply can never get me too high (it's a defense mechanism) against the inept devs which outnumber the good ones about ten to one it seems in mmos, usually we find out a game is being developed years before it ever reaches alpha or beta so they can screw the pooch big time between visions dancing in our heads and us having to log in to play.  with that having been said now I do think I would love to play a Battletech/Mechwarrior game designed much like Eve was obviously only with mechs I think that game could/would rock also if someone took a realistic look at the lore of Transformers that could be a good mmo though I feel it may take quite some innovative thinking to make it work in not quite a shallow way.

but yeah, to call this game Fantastic is like calling Twilight the Godfather of vampire movies....

SWG pre cu-nge without the bugs and design mistakes ( like allowing to build at most places, but not in front of points of interest, dungeons, etc ), with more content, and with jump to lightspeed ofc.

For Jedi, the Holocron system ( giving you a direction what you are supposed to do to become Jedi ) and  keep perma death, your Jedi dies? Make a new one ... only 1 Jedi slot.

Allow 2 character slots, but limited to 1 faction.

I would make seperate skillpoint pools for combat and non-combat skills/professions.

And probably some more tweaks ...

But thats basically it for me :p

The Three Musketeers, based on the 2 Michael York / Rachel Welsh / Oliver Reed / Charleston Heston movies.

No levels, no rad raid gear, no +3 vorpal swords of bunny killing;  Just X number of skill points to start with, the clothes on your back and a trusty blade with all of Paris to run around in.  Side with the Cardinal, the Army, The Musketeers or be a Sword for Hire.

Become famous or infamous by fighting or running away from duels.  Run away too much and your honor drops.  Goes too low and you get kicked out of your faction and become a sword for hire.  Fight and win duels and you move up in the eyes of your faction ...... and the ladies.

Take missions from the King, Queen, Cardinel or Lady DeWinter.

No button mashing wack a sword combat either,  pick a style, spend your skill points for moves and then do some real sword fighting!  Upset cuz you're a max'd out power leveling grinder and some newbie with the stink of the farm still on him just handed you your head on a platter?  Get over it and learn to FIGHT!  And don't even think of ganking, you come to a duel with your buddies for a little 6 on 1 action, you may win the fight but your honor heads for the toilet, same as your friends.

Dueling, bar room fights and seducing women, what more could you want? :) LOL!

    SWG (pre-cu) - AoC (pre-f2p) - PotBS (pre-boarder) - DDO - LotRO (pre-f2p) - STO (pre-f2p) - GnH (beta tester) - SWTOR - Neverwinter

Well I'd say that the lvl mmo's are right now not one of them would even tickle my balls ...

I think true mmo revolution will begin when new ps3 controller is implemented in a game (youtube if u don't know what

    I'm talking about).

Arena where It doesn't matter if u just logged in game or playing the game for months cause all that matters is you and your skill in real world ( the death of mmo 24/7 nerdfreaks )

A mmo where your real life skills matter ..... U wouldn't have to earn exp in game but practise and think up  your own moves at home  ( imagine taking a stick and hitting a  tree or ur litlle brother so u get stronger and faster so ur able to beat ur rival in arena.......

Hahaha, which is why I said base it on the 2 movies.  OK for her sake we'll leave the seductions out.

Although I'm confused; it'll be OK if you did it in RL but not a MMO?   That's one understanding wife you got.  I bow down to your total command of the situation.

I'd have to say my top choices would be:

    1. Shadowrun Online
    2. Morrowind Online
    3. Trials of Ascension to be finished/released (production was suspended indefinately due to funding)
    4. Cypberpunk

I put Morrowind Online instead of Oblivion since Morrowind was a more expansive game world and had less of the hand-holding features (like pointing you in the direction of your destination for quests).  If Shadowrun were to be developed for an online MMO (properly) I'd probably lose it entirely.

I'm really happy to see an intrest from others in the World of Darkness. If it is ever released I hope it has at least 300K players and last for more than a couple of years.

    Galaxy of Starcraft.

    Imagine a FPS/RTS/MMORPG.

Three Factions Terrans Zerg and Protoss.

Experinced guild leaders and raid organizers taking the lead as RTS managers building bases staking claims to resources. mind you it's slow (anyone ever build a base in 10six?). But rewarding actual players using the facilities you build for them. Jump from planet to planet building and managing.

Raid Leaders taking the roll of plantside type commanders... taking control of air assets ground troops tanks and transports whome of which are all controlled by regular players. Giving orders though a vent like system. with organized clans. Special coloring and logos the whole bit.

Like to FPS it up.. Get you chain gun and Marine Armor on ... Like flying sims get your a transport or plane and fight or navagate around protoss and zerg air units. Like to race or tank battle.. well it has that too. (racing your buggy from a charging ultralisk counts as racing right?).

An experince system much like world of warcraft/plantside Have talents perks and unlockable weapons with appropriate experience. Can be good as somethings but not good at all. You can reset and change your abilities with a small cost or penalty. Zerg You Evolve can take more shapes and different rolls. With Protoss it's a little of both worlds.

You have your side... any strategy goes.. you have your assets... your player base. one side per server and realtively even number of players on each side.

YOU CAN WIN your side can have ultimate victory you can lose your empire it can crumble but your experince for the eventual world reset remains as well as any friends/enemies you made.

    OMG

/NERDGASM'S OVER THE TWO POSTERS ABOVE AND BELOW HIM

You should keep an eye on World of Darkness from CCP.  Shadowrun MMO announcement would make me lose it.  I'd run around my office tackling people in joy before ripping off my shirt and leaping through a window to start running home and hitting F5 on the games website until it released.

Freaking Awesome Glad to hear that I am not the only one.

A steampunk/fantasy hybred would be wicked.  But. . . Shadowrun FTW!
