These people are getting more and more unruly every day. Instead of talking it out like big boys, they resort to screaming their asses off so people cannot respond, threats, and violence.
From Union Thugs Picking Fights
To death threats - Another Example
To Conservative Screamers bringing guns. - Another Example - the second example it is legal as long as you check it with police, but bringing guns into these heated arguments is a recipe for disaster.
How far is it going to go? In my opinion it's only a matter of time until something ugly happens. With tensions the way they are, one spark could ignite something a lot bigger. There are groups out there willing to go to war with the government if they don't get what they want. The most un-American thing I can think of is to go to war with your own government. A government that you are a part of, you have a voice in, and you have influence over. If you cannot get what you want through responsible debate and education, your point probably isn't in the best interest of Americans. If it was, they would see that and vote accordingly.
Rush Limbaugh needs to shut his fat face, and stop encouraging this stuff. And members from the liberal side, my side, need to realize that not everyone against health care is a raving lunatic looking for a fight, and that we should listen. Extremism from both sides is only going to hurt us.
John Mccain had this to say on his twitter: "Town hall meetings are an American tradition - we should allow everyone to express their views without disruption - even if we disagree!"
He's been around for awhile, I'm sure he knows what he's talking about. Listen to him.

McCain should do as his daughter **and mother** are and openly denounce Limbaugh's nutty rants. Still, these style "protest" have been around for quite some time, just now they seem to have switched sides.
The wet dream of all these nuts over on the Hannity forums and elsewhere is a new Civil War. They love to talk about how they are sure their National Guard would refuse to fire on people from their own state. Can we say "Living in the Past"?
The truth of the matter is that this really is nothing more than a wet dream. Most of these nuts are way up there in age, and the younger ones are either so crazy they'll turn people off, or they are so cowardly they'd wet themselves before coming out from behind their computers.
Will one of these fanatics pull a gun on a townhall or try to shoot a representative? Possibly. But even if they try, and even if they manage to wound or kill a member of congress without any one else getting shot in the process, this would act as more of a setback to the Conservative movement than anything else prior.
If this were to take place I would just hope that the blowback on some of the worst agitators would be enough to put an end to this crap
See any conflict there?
I'm just amazed how these politician really think that these Townyellers represent some large segment of society. I don't think this will get much uglier.
Right now, its just people who don't really have anything else to do in their lives and that's why they go to these things. You could look at the Arlen Specter townyellers and see that. It was all retired people, unemployed, bored housewives and some clearly mentally unbalanced types mixed in. Those halls only hold several hundred people at maximum, so the majority of people with lives were working and the ones who were like these townyellers filled the joint. That makes them seem larger than they actually are.
The media and a few others keep mistakenly thinking that there is somehow a viable opposition at these things. Most people with any sense (whether they agree with the plan or not) simply don't go to these things because they think something violent would happen.
That's why most of the people who REALLY want to know about the plan aren't going to these events; because they are scared that just one of these rabid townyellers will be a Holocaust museum shooter type nutjob or something, and just shoot anyone that disagrees.
"TO MICHAEL!"
A lot of bored housewives, retired misinformed elderly, and unemployed conspiracy theorists with little to do all day. This is the bulk of these people. Seriously, who takes off of work to go to townhall meetings?
The media is taking the bait here hook, line and sinker and treating these people as if this is a large portion of the country. Media unfortunately always focuses on the wrong thing.
One old nutjob stood up in the Arlen Specter townhall and started blaming the Koran, LOL! These people have egg yolks for brains and tend to mix everything all up in one big, giant omelet.
"TO MICHAEL!"
I actually think it'll start getting better, not worse. As more of the misinformation is disproven, and people start to accept what is ACTUALLY being proposed, tensions (over this issue) will simmer down.
I think most of it is general political outrage, not just health care reform outrage. Conservatives are pissed that Obama won. Well, actually, conservatives are pissed about a lot of things, justifiably. Maybe they celebrated the historic nature of the election, enjoyed the "kum ba yah" atmosphere we had for a few weeks, but now they are back to partisan bickering and intellectual forfeiture to Fox News. Several of their representatives have been in, let's say, less than flattering situations. So, when conservatives say things like "the America that I love" or "my America", they aren't just talking about liberal policies, a Hispanic Justice, or an African-American president. They are also talking about their good, christian-conservative, representatives being cloaked in scandalous activities. Let's not forget that they also have gracious few representatives to be proud of. Democrats had the "do-nothing" congress, now republicans have the "willing to say anything, no matter how batshit crazy" congress.
The economy is showing signs of recovery. We still have an auto manufacturer and several financial institutions under direct government oversight. All the "socialist" attacks will subside after we get them back on their own. Okay, let's be honest, only SOME of the "socialist" attacks will subside. The socialist angle seems to play well to the cukoo right, so a certain element of it will persist (just like the birthers). Give it a little time, most people will settle back into a self-absorbed state of mass consumption.
We nearly had a total economic collapse. That requires a period of hyper-tension, I believe. Kinda like when you have a car crash; when the dust settles your primary concern is safety. Then, later on, you can look back and go "JESUS! THAT WAS A CLOSE ONE!", and mourn the loss of your automobile. I think that's what's happening right now. We are starting to see the light through the trees and beginning to question how we got so deep in the woods. People want to know how America, "the America that we love" - "our America", could ever be so fragile. It's Obama's responsibility to answer those questions. These are answers that many, particularly conservatives, don't want to hear. If they resist the answers, you can bet they will resist the solutions.

Prove, with actualnumbers, taht the "bulk of these people" are bored housewives, retired misinformed elderly, and unemployed conspiracy theorists.
By the way, I am as against their yelling tactics as I was the same tactics being used by the left, although they had MUCH smaller numbers, during the Bush years.

Nope, he is encouraging the yelling , screaming, and not letting others voice their opinion. You lose priveledges when you infringe on someone elses.
The Official God FAQ
As Mark Levin said...if, God forbid, anything bad happens at one of these townhalls, the blame falls fully on the president for fanning the flames. (paraphrasing)
Name one president in your lifetime that has tried to purposly inflame people like this irresponsible president has.

I think you want Rush to shut up because you disagree with his politics. Which is no different than the town hall people trying to shout down people that disagree with them.
Rush has a right to tell people it's good to shout at town halls, just like you have a right to say that's idiotic and should stop.
To seriously support free speech is to support allowing you both to express your opinions.
How is Rush infringing on anyone else? He's not.
Don't get me wrong, it's rare I agree with anything that comes out of Rush's mouth, but I do support his right to express his opinion, like I support your right to express yours.
The people shouting at the Town Halls should be arrested for disorderly conduct, and fined.
A few dozen tazered armed police officers should do the trick.
I seen this new one that can be fired multiple times.

I don't listen to Rush's show, so I don't know. If Limbaugh is enouraging this, it should be easy to find clips where he doing so. Evidence?

When your government has to hire people off Craigslist to go to these meetings...your agenda has failed.
Make social change - Help Pass Obama's Health Care Reform!!!
And the Union thugs
http://sacramento.craigslist.org/etc/ these adds are all over the nation.
When people get upset about one thing they have the tendency to get upset about other things as well. This has just begun.

All you need to know about healthcare and who really wants it for Americans is this:
Everytime the Republicans have either held the presidency or held Congress, they have NEVER introduced a measure to streamline or propose a plan to help cover Americans with health insurance. Ever. No Republican has ever submitted even a bill that asks for a national healthcare policy of any type where Americans can get covered.
Everytime a major healthcare plan in America has been introduced to the American people in this century, it was always done by a Democrat. From Social Security with FDR, to Clinton's plan, to Obama's plan. Every president that has shown even the slightest interest in keeping Americans with some type of BASIC healthcare rights in this nation since inception has been a "liberal". Think about that. The only party that really pushed for Americans to be covered was Democrats.
Reagan, Both Bushes, Ford, Nixon, etc etc etc... have no shown no interest in getting Americans national health coverage. They shoot it down when they aren't in power, and when they ARE in power, they don't work on it at all, because they have nothing to gain and everything to lose (insurance lobby money)
So the next time you hear a Republican say "Yeah, we want healthcare for all Americans, just not the kind the liberals are proposing", ask them about their record and what they've written or supported as an alternative. Ask them what kind of healthcare for Americans do they they they should get. All they'll say is "no", period.
You'll find they have never had any plans because it wasn't in the best interest of the insurance companies most Republicans get support from.
"TO MICHAEL!"
Where in the constitution is it stated that it is the Federal Government's job to take tax money from some Americans to pay for the health care of other Americans?
If you believe in our form of government, the only reasonable response to federal Government Health Care is "no."

Just one question who do you fear more the insurance company's or the Government.

Note how easy it is to calm these people down. Specter just held a hearing, and people were visibly upset. This time he wasn't a dummy: he treated his constituents with respect, he listened, said nothing stupid, and the meeting went very well.
If the rest of them do this, things will go better.

I think you should warn people first, but after they refuse to comply, sure tazer them.
You've got the right to express your opinion, not the right to disrupt a meeting. If you don't want to be tazered, then act civilized.

Yes he did, because the fact that people are starting to wake up and read the constitution is blowing ALL their minds. However, he was decent, respectful, and made quite a few promises that I hope he keeps.
Now, I wish people had read the constitution back when Roosevelt was in office, because that is when the game changed, but better late than never, I guess.

I'm pretty sure the Founders intended we burn fossil fuels to warm the Earth, and that we kick ass in Iraq.
Can you prove I'm wrong?
No wait, the Founders wanted a cold earth and thought that Ethanol would help cool the earth, and that we should allow Al Qaeda to rule the ME because that would only be fair.
Can you provbe I'm wrong?
The Founders also supported abortion and genetically modified foods, or at least I'm sure they would if we returned to their principles.
See what a wonderful circle that is? These people believe their rights are being infringed upon by not being heard and the other side believes their rights are being infringed upon because these people are yelling and not allowing them to speak.
There is a right to free speech, not a right to free speech until you infringe on others right to free speech. The other group just needs to learn to speak louder.
It could be shown, by this "infringement logic", that all of you who despise these people (who are simple voicing their opinions) are infringing on their rights. You call them names, degrade them and demonize them, but, according to your "infringement logic", that is not guaranteed protection under free speech. You classify it as hate speech.
