Dare anyone to name a game that everyone can agree was good.

A little experiment I want to conduct...I believe that there isn't a game out there that everyone can unanimously agree that was good or half way decent with out some player claiming that it sucked.

Yeah that came to mind to me aswell as the one and only true game that everyone agreed was good, I mean there was nothing else at the time.

Think pacman/donkeykong might come in 2end and 3rd place, after that, choices became plenty and people where able to find there niche in gaming.

I do not recall any online game or MMORPG to be agreed upon by everyone as being good, Meridian59 was fun, UO was fun but many really disliked the games even back then aswell. Mainly because at the time we where seen as nerds, while I most definitly do not fit the visual discription of nerd, pure by playing online games people looked that way towards us who played those games.

The stipulation should be if you didn't play the game around the time it was released you shouldn't comment on it.

My list(some will seem archaic if you didn't play them in the 80's or early 90's)

Pool of Radiance, Curse of the Azure Bonds, Pools of Darkness, Gateway to a Savage Frontier(and the sequel which I can't remember the name), Champions of Krynn, NWN, Icewind Dale I and II, Fallout 1 and 2, Dawn of War, Age of Empires, Super Mario World, Final Fantasy 1-9, Dragon Warrior 1-3, Secret of Mana, Chrono Trigger, KOTOR.

The only MMO I will list is DAOC. Even that I think will have people that didn't like it.

Surely, out of those games one of them everyone can agree on.

I don't think that anyone can agree that there is a game in history will ever be good - you take any subject and there is not one thing that anyone will ever be able to agree on .  This is why we have some many different markets and genres - personal opinions will always counter someone.  It might be out of spite but there will always be a negative to your plus it is how we are all designed.  My 2 cents on it is Asheron's Call had the best content and gameplay that will ever encompass what I've always wanted and still do.  Is it a game that you liked? maybe not but in the end what does that matter? As long as you enjoy the time you are spending "getting away."  Relax and enjoy the ride.

I'll list off a few that you would be at the least hard pressed to find people that didn't like:

    Final Fantasy 7

    Baldur's Gate 2

    Starcraft

    Diablo 2
