I have a few that I think almost everyone would agree on. Age Of Empires 2, Rome or Medievel 2 total war. Going back a little further The all time classics Pac Man and Donkey Kong with some Space invaders thrown in for good measure.
Most fun I've ever had in a multiplayer game was Quake 1 Deathmatch and Carmageddon 1. Quake 1 was simply 100% perfect from the beginning. Can't think of one single flaw there. I wonder if a developer will ever be able to pull something like that off again. Carmageddon 1 was just hilarious and insanely fun to play.
For single player games Civilization and Transport Tycoon Deluxe are way up there. Fantastic games.
Dunno if anyone remembers Flimbo's Quest on C64. That was a great game too.
A little experiment I want to conduct...I believe that there isn't a game out there that everyone can unanimously agree that was good or half way decent with out some player claiming that it sucked.
Since we are on the MMORPG forum i believe that talking about single player games is off.
Vanilla WoW was perfect. At least until you reached Molten Core, but since it was only 1% of the game, the other 99% were ensetially flawless, making the game close to perfect.
My addiction History: >> EQ1 2000-2004 - Shaman/Bard/Wizard/Monk - nolife raid-whore >> WoW 2004-2009 + Cataclysm for 2 months - hardcore casual >> Current status : done with MMO, too old for that crap.

lol GL getting everyone to agree with that.
If you are insisting this thread just be about mmorpgs then you kind have buried it from out of the gate... Getting more then 3 people to share an opinion on these boards is like herding cats.
I just finished playing through it again (yay for Steam), and it holds up well for being 16 years old. Instant classic. THE only game I find myself going back to over and over.

Dune II...by Westwood Studios...I think it was Westwood.
Getting old is mandatory...growing up is optional.
Civilization.
Of course, Pong, Qbert, and Pole Position are all deserving of a mention as well.
Nice one...I think I just bust a rib laughing at that one

The game of love man. The game of love.
If you were around at the time everyone loved Mario Bros, it opened up video games to the masses sorta the same way WoW has done with MMO's.
Chick or Dude if you were born in the '70s or early '80s you liked Mario Bros.
finally i found a thread worth posting.
imho, maybe only Old Gamers may agree here, but North & South was a great game everyone loved to play back in 1989+ ^^
There are so many great games out there.... i remember the release of Bomberman or Street Fighter... that kinda rocked.
MMO-wise its hard to say, but i think Ultima Online and Star Wars Galaxies did a good job for me and many comrades.
