My all time best forever! Final Fantasy 7 and Shenmue.

Other. Xenogears, the first Fatal Frame, Capcom RE-DC, RE2, the first Silent Hill, cant forget Zelda Link to the past,  GTA 3 and

Kengo for the play station. This samurai game took true skills to master, a great game.

There is nothing that everyone is going to like. be it cars, food, movies, etc. No matter how good something is, someone will not like it. No matter how bad something is, someone will like it. That's life.

Ocarina of Time, yes. I dont know how anyone who played it could say it wasnt/isnt a good game.

Ocarina of time was decent. I never cared for a single zelda game after it went 3d though. Ugh the freaken water temple was probably the worse part of that game.

the games that I hold dear to me are very niche it seems so probably a lot of people would disagree with me.

Homeworld 1 - 2 the greatest RTS' ever IMO

    .Hack//series for JRPG

Armored Core series for overall favorite.

An old school console game seems the best chance.

But no mater what, some KEWL DEWD will come in here and say any game that most people agree on sucks badly, just because he is that kewl dewd. And lord knows there are a lot of them on this forum.

Contra, Bubble Bobble, Goldeneye 64, Perfect Dark, Chronotrigger, Mike Tyson Punch Out.

  • VirgoThreeVirgoThree Member UncommonPosts: 1,198

Pong is for no lifer nerds! Paddle ball is where all the action is at! lol jk.

Swanea you have a pretty good list that I'd agree are good games.

for me and most, if not all, of my peers at the time... the following games were favorites:

Super Mario Brothers 2 for NES

    Speedball II for Amiga 500

    Civilization

    Masters of Magic

Quake 1 (Deathmatch Multiplayer LAN mode)

Of course, we were all pretty much geeks back in ye olde 80s and 90s and probably didnt socialize as much with 'normal' folks as we should have :P

So I am sure someone will disagree with our choices of games, but none the less, those games hold dear memories in my opinion :)

To the Original Poster, Thanks for the thread, great topic and a good initiative on your part! Thanks :)

Most of you seemed to miss the point and list games that you liked. However, I agree with the OP that there isn't a game that everyone can agree upon. Therefore, this is a pointless exercise.

Ah Torment, there was a classic indeed.

Possibly the greatest nemesis in video game history...your own mortality aided and abetted by your own previous incarnations.

Well, personally I listed games not only that I liked, but that I know are highly regarded by many other people as well.

This exercise is only pointless if you look at it a certain way. No, there is no game which will receive a perfect 10 from every gamer. However, there are some games which hardly anyone could (in honesty) call anything less than "pretty good," even if they have some nitpicks with it or it's not to their personal taste.

Also, please allow me to congratulate you for arrogantly dictating to the forum. It's always helpful when some random toolbox lets you know you're doing it wrong.

Well, there is a forum for other games. Maybe he accidentally posted in the wrong section?

Good call spamming the thread! That's a mature, constructive approach and will help the OP to remember next time.

    Armored Core.

And the I-War Series on PC.

Actually, now that I think of it either of those could probably make a kick arse MMO in the right hands.

I wonder how the Flux engine would cope converted to an MMO engine?

Sadly, ATARI now own the rights to I-War.

Nothing says irony like spelling ideot wrong.
