Yeah anyway, point taken, EvE is tough and difficult for new players and all that... but the tax will hardly hit new players at all. You pretty much have to be doing level 3 missions or higher for the tax to be noticeable. By which point the training wheels should be ready to come off.
And even if they're not, like I said: EvE Uni. Agony Unleashed.

As for the tax -- others are right about it.  New players won't really care.  Some startup chars that learn about corporate taxes will see 11% and may go join PC corporations with lower taxes than that to "save a bit" and it may actually help push taxes down in some corporations interested in growing to try and attract new members -- "we charge less than you're paying and you get services for the taxes!!!"

The ones that are screaming about it are senior players who, as some point out, "hide alts" in the NPC corporations and those folks...  Sorry but I really don't have much sympathy for someone "saving pennies" into their multi-billion ISK stashes.  They'll either go into other corporations or mutter and go along with it.  I don't see any mass exodus from the NPC corps into PC corporations nor any real exodus from the game due to 11% taxes on the NPC corporations.

Which just means that within the next 6 months you'll probably stay there, and never take the slightest risk of joining a real corp. You'll still be flinging missiles at npcs, if you haven't quit already.

Create a stash of mission running / mining ships in some empire station and go take your time to find a corp that suits you somewhere. With a backup plan, whatever happens to you will be an experience, and recovering from it will be easy.

You just have to take a few risks, which is what eve is all about.

On topic on the npc corp tax.. FINALLY. This will put a good dent into people who are just in the for risk-less isk and don't loot their missions, e.g. rmt farmers without affecting newbies at all. (since their mission rewards are too low to be taxed)

Most of the losers on these postings feel obligated to force players to play the video game like them. I'm sorry, but if you feel like you have some virtual authority over a person who decides to stick with an NPC corporation then please take a break from the game or at least realize why it's called a 'game' in the first place. If you're able to pay for a subscription of a MMO, then you shouldn't need to be lectured on why this is (unless you ofcourse, use your mom's credit card).

Changing a game mechanic in such a dramatic way in my opinion, is not the way to do it. If you really want players out of NPC corporations then do it by improving the benefits of joining a player owned corporation. Taking away or punishing players is never going to satisfy both sides that are affected by this update. This is why when you 'nerf' player's skills, you should instead either buff all players to that purposed nerf or nerf them all at once, however at different significance. Communities will complain less if they all sit in the same basket.

P.S. I'm all for taxing all player corporations the same as the NPC ones.

I agree 100%. It is an invariable rule of EvE that when you see a spate of posts about "This will drive new players away", they they are always made by old players concerned purely for their own interests. It is the EvE equivalent of "Wont somebody PLEASE think of the children!!!".

i dont want to talk about if is lame or not

eve is not made to be fair and you know that

Then you should be against this change, since this is being done to make it "fair" to PC corps...

If Eve was not made to be fair, then this change should not go through.

This made me laugh. "Real fights" in Eve are 99% ganks. "Some friends and I ganked a hulk passing through a gate!" "Some friends and I killed a newbie in a rifter at a gate!" "Some friends and I totally wtfpwned a newbie in an indy!" "We ran away when a bigger blob came to kill us!"

    Real fights, those...

I love the idea. 11% is not really gonna hurt anyone's income by any substantial means. Will get people ready for when they wanna join a corp or may even just irk the real money traders a little. Either way its a good idea.
