Oh, but limiting things to 4 characters increases character interdependance. And stuff.
Also, we are really cheap(and not terrible bright) so we reused SWG's database set up, and Oracle tends to be a flaming pile of pooh, so we can't have much going on or the database craps out. Oh, and it's not lag, it's the new bullet time effect we stole^H^H^H^H^H came up with. It's A Feature!(tm) Everything else is working as intended.

I couldn't help but take one potshot at EQ2, even if it is sort of like beating up the crippled kid in Jr High.
Even if they don't let you cancel your pre-order, you can always buy it and return it unopened. As long as you don't open it, most stores have no problem giving a refund. I think 4 slots are not enough, I like to try all of the classes out to see which ones I like. Hearing this makes me not want to buy the game.
As stated before, I paid for 3 monthly accts for 14 months with SWG. If I have anyone to blame, it's myself for paying the entire time, wised up around 6 weeks ago. Holy cow there is way too much ado about nothing in here! 4 is 3 more than what they gave in their past release...
i dunno, 4 slots seems fine to me. but thats just my opinion. i usually only play 1 character and maybe ill make an alt after playing for a few months.
by the way the grind is on EQ2, its gonna take a long time to hit the top with even 1 toon.

4 slots is not ok with me. I have decided not to purchase EQ2 becuase of just 4 slots. I had about 20 characters in DAoC that I bounced between, EQ I had about 10, SWG I had one on every server...to me veriaty is necasery...enough to decide not to buy the game.
I've been fighting this since it was mentioned in the first place. Aside from that moorgard one liner there has been NO feedback whatsoever from SOE on this.
They've locked the 40page thread I started and well over 100 pages of other threds on this topic, The final thread in the beta forums has been locked and its apparent that they do not want us to talk about it anymore.
The only thing keeping me playing this game at this point is the fact that I lead a guild and they are depending on me for guidance at release. At this rate EQ2 will just be another 'time filler' game untill the next big one comes out, I was really hoping it would be the next big thing for me, but based on previous experience with SOE and how they have handled this situation, I refuse to continue to go back to the abusive spouse that is SOE. Too bad WoW sucks too, guess I gotta wait for Vanguard.
Yeah I can see how 4 character slot would make or break a game. They should make it 50 slots per char so you can be a newbie at all class/race combinations. Then players could post of the forums I have 40 characters under level 10 and 10 others that I powerleveled up to 15.
I would check for other games to see how many character slots they let you have. I am sure its the top feature they are advertising.

That pretty much settles it for me, 2 years ago they showed promise, they wont screw us again liek they did with their other games! they care this time, production will come before profit! So I thought. The last 6 months have been one let down after another, one profit whoring act after another, and one 'classic SOE' act after another.
This is undoubtedly profit driven, can i blame them?.. Nope, they are a company, but there is a certain amount of balance you need to commit to between 'making money' and 'taking a big chunky dump on your customers'.
I bought the game, it will be the last SOE product I buy, the only reason I'm going in is because I have a guild depending on me to lead them in. I just hope a non sony game comes out before the first EQ2 expansion or I'll be left behind while I wait for another game to come out.
Didn't advise you? They sent out an e-mail to all Beta testers, and Moorgard explained why fan sites knew about the "coming down" first, and apologized to us and took the blame for the leak. Which I am most certain it's why they changed the date to 12 hours later, it was originally set for 12AM not 12PM.

I'm not sure if 4 slots is the release target. I would probably cancel my pre-order (if that's even possible now) if I hear it's a final decision.
May be why they are quiet on "official" channels.
