    Someone hasn't played the game.

I did and even tried to like it, I had friends playing as well wich was the only thing that made the experience bare-able. What part of Aions story is not an under-develop excuse to have angels fight each other? what part of Aions combat is not face rolling at it's worse?

The part you never got high enough to try. I love people who quit after 1 week of gameplay and think they can tell everyone else what the game is like. Just because you suck at it doesn't mean the game sucks, maybe its just you.

1 Sec I played all beta and got to level 26 in release(even with queue's).

How far should I get before I do not "Suck"?

Maybe just another reason to leave this game behind, since release the community went to the gutter(quoted poster a good example)

Yes it up's the QUEST xp but not until; the later level 30's and the chance's of that even hitting here this year are very slim,.

I appreciate all the facts and links you provided. Thank you

Its already on the test server (along with SM flying pets) - IMO it'll be here sooner than later (see what I did there?)

Furthermore, you are 100% correct. It IS post level 30.... but, isn't that where the so-called problem is? Most everyone is already level 30 unless they are rolling alts, etc. Level 30 is really not that hard, majority of the people I know and in my guild are that level and no they're not all hardcore 24/7 players... so yes, while its true this only affects lvl 30 - this is where the slow xp is so it only makes the most sense to address that.

Thank you but I have to ask 1 question,if this trail patch does pass in the east and then they translate it to the west and all goes well and it hits early next year..what good does it do to the player's struggling now?

I am trying to make sure this is still on topic,as we seem to be going off topic now.

It is ok to say maybe in 5 months there will be more quest's to get to top level in 2 weeks, now I do not see it and even in the near future I do not see it,it is ok saying"hey this patch is coming"..I have to ask though what does that have to do with the topic thread?

    Absolutely nothing...

You can make all the excuses you want, most people predicted a month before anyone would reach max... because of the so-called "grind". Now there's people at 50 and out come the excuses. No one cares to listen to anything - so why are we arguing? If you don't like Aion and dont want to play, then that's totally fine. I can see why its not for everyone.... but don't make it sound like there'll only be a dozen 50's by Christmas... most ppl will be max level in 2 or 2 1/2  months... and Ill ask again (patch or no patch) what's so wrong with that?

Edit: and by most ppl I mean those who play semi-casual... 20 hour a week range....

Sorry it seem's you are arguing just for the sake of it.

We agree that most players will be level capped before the xp patch hits but you still try to use it against me?

Back on topic - I was shocked a Chanter was one of the 2 first... but, they are pretty crazy from what I've seen.

I have played enough MMORPGs to be able to gaudge what it's gonna be like at higher levels (no MMO is that diffrent realy this is just an excuse you give yourself to be elitist), I looked up the new skills I would have gotten, most of them are on 15-30second cooldown and are part of a combo chain that will make me press the same button one more time every X second, WOOT thats much deeper.

I realy love your mentality, You haven't seen the end-game so you dont know nothing? is there realy an excuse for a game to be boring at any point? is there realy a reason that I should play a game for hundreds of hours with my brain switched off just so I can reach the content that *might* make me turn it back on?

Well, sine you decided to quote me as an example of the 'community went to the gutter' lets find out how your logic works here shall we? You say this game has an under-developed story line, which either comes from your inability to actually read, or you didn't bother to in the first place. My guess is you spent all your time grinding mobs instead of actually TRYING to find any flavor in the game whatsoever. After which you have come on here and made multiple post about how Aion is a grind fest (not the game, the way YOU chose to play it.)

After that, you state the games combat system is face rolling at its 'worse' (great tense of the word by the way). Which by your own definition would mean it requires no skill and/or attention span to play the character (again, the way you play, not the way the game is designed). There is a large complexity built into the combat system in this game, just because you are either not smart enough to understand it, or you don't care to even try to. Either way, the fault again does not lay with the game, but with your ability to play it to its fullest potential.

And to answer your question of 'How far should I get before I do not "Suck"?' well the level really doesn't matter now does it, some people can learn a new games combat system and learn to use it to its fullest potential, and others, like you, never do. Some people will always suck - even at max level.

You stated yourself that you had to 'try to like' this game, which means you, had already decided from the start that you didn't. No amount of logic in either direction is going to sway the presumptive opinion of someone like you. You decided the games faults before hand, and played the game with those faults already programmed into your view. To which I say, again, your fault not the games. Perhaps instead of languishing on the forums of a game you never wanted to like in the first place you should instead find a game you will like. Nobody here really cares what your biased and prejudice opinion is on a game you want nothing to do with.

Oh and last but not least, the community of this game didnt' go to the gutter, people like you, uninformed, biased, and prejudiced have been spinning your troll trash for weeks now trying to make everyone believe you actually know what your talking about. And the community, is quite frankly getting tired of it. I'm not personally sure exaclty how many times the community has told people like you that its ok for you to just walk away if you dont' like this game. I'm also not sure how many more time the community will have to say that again before you get the hint.

My mentality is simple, any person who judges something they do not know anythign about, prior to knowing it, is by definition biased and prejudice. Anyone who judges an entire game based off thier ONE week of play time and what they percieve to be 'how' things will work (in thier head - not in actual pracitce) is at best a closed minded fool.

You actually think that this games combat system is all about hitting the one button to finish the chain sequence???? Wow, you really have no idea how the game works at all do you. Please, by all means, dont play this game again. If your not smart enough to figure out the complexity of the system on your own, I'm not going to spend my time to explain it to you. It would most likely be a waste of effort, some just can't be taught.

First I did not say that the other one did, My reply to you is higher up go look it up. Nope I have not read everything, it was laughable cliched and after a while I just couldnt even try to care. I tried to find flavor in it, I've said it before I wanted to like this game because for the first time in a while I got to play with most of my RL friends. (most of wich have left already now)
After that, you state the games combat system is face rolling at its 'worse' (great tense of the word by the way). Which by your own definition would mean it requires no skill and/or attention span to play the character (again, the way you play, not the way the game is designed). go read my original post because you got the wrong one quoted for this, and even if I wanted to pay attention there's no point in it even in a group the game plays itself, and don't kid yourself there's nothing complex in this game. Unless you're to dumb to figure out that when one skill is on cool-down you press the other one next to it.
And to answer your question of 'How far should I get before I do not "Suck"?' well the level really doesn't matter now does it, some people can learn a new games combat system and learn to use it to its fullest potential, and others, like you, never do. I didn't write this but I still disagree with you, there's no hidden potential it's all very clear and very easy.
You stated yourself that you had to 'try to like' this game, which means you, had already decided from the start that you didn't. Oh no If I had any idea the game was going to be this mindless I wouldn't have bought it, at first I was quite happy to costumise my characters estetic and such, then I did my first quest and then my next and so on, at some point I found it boring but then I tried to tell myself this will change in a few level you'll get more skills, turns out I was wrong even with more skills its very restrictive and there's always a clear path to follow in combat.
Oh and last but not least, the community of this game didnt' go to the gutter, people like you, uninformed, biased, and prejudiced have been spinning your troll trash for weeks now trying to make everyone believe you actually know what your talking about. Didn't say anything about the community, after playing WoW I though I could live with everything, and FYI I'm on a forum posting about my opinion just as much as you are.

Sad thing is, the "end game" and "how quickly you get there" has become "the main focus" for MMOs to many players.

That's the disconnect, I think, with people who may be new to the genre... To them, the older MMOs were "too slow" and you "couldn't get to end-game fast enough".

The thing is, the thinking and playstyle of most players back then was also very different... Many weren't *trying* to race to end game. Things only seem to take "too long" when you're in a hurry... and many weren't. They were simply enjoying themselves in the game world, questing, exploring, PvP'ing... having a good time... enjoying the journey. Level cap was some far off thing you'd reach... eventually, while having a lot of fun in the meantime. I fall squarely in that camp.

I'm waiting to see if the genre eventually goes full circle and people start to realize that there should be more to a MMO than what happens at end-game.. that the rest of the game matters, too. Unfortunately, many developers have already fallen into the routine of developing what they believe the players want.. which at this time is a MMO with a very short xp curve to level cap. I'd love to see it come back around to MMOs becoming "worlds" again, and not merely "games" to play through and move on to the next.

    <3 you as well

Name one AAA game with no "Grind" . Killing x mobs for x quest is that a grind ?? True they may have used bots/ 3rd party tools or maybe they spent 24/7 playing ??? How fast can you max in WoW ? LoTRO ? FFXI ? AoC ? days weeks ??? These games have no " Grind" either ????

Sad thing is, the "end game" and "how quickly you get there" has become "the main focus" for MMOs to many players.

I couldn't have said it better myself. I still play as if its a 'world' and realize that eventually, those that don't, will become bored and move on. Leaving the world to those of us that view it as we hope it is. MMOs used to be where you came to play to have fun, too recently too many have tried to make it a job, which still makes me wonder why....

The only people that will be level 50 this soon are the ones who have played 24/7 since the headstart.

    Aion is nothing but grind.

Pretty much. These people had friends they personally knew or trusted and just had thier accounts going 24/7. That's the only way they did it. lol.

ITs how people do it in every game and this game is no different. Grind is a grind no matter how you look at it.

then you are wrong, one of my friend only play 1-2 hours per day and only play about 4 days, he is level 20 already.

Why lie?  jesus I was in a guild with over 70+ memebrs each playing 8+ hours a day when Aion first launched, alot played in beat, and in 1 week we only had about 5 members lvl 20+ and alot in the 13=19 bracket, and thats with people playing 8+ hours a day  and on the most populated server in the EU Spatalos.  So please dont spout crap and lie.  The only way anyone can even have 2 lvl 50's at this point is if they are playing the game non stop and have absolulutely no life at all.

Story driven gameplay and sandbox do not mix in the same sentence. Story driven equals linear. Sandbox does not. You can drop a player in a rich with story and lore world to find his way in a sandbox game. If you drop him in a story driven game, you lead him by the nose, thus defeating the meaning of sandbox.

Sorry chatting crap again?  Morrowind is sandbox rpg, GTA is a sandbox game,, and probably many more titles with a story which are also sandbox.  In Eve there is a story from the very beginning so please dont chat crap.  Unless ur saying eve is not sandbox like many on this site proclaim it to be.

uhm, sorry, i have to call *bullshit* on this one.  that is not possible unless of a leveling exploit.  U can get to 20 in 4 days, but not by only playing 1-2hrs each of those 4 days.

Not sure what your Legion is smoking, but it does NOT take a week, 8+ hrs a day to get to level 20. I just built a glad yesterday and played less than 8 hrs (work and sleep more important) and I still got her to level 17 in that ONE day. I moved my SM from level 14 to level 23 in ONE day this past weekend. Granted, it is more difficult to do that after level 25, but dont' come on here jumping all up and down calling people liars when its possible. I even play one character on one screen and craft with another on the second screen, swap them when the funds change or feed one from the other if I need to.

Yeah, level 50 at the end of 2 weeks - no way they have a full time job or family. But one person, 10-14 hrs a day (8 for sleep - 2-6 for eat and relax) can easily push it if they really really wanted to. Personally I wouldn't want to even try to do that if I had the free time to do it, but it can be done.

One day. Built her as a storage alt for my main. Her Legion was built the same day I built her, has only her in it, and her Legion bank is now full of nothing but Flux for my crafting. And yes, level 1 to level 17 in one day.  Notice the Legion create date is 10/07 - today is 10/08 and I have currently been at work for the past 10 hours. Oh yeah, I slept 9 hours before work too just in case you wanted that detail too.
