I'm guessing you haven't actually played Mortal Online? As for AoC being a good game...sure it was bad when it released but at least FunCom had an actual playable game whereas Mortal Online is a total fucking joke and doesn't even have 1/10th the content that AoC had during its beta and if you think I'm exagerating then you obviously have not played MO. Also it should be noted that AoC has had over a year since release and they've actually done a lot to the game thus far...so for you to say grow up when I say AoC is a good game then I seriously have to wonder if you're a complete retard since you obviously haven't played it since beta and if you somehow think that a piece of shit like MO could improve if given a years time, then why the fuck can't Age of Conan idiot Mortal Online doesn't have any future potential and anyone with even half a fucking brain in their head can see this...Age of Conan shits all over MO in terms of innovation...the AoC combat system alone shits all over anything that MO has done thus far...and is in fact the best combat system in any MMO to date...hands down. I also mentioned theres still a lot of things I don't like about AoC but its without a doubt a better game than MO will EVER be.
I have played MO btw, I was there the first day pre-orders came out and I ordered my boxed version.
You seem to of totally missed my whole concept of a game that today may disappoint may indeed in the future be a great game, I never said AoC didn't have the chance to become a good game, but from my experience when I was playing it and btw I have a lvl 80 HoX, the gameplay was horrible but I put up with it because I believed that they would fix it.
Ill go ahead and spell it out for you in simple terms, from all your anger and trashing on the game, I wanted to know how you could fully embrace another Non-functional game when it was in beta, calling it a good game. Yet you can't simply make a review that states that this game is currently incomplete yet I believe it has potential in the future and not this game is trash dont even bother, you may as well spend your money on shit.
This game has huge potential if they can pull it off, they are trying a lot of new things that sound amazing in an MMO, and you are basing your whole review on a beta. Talk with any professional reviewer and they will tell you that your review is not a review of the product it is an opinion on the current stage of the beta simple as that.
MMO's mature into either better or worse games, WoW is one that has matured into a worse game. AoC from what I hear is maturing into a better game. So don't try and be a doomsayer and damn a game even before its released.
I know from not being a retard that MO has zero potential and will never become a good game...it would easily take them at least 2 more years of developing to create a worth while game....thats why I'm raging...because they lied about the state of their game and claimed it to be in beta but it isn't...and they claim to be releasing the game this year? I'm sorry but you have to be a complete moron to think the current version of MO is releasable. And yes I've seen all of the "improvements" that have been made but its still total shit since there still isn't a single fucking thing to do in the game besides pvp
See this is why everything you type I usually just pass over it, you are raging to an extreme extent that you totally contradicted yourself in the first 2 sentences. Stop trolling already because you have gone above and beyond the limits of someone who is actually reviewing the game. How can people believe your review when you can't even communicate correctly.
TheConfined is an obvious troll and I have no idea why he's not banned.
I didn't hate AoC but it's silly to try and compare those 2 games, they're world appart.
One is a multi-millions dollard production made by a well established gaming company and the other is a small project based on long-time devellopping before it hits it's "prime" from an indy cie.
Oh i have no problem dropping the $70. I would just like to know if the game is being relased anytime soon
No, it isn't. Not even close. It hardly functions, but hopefully it'll get better. Good ideas behind it, bad execution, or at least slow, so far.
The darkfall mod knows this how?
Oh,
He's just trolling.
For a second there I though you were on to something. But then you would have to get off of Tasos first, whoudln't ya.
lol@Darkfall mod comment, now who is trolling?
I know enough about most MMOs out there, and I know enough about this one. The devs themselves say this thing isn't coming out any time soon, nice try buddy.

Mortal Online doesn't have any future potential and anyone with even half a fucking brain in their head can see this...Age of Conan shits all over MO in terms of innovation...the AoC combat system alone shits all over anything that MO has done thus far...and is in fact the best combat system in any MMO to date...hands down. HAHA! I'm laughing at this because i am hoping that this is clearly sarcasm?? You've got to be kidding me on the combat, AoC's combat is something new but that's it. I played since Early Access, quit and came back twice after hoping the game would be good, it wasn't but the combat just doesn't cut it. It becomes very easy and repetitive, just like combat in WoW or EQ or any cooldown sytsem.
MO's combat system is the most innovative combat i have ever seen. A FPV AoChiv style MMO = awesomesauce. It's so refreshing to see this type of combat system in an MMO, actually first time ever done in an MMO, so how is that not innovating?
Now as for release of the game convo. I hope they don't release at the end of the year. I have been playing since block A and while the game is getting fun and has come along way, they need to wait like 3-6 more months to release. They need to add all of their skills, polish the game, and add some PvE content and it would be a damn good game at launch. Either way they have said many times that the game would be nothing more than a core game at release with free content patches and free expansions to come in the future.
This game has great potential! I don't care about all the usual haters and flamers have to say. This game does have the idea, the vision and is heading down what seems to be a great, new and innovating path for Mmos. And you know what? You don't have to play the fracking game if you don't like it. But saying that the game has no chance of becoming a success before its even finished is just plane idiocy and no way near the truth. Although I have to say the est release had me worried, since they haven't even gotten all the info on the site yet.
Despite my worries I'm looking forward to giving this game a fair try whenever it releases and hope I'm going to be happy with it And I'd recommend everyone that are intrigued by the games features as I am to give it a try, at least when the game is out that is ^^
Oh i have no problem dropping the $70. I would just like to know if the game is being relased anytime soon
Hard to tell. They have done lots of progress lately. I think it will take a couple of monthes before it is released. If you want to support this kind of game you can always preorder and decide thereafter when you want to start playing. Too many other MMOs are like WoW copies and I don't like DF so MO is the hope out there.
The concept is absolutely amazing. If they could pull off what they had planned, I have no doubt it would be great.
However, despite all the claims going on as though it has already done this, the current reality is far from the case. The game, at the moment, is barely playable in any real sense. This of course would be perfectly fine, were it not for the dreadful rumors floating around that they are essentially out of money again, and have to release this month or abandon ship. I can say with all certainty that if it launches in its current state, the game is doomed. All the potential in the world isn't going to make people sub up to a game that doesn't even have the basics covered yet. It may not be their fault, and I applaud them for trying, but this is the reality.
This game is a work in progress. Don´t buy in to the beta hype expecting to find a playable game (all hardcore early adopters aside..). It is indeed in Alpha stage. Buy it if you want to support the Swedish devs and their pet project.
Too bad the grafx are too good to actually be playable with lots of bodies on the screen. Despite the nice skybox his game is nowhere near being released in 2009.

With the ammount of videos and reviews of the game I think anyone who wants can geta n idea whatto expect from the beta.
Trying to scare people away with misleading info and poor assumptions is just lame. If you dont like the game move on.
Grafics have nothing to do with the lag problems.
There is server lag which ahs been worked on by the devs and they claim to be able to fix it by both upgrading the server before release and heavy optimziation of some of the code.
The game has actually much more than a beautifull skybox and full crafting and full skill system most likely will be patched in a week.
Before release there will be an open beta so anyone will be able to try the game before buying it.

I got some info from a friend, but apparently the beta event the other day was essentially called by many, a "slideshow".
Clients on good machines were pegging 100% CPU usage, and the server wasn't responding that well EITHER.
It's less than a month to go, and you think that all these problems will be resolved at launch? Plus not to mention, the beta event was what, 100, 150 people? When the server opens and people are trying to play the game en masse, and you have maybe 1000 people in the world, what then? I mean be realistic here, this isn't even a bash about MO, it's about facing reality and trying not to sell others on your distorted version of it. I work in enterprise software development and ecosystems. Bugs this big, that have not been tested on a grand scale and exhibit such broad behavior usually have many multiple layers of reasons behind the bugs, it's not just one core reason and it takes time to discover, debug, test a fix, implement a fix, and hope you didn't break anything ELSE. That's the SDLC process -- software development life cycle.
Look, StarVault is obviously rushing the game out the door, they need the cash and I can understand that. To me, it screams ineptitude to not be able to manage your budget, and I think it's unethical to call what they are doing anything near a beta. But at this point, so late in the game, honesty is going to be the BEST policy -- because if customers know up front that the game is barely playable and they are in for a rough ride with almost no content well... it's probably going to keep them waiting rather than cancel or not even try it. I just saw a dev blog where Wiktor is creating new artwork for the game -- and Henrik had assured us all that all the art assets and everything else were already there, just waiting for Epic to implement them. That was a flat out lie as we now know, because systems like thievery were JUST coded and not really tested at all. This is going to be evident regularly.
I know you are a fanboy, I know you like the game. But you do MO no favors by making outsiders believe that the game is close to ready, or that it's playable or stable. Honesty again, is going to be the best policy. I'm just watching now and making small comments occasionally as I'm proven right, but fanboys are generally the death of any game. Whether it be Vanguard, Age of Conan, WAR, Tabula Rasa, etc... it's all the same type of exhibited behavior followed by a "go back to WOW". Evidently in all the aforementioned games, people DID go back to WOW, and that's why the games fell apart or are on their way.

Have to agree, Age of Conan isn't my cup of tea but they've done a really good job fixing it up. Plays well, can be fun and graphically speaking it's excellent. Funcom pulled a game out of the wreckage and it will likely be here for a long time.
MO should have been the game I'm most interested in considering I was a devote sandbox gamer and the main reason AoC wasn't my cup of tea but it's suffering from some huge issue's right now. Having played on a friends account that is no longer interested in MO I am no longer interested in MO either. There's just to much to be done to make it even playable let alone launch ready. Great ideas, great concept, so far just bad implementation. I've passed the beta account off to someone else to endure that was interested. Theres simply to much not working out for them not to know a 2009 release isn't possible and there not announcing anything meaning there likely going to push it out early or there going to wait until they have a fair amount of pre-orders before announcing the delay, either way it's just not for me.
In a year I may check it out again. Despite the nudity I was looking forward to this MMO, but do to the issue's it's still suffering from I will take a pass for 6 months to a year. Wish AoC was a sandbox lol.

Same story as me -- I failed to keep my interest, gave off the account and away it went. I even tried to throw a few bones to the guys at SV because pretty much none of them have experience (by admission) developing or launching a big release, and since that's all I do (granted, financial software and systems) I offered my advice. Like they say though, charity is overrated and that's about all she wrote.
While the fanboys were convinced I didn't know WTF I was talking, I think their developers knew I did:

Fair enough. An incomplete beta wasn't enough to keep your attention; okay. The developers have an enormous amount of content planned and they have admittedly prioritized some content over others for release; okay. Developers who develop anything, including an entertainment mmorpg, have to be somewhat transparent on the detailed specifics of their development; okay.
Thankfully, between Darkfall, and it's continuing content adds and wide-scope of game-play improvement and polish in pvp and pve, for single-players and group players, and now Mortal Online continuing to ramp up and concentrate on their development path, I look forward to both of these being my current player-driven ecosystem games and a huge departure from the mundane theme-park whack-a-mole environments found in most western and asian grind mmo's.

The game was supposed to launch in the Summer of 2009. As you can see thats long past. The NDA has been lifted. The game pretty much is what it is at this point. So the unifinished beta comment does not carry the weight i Think you want it to carry.

The game world as is has some nice areas. I was exporing and found some great views and nicely structured areas. Armor and weapons look nice. My weapons don't disapear anymore. That is a good thing. But to launch a game when most of the features have not been tested just won't work for anyone other than the current beta testers. You can not have just a PvP game with nothing else to do and expect to have the number of subs needed to keep the project going. PvE and mobs with AI will be needed to help players train and skill up. I was running around last week looking for mobs. I ran for about 45 min and found 10 to 12 boars and domestic pigs. I started 3 new characters in different starter towns to look for more mobs. I found some horses after about 30 min running then found some buffalo. I did find a bunch of pigs with a large number bugged out. I know beta players will say that I am crazy and just need to explore more, but I am thinking of new players and what they will be experiencing. I have a player made map to help me find where things are, but new players won't.
I like the potential of MO. I defend the game when I see crazy things said about it. I pre-ordered a box to support the idea of MO and I do not think it was a waste to do so. But it needs more time. If the game is launched at the end of the month. They could possibly loose more than they gain by doing so.
They have already avoided the problems DFO had with the order system with the pre-order. That won't be the problem. The problem is that DF had more content working than MO with its launch and it was bashed to near death. It did work for them though in the end. So MO won't go away with a bad launch, but it will get a lot of bad press. We will have to wait to see what the patch will be on monday. I hope they start the open beta at the end of the year and delay the launch for a month or two.
How many people long for that "past, simpler, and better world," I wonder, without ever recognizing the truth that perhaps it was they who were simpler and better, and not the world about them? R.A.Salvatore
I wouldn't mind trying the beta but I can't justify the 60.15 USD. Maybe if they adjusted the pricing to 26.53 Euro I would do it.
Don't be terrorized! You're more likely to die of a car accident, drowning, fire, or murder! More people die every year from prescription drugs than terrorism LOL!

No, it isn't. Not even close. It hardly functions, but hopefully it'll get better. Good ideas behind it, bad execution, or at least slow, so far.
Darkfall Travelogues!

Oh,
He's just trolling.
For a second there I though you were on to something. But then you would have to get off of Tasos first, whoudln't ya.

I know enough about most MMOs out there, and I know enough about this one. The devs themselves say this thing isn't coming out any time soon, nice try buddy.
Darkfall Travelogues!
you will get 100% into beta if you buy the game

You would certianly know more then a beta tester.

Despite my worries I'm looking forward to giving this game a fair try whenever it releases and hope I'm going to be happy with it And I'd recommend everyone that are intrigued by the games features as I am to give it a try, at least when the game is out that is ^^
Sure as hell hope not, it isn't close to being ready.
I win!!! LOL@U
Bans a perma, but so are sigs in necro posts.
EAT ME MMORPG.com!

Beta forums. Everyone can read what's going on, nothing is hidden. How much more honest can you get?
http://www.mortalonline.com/forums/beta-forum/
I don't believe I've ever seen a single person say that the game is perfect to release now, or by the end of the year.
Quit being bitter. If you don't think the gameplay is fun, and don't want to support the developement, then leave.
Personally,
I think the gameplay if fun. When the servers running well, it's great. When MO is relatively bug free, and optimized, it will shine.
I believe MO is a whorthwhile investment. People will be able to deside for themselves with an open beta.
