Honestly, its nothing more than a marketing gimick, meant to sell more copies based on shock value. CoD:MW2 did the same thing with their 'leak' of the No Russian level, it created a ton of hype. The community will not be any more mature than any other MMO community. Look at AoC, that was filled with kiddies too, the M rating didnt do anything to discourage kids from playing, and neither will Mortal. In fact naked bits only encourage kids to play it more because 'they arent supose to!!'.
Im a bit skeptical of a game that has one of its selling points as FULL NUDITY!! ZOMG! It does nothing to add to gameplay, and for me doesnt make a game more fun.
Human beings used to have absolutely no inhibitions towards being naked around other human beings. No other animal does. Christians brought about clothing and decency and, though the reason behind the concept is questionable, clothing is awesome. Choice is pretty awesome too, though, and how people act towards nudity nowadays is laughable. Everyone is easily offended on all sides. Hopefully, however, civilization is moving towards being more accepting and this is a good show of that for MMOs. Having the option to play a game that has the option to be naked is a good thing. Who knows if I'll buy the game or not but it's a good social experiment and a good thing for open-mindedness, creativity and freedom for the industry and the world in general (whether they take notice or not). Yay!

I know they are going for a 'niche' market, but even if you have a market segment targetted, you have to be as broadly appealing to that segment as possible. It would have probably shaved a little development time off too but that's negligible.
But then again, this goes right in hand with them introducing fluff features and not concentrating on the core of combat, which would be their main selling point.

I agree this was a poor business decision. They are going to greatly reduce not increase their market segment by doing so.
Features that reduce the number of potential players is not a good financial decision for a small company trying to survive in a competitive market.
Not because of the vulgarity of blatant nudity for no purpose or because there is necessarily anything wrong with nudity.
It is what the nudity will be used for that will be the problem.
But because it is going to attract VERY immature people who are going to use the nudity for VERY immature purposed that WILL dissuade mature people from wanting to play with these individual.

Age of Conan had boobs and that was a big flop (pun intended), MO will just be another one. After the first few days people will get bored of cartoon porn and start looking for gameplay, which AoC didnt have due to the developers spending to much time fapping to the cartoon boobs, and lied on the box to cover their indiscretions....

I got a PM once, that StarVault could release "pong without a ball" and the same folks who praise them over and over would rile about how innovative the idea was. This is the mentality you have to deal with.
Reality doesn't sink in until like Darkfall, the server is empty, nobody wants to play, and they are begging you to join up. It will happen sooner than they think. I'll just wait for my "i told you so" until then. Unfortunately, it's difficult to have logical debates so I am just making small comments while I'm at work, and otherwise ignoring it.
Luckily no one is being forced to play this. Nudity neither adds nor detracts the value of a game to me.

I got a PM once, that StarVault could release "pong without a ball" and the same folks who praise them over and over would rile about how innovative the idea was. This is the mentality you have to deal with.
Reality doesn't sink in until like Darkfall, the server is empty, nobody wants to play, and they are begging you to join up. It will happen sooner than they think. I'll just wait for my "i told you so" until then. Unfortunately, it's difficult to have logical debates so I am just making small comments while I'm at work, and otherwise ignoring it.
Luckily no one is being forced to play this.

And exactly what's your point that you felt the need to magnify a qualifier in a sentence? I'm not the one who is trying to convince anyone that a certain opinion is either right or wrong. You don't like the idea of nudity in the game, what does that have to do with me?
