Calm down. sure people cant do EVERY single quest. but theres no point. I bet you can get to level 60 without having to read one quest. you know why? becuase its too easy to level. You can do 3 quests and your the next level if you do it right. id go out on a limb and say about 80% of the quests dont make you read them. and with cosmos, people just go "/1 HOW DO I DO THIS QUEST! !$#%^! ITS TOO HARD. I CANT FIND ANYTHING" and then people help them, sadly.
just leave the discussion, because you firemagic are being a big #$%. you dont have to criticize every single post. and you dont have to call people lyers when they arent lying, and then stick up for yourself about how he still is lying when people agree with him. by the way, i did play WoW so dont do this whole "I bet you didnt even play WoW." because almost everyone did.

First of all, I'm perfectly calm. You, on the other hand, seem to have lost it. Why the vitriol? I'm really sorry if I've upset you.
Jodokai asked me to give an example of a quest you can't do without just skimming through the quest summaries in order to prove him wrong, and I did so.
you have to read the quests.....the quests are hard most of the time(about their locations), the world is big and stuff could be on a whole nother contient or map....i use thotbot for like 75% of my quests, itd take me forever to find some of these spots, and i dont wanna bother people asking them where these quests are so i use thotbot....
the way i figure it, wow isnt the game for most of yall, so why keep making up shit about the game or exhagerating about its weaknesses?
oh yea, heres some quests that you have to read:
find oox-22
the quest to get artisan cook...its a quest that starts in origrimar when you hit 225 i think
foul magics
the libram of voracity, constitution, etc.- high-end game enchantment quests
and theres a bunch more, i just dont feel like logging in and writing all my quests here, cuz i dont know where most of the stuff is, and thats cool cuz i can explore, party up with people who know where the shit is, ask guild members, or use thotbot.

Exactly. That was the point of this whole thread.
Thank you, drive through.

I fail to see why the WoW folks are arguing about the quest systems. EQ's quest system is more difficult than WOW's and is a bit more involved.
Hint folks: That's by design. WOW was intended to be easy to level and play in a very short time. EQ is designed to require significantly more time to level. Those aspects of both games are intrinsic to their design.
Personally I don't play WoW but would love to. I simply can't justify more than 1 MMO subscription at a time. It is outside my budget. I can't go sinking 2 MMO subscriptions when I have a family to take care of. WOW really appeals to me because when I played the stress test I could hop on for an hour and have fun. In EQ2 If I don't have at least 2 hours I don't even bother anymore.... and I'm only level 20.
Why do I play EQ2? Because with my station all access pass I get to play PlanetSide (which is my 'ooh I have 30 minutes to play' game) and SWG (which is my favorite MMO of all time and the one I play most often) and EQ1 (which is my Brother calls, "guild is doing raid XYZ we need your cleric") and EQ2 (which is my "man I really need a fantasy fix that doesn't feel old")
If I could justify sinking another $15 on MMO's a month I would grab WoW in a heartbeat. It's a budget thing. I allow myself $25 a month for gaming. That includes buying new games. Yup, you guessed it, I don't buy new games very often, I usually get them as gifts at birthday or christmas. The SOE All Access Pass is $21.95 which falls under my a llotment so I get access to 4 pretty sweet MMO's.
Now.... when GuildWars comes out I'll be asking for it for my birthday so I can play it too I like the 'no subscription' aspect of it and it sounds like a cool Fantasy PVP game.
But to get back to my point: You guys are arguing over nothing.
WoW was designed with the casual gamer in mind. EQ2 was not.
It's a DESIGN difference. So to those who enjoy the EQ style MMO WOW will feel watered down. Because you level so fast and a lot of things are handed to you much more easily than in an EQ style MMO.

"Appearances" can be deceiving. Wow goes from one end to the other the last 10 levels or so, content wise. Plus hasn't EQ 2 been trying to make itself more solo and casual friendly anyways? Thought one of their main MMO guys did a lecture about how the MMO market is changing towards casual gaming.

Yes they've been trying to modify EQ2 to make it more casual friendly. But the bottom line is that WoW was designed, from the ground up, to be fun for the casual player while EQ2 was designed to be for more avid players and is only now being "Retro fitted", if you will, for casual players.
And the person that stated that the MMO market is changing towards casual gaming is absolutely correct. The "Gamer" population is aging a bit. There are now as many people who play MMO's that are full time working adults as there are kids. Kids have tons of time to play games, generally speaking adults, once out of college and in the job market, do not. Therefore the face of the modern MMO is slowly changing to be more "casual player" friendly.
Like I said, I play EQ2... but I'd rather be playing WOW. Because my lifestyle no longer allows me large blocks of uninterupted play except only very occasionally. I can't hop in EQ2 and play for 2 hours without interruption. I'm constantly going AFK or even having to log out because of kids, animals and wife needs. To me that's not a problem but it does mean that I can't sink the same time a teenager can into an MMO. Thus a more 'casual friendly' MMO is appealing to me.
