To all the rogues crying "I wont get to raid we have no buffs" I say you wont get to raid because your rotation sucks :D

As much as I like WoW, this is another huge problem in my opinion:   The community is basically competing against itself instead of working together. I've never heard of someone complaining that someone else in thier group is doing a good job. WTF is up with that shit?

    I completely agree...

Blizz has been spinning the nerf and buff  wheel for years. This time it landed on rogues. Rogues had their time now its the turn of another class. This is what passes for balance in the the game.

I think they have done the best job balancing in the industry to be honest.

30 different variations of playable classes.

    Combined with pve and pvp.

Combined with small group, raid group, seige, team and solo content.

There are no classes that are useless in any group.  Any class can kill another and lose to another.

Perfect balance, no.  Above most other games that still struggle to basic balance done for even one aspect of their game, yes.

Take EQ2 for example.  A game the same age as wow, still working on balancing.  Have the devs there even figured out how they are going to make the dreaded "fighter revamp" work?  Wasn't the first plan so horrible they had to scrap it about a year ago and have yet to revisit the problem?

All things considered I am fine with the job blizzard has done.  Every game has class changes.

I knew it! They just made the rogue a desired class in raids again. Can't have that.

    A witty saying proves nothing.

Right you are! Damn, next thing you know they will stop nerfing Death Knight and move on to nerfing some other class! That will never do!!...

Its like watching Yakko, Wakko and Dot spinning the Wheel of Balance... ^^ "Wheel of Balance turn, turn, turn, tell us the class that we should burn..."  ^^

What else can rogues do in this game besides melee dps?

What else can other classes do besides melee dps?

To me if blizz and wow players just asked themselves those questions they would not mind the rogue being a high roller on the dps chart.  If you limit a class to only do one thing no matter how many specs you can conjure up on those 3 trees, they better be damn good at it, otherwise the other utilities that other classes will have besides that one thing will make them so much more valuable and wanted in a group at any time. Just my 2 cents, I dont even play anymore, so it really doesnt effect me, but when I did my main was a rogue and I would be pissed if I was still playing.

Well I feel sorry for the rogues of Warcraft out there. Love the thread headliner too lol.

Here's to Ret Pallys and Pally healers... soon there will be no reason to play any other class when Cat comes out.

You guys act as though Rogues won't be able to DPS anymore, sheesh, it's not even that bad of a nerf... most players will barely even notice the change probably.

I can just see someone saying that in Jan of last year about the Death Knight class....

So death knights cannot dps or tank since the changes last year?

Simple answer to a simple question, sure they can. But as with many such things the devil is in the details. Anyone who played at WOTLK release(I went to 80 DK) knows that the difference is like day and night. There have been SO many nerfs...errr... "balances" since then, that its effectively a different class.  Frost and Unholy spec for just two examples of spec's that got seriously hammered. But this bait and switch has been Blizzards SOP since Diablo, so its not as if we shouldn't expect it by now...<shrug>

    Bait and switch?

Death Knights do comparable damage to other dps classes and tank just as well as any other tank class.  I'm not sure what you were expecting or think you were promised?  Honest question.

That sounds like a fine balance to me.  Adding a new class to an existing game isn't the easiest thing in the world and it will obviously need the most tuning and balancing compared to other classes.  It seems to be pretty common in game that add new classes as it unlikely a company will get a decent balance right out of the gate.

I do think blizzard screwed the pooch on a lot of game balance at the release of lich king and death knight is a fine example of that, but the class now is balanced with the rest of the game.  I'm not sure I would go so far as saying night and day in terms of how the class plays, because to me at least it feels like the same class.  Night and day versus how overpowered they were, sure.
