Last week, we brought you ten reasons to hate MMO X, today we bring you a list of the other side of the coin: Ten reasons to defend MMO X.
#6 You're obviously a paid shill for Company X
Ok, this one I hate. I will not make any defense of this defense. This defense is completely and utter bogus, and yet we see it all the time.
This one makes the assumption that anyone who doesn't like what I like must get paid to come onto forums and say bad things about the game I like.
First of all, where do I get a job like that? Seriously. I want to know. Is there some kind of listing? If I look in the right papers will I find a want ad that reads:
"Seeking professional troll. Must hate everything and have unpleasant social skills. Being a douchebag is an asset, but not required."
Yes, viral marketing does exist. Yes, viral marketing is annoying (I assume it's that particular phenomenon that's given rise to this bizarre defense of a game against criticism, yes?) But let's not assume that people who don't agree with us must be taking money for their thoughts. That's just. Well, a little bit insane.

In all seriousness, great article! I really enjoy your Ten *Blank* of MMO X lists. They are hilarious to read and enlightening at the same time. It's very sad that people make such useless remarks, but it's indeed fact that it happens.

To really get the point across you have to say GB2Wow. If you type out the words it is not as effective. Just like using QQ.
And you forget the Carebear approach of saying if someone doesn't like something it's because they're a carebear. Or that a person hates a game because it's a carebear game. I'd like to see these references mixed up occasionally. Can someone be a Wonder Twin, or perhaps one of those Captain Planet kids with the rings (I mean come on the kid who had the power of heart was pretty lame).

I havent experienced any difference between sandbox and themepark MMO's in terms of community.(Cant speak for free for all PVP MMOs, because I dont play those).
But I encounter asshats in any MMO, even polite ones
Any MMO that has worldwide chat will give the impression that is has a lot of annoying players in it. Because you only need a few to totally disrupt a chat channel or npc city

Nice read. I think almost every poster could use some part of that advice. The conclusion is particularly correct, and many could do with respecting the opinions of others a bit more, even when they're wrong

IF indy devs charge as their products as they should have maybe they get a wider player base to try a new product that offers less than top AAA but still offers a good experience.

I think your #1 defense of "go back to WoW" could be valid under certain circumstances, mainly that the person is trolling around just saying things well like "this game should do what WoW does ...." because in that case, I really think they should just GTFO and go back to WoW
