and no, if you killed me and took my stuff.. I'd just go back to town and equip another set of the 500 of the same thing I already have. I'm not whining, and I know and like how the game works. I'm just trying to find people that want to play the game, and not anything else.

 To the OP, if you're looking for an open world with pve and pvp FFA, and great community, try Fallen Earth. I play FE and i 'm going to try DFO because i can't play anymore wow likes (wow, lotro aion Eq2 etc) I only play indie games (Mount and Blade, Fallen Earth, maybe DFO and also, Histwar, an indie wargame) i'm casual but I want to play great games. DFO seems to be hardcore but interesting now.

Show me a shooter where I have to be cautious even at the starting area, because I might be robbed blind by a would-be assailant. - Okay you got me here, Planetside lets people train first before going into battle. And Battlefield.

Show me a shooter where I have to worry about dismounting, because someone might roll up and steal my mount. - Planetside and Battlefield

 

You're nothing special, you just have all the attributes of a MMOFPS claiming to be a MMORPG. Which is very sad. Also note the age and success of Planetside, and there's appearantly a second one coming! Be very scared of the new Battlefield and Planetside.

The problem is, there is a large percentage of people who get on vent to be annoying. They talk about work issues, wife issues, friend issues, money issues, anything that is not game related issues. I don't want to hear that garbage. I have to listen to people moan and groan all day every day at work. The last thing I want to hear when I get to relax is more people moaning and groaning about everything other than the game we are playing. I don't want to hear sex jokes, or sex remarks. I don't want to hear racial remarks. I don't want to hear people talking about football, or baseball, or basketball or any of the other plethora of things that break immersion. I don't want to hear a 12 year old voice barking orders at me or anyone else. I don't want to hear extreme amounts of profanity (I'll watch a rob zombie film if I want to hear that). I don't want to hear heavy breathing because one idiot refuses to bind his key. I don't want to hear random music that one guy decides to stream over vent the entire time he plays. I don't want to hear screaming babies, or farting over the mic. I don't want to hear anything these people are doing other than playing the game. And.. thats the issue you have with vent.. because its impossible to control any of that.
What  I do want to hear in vent is nice strategic chat. And, the occasional social chat.. as long as its not the same people babbling about the same nonsense hogging the entire channel. The problem is, there are very few that work this way. I know, which is why I try to avoid them like the plague. But, if I know its a group of mature people who understand the reason to have vent.. its a much more enjoyable experience. 

Outstanding post and quite frankly you nailed it on the head. This is my sentiment on the matter too.

I've tried 8 different clans, and the same thing always happens. I get ignored. "welcome to the clan" and thats pretty much the last I hear. If I try to ask questions, noone responds. If I try to ask questions in the global chat.. they are usually spamming and trash talking each other so noone that might be able to answer actually sees my question.
I spent 30 minutes looking for the tailoring station, and after asking twice and getting no response I logged out.
Everytime I log on, the graphics perform differently.. for some reason.. which is annoying.
I hate to say it, but maybe I need to be playing a themepark game. I just don't have the patience for this stuff. I want to have fun, and make friends.. but seems everyone has already formed their "cliqs" and they aren't accepting new members.
